Actually, Dana did have a good side. She genuinely cared about Cole, which she demonstrated after she rendered him unconscious. For one thing, she could have killed him but didn’t. She just stroked his face as though to say she really did love him and was sorry it worked out the way it did. She even cared somewhat about Kevin Wade. She seemed genuinely moved by his death.
I liked the entire Dana Walsh/Jenny Scott story line, from beginning to end. I think in reality most people either liked it or was on the fence, but you have some people that want to always be the vocal minority of nay-saying whiners about something. If it hadn’t been Dana, it would have been something else.
I liked the way Jack used two bullets on her. Like one was just so she would know what hit her and that she was definitely paying for her crimes. None of this “she never knew what hit her business. Then Jack went ahead and put her out of her misery.
So I guess Chloe is going to get killed at or near the end of episode 22. I can’t think of anybody else whose death would be emotionally shocking or upsetting, unless it would be Kim, or the grandkid, and I just don’t see that happening.
The plot dislike had nothing to do with gender but the childish writing. I seriously doubt if the Russians would turn this mole lose and not but the hillbilly off if he jeopardized things.
CTU is portrayed as this super techno place and yet when it is convenient Dana could stuff a body in the wall with no one knowing. While the rest of things have happened with a certain believability Dana was not. And finally while it was nice Freddie can now come after jack for killing his ex-fiancé if Dana was such a bad ass she would have put a bullet in his head.
J’adore Katee Sackhoff
For one thing, why do you call Dana’s death “shocking”? I’ve been expecting it ever since we found out she was a traitor. Second, why do you put a giant photo of Dana right next to the opening of your article where you tell people who haven’t seen the episode yet not to read any further. Really irresponsible “journalism” on both counts.
She deserves an EMMY nom for betraying a hated character! Well done!!!
252 kills over 8 days. And imagine these are just the days of his life that we’ve SEEN over a period of 16 years!
Sheesh! Bye Bye Dana
Chloe: Jack, Dana Walsh’s memory card has nothing on it. Just Michael Buble chirpin’ out some Sinatra songs! She hid the REAL card!
Jack: DAMMIT! I knew I shouldna killed that bee*otch!!!
Amazing scene but I wish they would’ve held off a little longer. I f’in love Katee Sackhoff and it was great to see another strong evil female on the show. I think they could have taken the storyline a little farther and done a lot more with the dynamic between Dana and Jack.
You REALLY need to work on your spoiler alerts. You start the article with a big spoiler alert, but the headline says shocking death and you put a big PICTURE of the dead character that appears on the blog page? Seriously, just take a look at it. Come on, is EW really that incompetent?
you say that but forget that Jack had that lesson in unrespected mercy already–NINA MEYERS. [2]
NO SPOILER? U HAD HER PICTURE THERE UNDER DEATH!
“because she’s a woman”? Puh-leaze! I’m a woman and I like many of the female charcters on 24, not the Dana arch… SEriously I hate when women use their gender as a blank card of an explanation that they can just pull out of their wallet when things don’t go as planned. Give me a break.
This had to happen because of RONALD D. MOORE; Producer of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. Killing off Dana was the ONLY WAY to rid the set of his curse! ALL of the actors from that show carry with them a palsy that drags down storylines and destroys ratings. Now that Moore has gone to Sony expect what they produce to fail miserably in quality and ratings!
