Exclusive First Look: 'Smallville' season finale showdown!

smallville-salvationImage Credit: Jack Rowand/The CWThis only looks like a screen grab from Dancing With the Stars. It’s actually a sneak peek at the wet-’n-wild showdown Smallville‘s staging in its May 14 season finale between Clark and Zod. Our money’s on the future Superman, natch, but his nemesis’ dagger is made of blue kryptonite — you know, the kind that strips our hero of his powers — so at least he has a, um, fighting chance.

Only good news come with a wet Tom Welling teehee

    • Cathy

      word

      • htstff

        uh huh….gawd!! Cant wait

    • mgb

You’ve got that right. Tom wet is always a crowd pleaser.

      • MaryJane

Tom Welling in anything (or out, for that matter) is fine with me, wet, dry, cold, hot…OMG, just give me some Tom Welling!

      • Emme

Tom Welling’s hotness is sort of hypnotizing. I’m sort of ashamed to admit it because I don’t normally find myself drooling over people on television. I prefer to focus on the real men in my own life. But truth be told, I often find myself mesmerized when he’s on the screen. His face is just….incredible. I can never figure out what it is. His eyes, his lips? He’s just incredibe looking. He’s this sweet, humble boy scout that invokes the dirtiest images imaginable in my brain.

      • Megan

@Emme … SO true. Honestly, you’ve captured my thoughts completely. I don’t like the whole drooling over celebrities thing either, but there is just something about that man.

Maybe it’s a combination of his lips, eyes, hair and demeanor?

      • ontd

Clark / Welling is porn. This has long been known and discussed on livejournal. Tons of people there have had userpic avatars of Clark with the word “pornstar” stamped on it. I think it was a meme that went around for a while.

      • Christina

@Emme @ontd @Megan – He is just beautiful and never have enough on screen time!

      • stacymac

@Emme….Enough said, thank you! It’s funny because today I just answered a Topic of the Week poll asking about favorite actors and I normally don’t do them. Of course, this one was an exception, my answer, Tom Welling! I’ve watched him on TV for like 9yrs and it was like watching him grow up, too. He’s still as handsome and you’re right, his look is mesmerizing, it’s puts you in an awe just seeing him on screen. And the fact that he’s playing a super hero character, makes it even more attractive. So, I say “I hear you, I know exactly what you mean.” :) Cheers!

      • ian

creepy. I love the show but I’m a guy and this scene is exciting to me not because Tom Welling is wet (shudder) but because Superman is fighting Major Zod.

  • Lory

Oh god this looks epic thank you so much i can’t wait to see this smallville rules thanks again ausiello

  • Serpent

LOL. It looks like Clark and Zod are about to have sex.
Please please please do it.. :D

    • Brody

If go there, I will actually watch this show.

    • Fred

No offense, but you’re really creepy.

      • Serpent

Umm.. why? Just because I want two hot guys to make sweet sweet love, I’m creepy?

  • Eric

I’ve watched Smallville since day one and this season has been horrid. It’s so bad, convoluted, and stupid that I have stopped watching. Way to go! Just put Clark in the Super suit and be done with it already.

    • andy

eric if you dislike it so much and stopped watching it why on earth have you clicked on the link to view the picture

    • tallie

Shut up Eric. Just cool off & shut up!

    • Lory

why you are wasting your time saying this craps !!
i don’t agree with you at all because this season is the best sooo far on smallville !!

      • amanda

I agree that this season hasn’t been great. Regardless, this show is still one of the best on television (along with Supernatural). Btw… Tom Welling. =D

    • BKWURM1

You are not wrong –there is so much wrong with this season, but Absolute Justice sucked me back in. Only one more year…right?

      • Addison

No theres gunna be a season 11.
Which i for 1 think is awsome.
        xx

    • MartinSA

you think this season is convuluted, sad and stupid? In comparison to the first 6 seasons? I think you’ve just lost any credibility you’ve had with the entire world with that statement.

    • Eric is a Loser

      Eric you are a loser.
This season hsa a story line,a great story line infact.
I would understand if you said that the first three seasons didnt have a story line, beacuse they basically didnt. All Clark did in each episode was fight of “meteor freaks.” In this season and the last, stoyline has been the core of the show. So next time you make a comment plz think.

      • Serpent

What the hell’s wrong with you? The man just expressed his opinion. And you start calling him names? What are you? Eight years old?

      • Gabe

I Think this season is the best smallville season yet! great clois! great action! great storys and an awesome villian! This image gets me so hype! GO SEASON 10 and GO SMALLVILLE!!!! THANKS AUSILLO!

      • Angela Beckett

Come one, let it go. This is suppose to be for fun. it’s not worth if you guys let your blood boil when someone express their oppinion and it’s not like yours. Come one.

      • JimC

No, Eric isnt a loser. Eric is a troll and he’s getting exactly what troll’s crave…attention.

      • GregR

        There’s a storyline???

    • G

Let me just say, with the utmost immaturity, that SMALLVILLE IS THE BEST AND YOU ARE DUMB.

    • SMALLVILLE RULES

Eric is a big fat dumb ass.

      Smallville is amazing now.

      • Eric

Wow. Shame on all of you for your third grade immaturity. Too bad the ratings can’t support your argument, for if Smallville was such a great show it would certainly attract more of an audience. Instead, it continues to shrink thereby validating my opinion. You may now “carry on.”

      • Roman

no u are the big fat dumb ass, smallville sucks now, eric is just stating the obvious. anyone who has watched the show for 9 good years would know that, even TV or mag critics say so, only losers who cant face the truth and live in denile (aint just a river…), if its so great why are the ratings sinking below 1, 6 mil/ i.8 mil ha? great shows are measured by their viewership following, otherwise what the point?

    • John

I think everyone is being immature with the names. I do disagree but i have my opinion and you have yours. The fact that the raqtings may not be up to speed is partly because the show is on friday. But anyway, everyone is titled to their own opinion it is somewhat childish to insult someone for sharing their’s.

    • chris

I thought so too, but it gets really good about season 7 – now addicted.

    • Ray

I would agree this season has been uneven. However, at least half the episodes have been as quality as any other SV season.

    • Daniel

Eric, I have to agree with you. I quit watching after “Pandora” this season and aside from a pathetic episode featuring the character Banshee I haven’t seen any still. This show used to be good. I don’t know why I’m still even interested. Season 6 was the best and after 7 there was no point. OH well. I’m sure I’ll get caught up this summer and give it yet another try this fall.

  • Lauren

looks like a scene out of the notebook
    but i can’t wait

    • Cas

Clark and Zod, sittin’ in a tree…

      • Joe

Kinda gives “Kneel before Zod” a whole new meaning…

      • brody

I now crown Joe the official champion of this comment board.

      • Wickeddoll

I second that one, Brody… ROFL

  • Gemma

I hope Clark knocks Zod out. I love me some wet Tom Welling!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Missy

Smallville almost lost a viewer after last season, but this season has been nothing but HOT! Okay… hot with a small side of cheesy. =) Love this season! Love this pic!

    • leola65

Missy, totally agree. Love the actor who plays Zod, feels like they lost their way storyline wise, but hopefully this will be worth it. Can’t help it, I’ll stick around till the show is no more.

  • BKWURM1

At least if both were depowered the show stands a chance at showing an epic battle. They tend not to have the budget to really go all out in a powered up fight, but I’m not completely convinced Zod isn’t holding greenK in weird light. Why would Zod, who also has powers want to remove his own poweres? Of course I guess the same goes for the GreenK. I don’t know. I keep trying to make this show make sense but it so rarely does. On the shallow side, Tom Welling does wet REALLY well.

    • MartinSA

Zod’s military trained and probably has the hand to hand combat skills to outfight Clark in a non-powered fight. As it stands, Clark has more experience with his powers than Zod does.

    • Shaun

Because Clark has the experience and training….Zod is way behind.Besides flying,Clark would pwn him.

  • Lori

Yummy wet Clark! well at least blue k means a better chance of a longer fight!

  • Nerwen Aldarion

Hmmm well a wet Tom makes me happy but excuse me if I’m cautious when they use the words “epic fight” since I believe they used the same phrase with Doomsday

    • Alex

I agree. Makes me very nervous, because Doomsday was a complete Failsday. Do not want a repeat of that awfulness.

  • athena606

OMG I can’t wait for this!! only bad thing is then we’ll have to wait till September ;)

  • Tiva4Life

It looks promising…better be good not like DD **shudders**

    • Brian

Doomsday wasn’t bad, at least the fight part. We’re talking about a creature who gets stronger every time he dies, and people were getting killed all over the place. The only responsible and Supermanly thing for Clark to do was to end the battle as quickly as possible, which he did.
It was the JLA turning on Clark that hurt that episode.

      • BKWURM1

If the point of the Doomsday/Clark fight was to get it over as quickly as possible then the show runners should not have been out doing interviews and pumping up interest about the upcoming “epic” fight and the show shouldn’t have spent all season long telling the audience that DD was unstoppable. Even Lois and Tess’s rumble in the basement was more epic than Clark delivering two punches, making a leap and then not knowing how he survives. LAME!!!!!! Honestly, Zod and Clark could hold hands and sing show tunes and it would still be less of a let down than Clark’s fight against Doomsday.

      • Brian

Doomsday WAS unstoppable. That’s why they had to bury him and couldn’t kill him (and why a long, drawn out fight would’ve been pointless and cost lives). Clark survives the jump/burying because he’s super-strong.
But I agree…the follow-up to the fight (and the episode) were handled badly. Clark did everything right in that episode and has gotten nothing but blame from everyone by Lois. And “epic” was the wrong term for them to use, but that doesn’t change the fact that the fight turned out logically.

  • Ellie

C’mon boys, kiss and make up.

  • Dee

    WOW! CAN’T WAIT!!! SQUEEEEE!!!
(I am shouting because I can’t contain my excitement)

  • AUStarwars

People still watch this awful show? Even after the Supergirl debacles?

    • Lory

what the hell are you talking about
this is a great show just shut the hell up

    • K

It’s so bad it’s good, and like myself a lot of us have been watching since the beginning and can’t let go, no matter how bad the writing and the plots get. Now don’t get me wrong, I thought this season was great but at the same time, the writers can miss, and this season there were a few misses as there were in other seasons.
