Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Arrested Development vet (and current Archer voice) will play Lauren’s (Cassie Scerbo) grandmother in an upcoming episode of ABC Family’s gymnastics series. (Something tells me Lauren got her feisty personality from her grandmother.)
The show has also tapped real-life Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin to make a special appearance. She’ll be keeping a close eye on the Rock girls as a commentator when they compete at a gymnastics meet in France.

On a scale from The Secret Life of the American Teenager to Chuck, how good is this show? Anyone?

It’s definitely better than Secret Life.
I love this show lol. It is a hundred percent better then secret life, not sure about chuck never seen it. But its a good show to watch when nothin else is on!

I love it, I think it’s good girly fun. A bit soap-opera-y of course, but it’s fun. Haven’t seen Secret Life. I love Chuck too, but I’m not sure how to compare them. They’re too different.
On that scale its a solid middle/ old school OC. Utter guilty pleasure surrounding high schoolers. Would do better to shift some more focus to adult stories ala Friday night lights. No chuck but worthy of amusing reduction in boredom.

Yeah that’s eaxactly what I’d say too. It’s maybe 3 notches above Secret Life. But about 8 notches below Greek.

If Chuck is your idea of the best show ever, then you will hate this show. I’m not saying Chuck is terrible (I am, in fact, a fan), just that it’s very much an old school WB show. I wouldn’t say it’s as terrible as Private Practice, it’s more of a season two Grey’s Anatomy… trashy, but a definite guilty pleasure.
Not appointment television, but more like leave on your DVR and watch when you are hungover or procrastinating.

She’s a great actress. Deserves much better than a random guest spot on some shows. I really hope she gets to star in a series that utilizes her well. She was one of the best parts of Arrested Development and thats saying something.
Agreed! Jessica Walter is an amazing actress and has great comedic timing… to be honest she deserves to be a better a show then Make it or Break it… now don’t get me wrong Make it or Break it is an entertaining show but J.W. is too good for this sub par cable drama/sitcom

When I see Jessica Walter, I still think back to that episode of Quincy where she played a woman who killed her twin sister and took her place.
I hope the producers don’t shunt Lauren’s dad off on another business trip when Grandma comes to visit. The actor who plays Steve Tanner is great, both underrated and underused IMO, and I want to see him face off with JW. Especially since Lauren is always looking out for her own agenda and will probably try to play them against each other.
