Major 'Ugly Betty' series finale spoiler: Does this mean what I THINK it means?

Categories: Scoop, Ugly Betty

ugly-bettyImage Credit: WENN.comHere’s some (potentially) good news for Ugly Betty fans hoping for a Betty/Daniel happy ending: The show is shooting several pivotal scenes on location in London today with America Ferrera and Eric Mabius for the April 14 series finale. “They’re shooting in Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, amongst other places,” reveals a source. The British flag on Betty’s farewell banner was a rather big clue that her new career opportunity would take her across the pond, but that doesn’t explain what Daniel is doing there. Hmm

Exclusive first look: 'True Blood' welcomes werewolf Alcide!

Categories: First Look, Scoop, True Blood

true-bloodImage Credit: John P. Johnson/HBO“There is definitely some [sexual] energy between the two of them,” says executive producer Alan Ball of the dynamic between his newest mane attraction, werewolf Alcide (One Tree Hill‘s Joe Manganiello), and Sookie (Anna Paquin), who team up in season 3 (debuting June 12) to track down her kidnapped beau, Bill. “It’s not like either one of them is looking for romance, but they’re thrown into several intense situations [and] it’s hard not to bond on a deeper level.”

It probably isn’t too tough for Sookie to bond with her animal sidekick on a superficial level, too. READ FULL STORY »

Erykah Badu to appear on Fox's `The Wanda Sykes Show'

Categories: Music, Television

Erykah Badu, who was charged with disorderly conduct for removing her clothes in public during her “Window Seat” music video shoot, will talk about the now-controversial shoot in Dallas’ Dealey Plaza on Fox’s The Wanda Sykes Show April 3.  She is also scheduled to perform.

The Dallas Police Department made good on an investigation that was still in progress as of Friday morning by charging Badu. The singer is now subject to a fine of up to $500. Badu had reportedly settled on Dealey Plaza after finding inspiration in Matt & Kim’s “Lesson Learned” video, which featured the pair running naked in New York’s Times Square. Badu also refers to John F. Kennedy’s assassination in the “Window Seat” video.

'One Life to Live' star Brett Claywell talks about losing job after depicting gay sex scene in daytime

one-life-liveImage Credit: Steve Fenn/ABCFans of ABC’s One Live to Live are still reeling from the news that the producers have decided to eliminate the storyline involving gay couple Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell) and Oliver Fish (Scott Evans). Last year, the characters participated in daytime’s first-ever love scene involving two men — a development that was lauded by organizations like the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Last month, the daytime drama received a GLAAD Media Award two days after the news broke that ”Kish” had been cut. Says Jarrett Barrios, GLAAD’s President, “While we understand that the close of storylines is a frequent occurrence on daytime dramas, canceling this story just as it gains momentum is a step backward in ABC Daytime’s representation of the lives of gay Americans.” (ABC says there are no plans to advance their story but “the door is always open for their return.”)

The actors will have their last scene together on April 12; Claywell’s final episode is April 16. Claywell talked to EW about the loss of his character and why he thinks ratings had something to do with it. (OLTL remains the second least-watched sudser in daytime, behind the canceled As the World Turns.) Check out the Q&A after the jump. READ FULL STORY »

Exclusive first look: Minka Kelly lights up NBC's 'Parenthood'

Categories: First Look, Parenthood, Scoop

minka-kellyImage Credit: Justin Lubin/NBCWhen the time came for Parenthood to introduce the character of Gaby Moss, an Asperger’s aid that Kristina (Monica Potter) and Adam (Peter Krause) hire to help out with their son, Max, the NBC drama’s boss, Jason Katims, immediately thought of his onetime Friday Night Lights ingénue Minka Kelly.

“On the one hand, she’s charming and easy-going,” says Katims, “but she’s also quietly forceful, which is something this role requires. It’s a tough position to come in and tell anybody, ‘Hey, you’re not doing a good job with your kid.’”

Katims sent Kelly the script and within 24 hours she wanted in. READ FULL STORY »

Exclusive: Will DirecTV rescue 'Damages'?

Categories: Damages, Scoop

damagesImage Credit: Craig Blankenhorn/FXThe fate of another critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged drama series may once again rest in the hands of DirecTV.

Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that Sony is talking to DirecTV’s 101 Network about partnering on a possible fourth season of Damages. The cost-sharing arrangement would be similar to the one DirecTV and NBC forged with Friday Night Lights, which means future seasons of Damages would air first on DirecTV with a second window on FX.
