Gilles Marini, who plays Sarah’s Harlequin-esque French beau, will be returning next season as a full-time series regular, according to showrunner David Marshall Grant. But while Sarah will be gaining a steady companion, she’ll be losing a sibling: Grant also confirms that Luke Grimes has completed his run as Walker half-brother Ryan.
News of the casting tweaks comes as the ABC drama is preparing to say goodbye to Rob Lowe. But Grant insists no further departures are planned. “There may be an episode or two that some [characters] might not be in,” he says, “but aside from Rob [and Luke], the [entire] cast is returning.”
Brothers & Sisters wraps its fourth season on May 16.

This is great news! I love Gilles Marini. Ryan never belonged in the series, it was a mistake to add him to the cast. They should’ve dropped him long ago. so this is excellent news!
I love Gilles Marini — EVERYBODY loves Gilles Marini — how could you not love Gilles Marini? — but I have to say that my favorite Sarah is single, horny, drunk Sarah. So I’ll miss that.

ryan was the worst character with a horrid actor. hmmm, or the actor was exceptional because he created a distasteful character. lol
but i don’t want ryan to go without some comeuppance for his involvement with dennis york, and he needs to lose any control of ojai. oh wait, they all lose control of ojai. well, ryan better not profit via dennis york.

AMEN! I still wince at the beginning of episodes when Justin interacts with Rebecca. It is hard to remember.
Actually I didn’t even remember Ryan was on the show anymore. I actually though about that when I saw the actor’s name on the credits. Guess he won’t be missed.
He hasn’t been on the show in like 4 or 5 episodes! It’s funny how Ausiello wrote this as if he’s suddenly leaving… I’m not sure he actually watches these shows he dishes about!

But could you address the rumors about budget cuts and how characters won’t e around much next season? I see Grant says 1 or 2 episodes, but I’m reading/hearing some cast members are only going to be around half the season ……
They did nothing interesting with the character Ryan, the actor had zero charisma, the whole thing was an epic waste of time.
I thought Ryan already left?? He hasn’t been on in months! No one even mentions him. It’s a shame, what started out as a decent storyline, turned into a mess. Sorry Luke.

He’s so boring, and no offense, but the actor is dry and uninteresting.
boring? maybe. but he’s more endowed than a man has a right to be. that’s enough for me to find him fascinating.

Good news. I like Sarah and Luc together. I hope this show gets it together. This year has taken a lot of patience, but Sarah and Luc are a bright spot. I’m frustrated with the news that Justin and Rebecca are going to have problems because I FINALLY settled into them. This show can be good, but it also makes some stupid choices in plot lines.
I still hate Justin & Rebecca. It’s not surprising they’re having problems, they were ‘siblings’ at one time and seriously, have they gone even 3 episodes without having some misunderstanding via miscommunication?
