'Smallville' finale spoiler: Another provocative pic!

There are four things you need to know about the image below: It’s from next Friday’s can’t-miss Smallville finale; the action depicted occurs after the events featured in Photo No. 1; scoop on both images can be found in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly (on sale tomorrow); and, as promised, a clue will be embedded in this week’s Ask Ausiello. Are we still having fun?!

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Lauren

Only not. Been there, done this. Smallville should never just be a rip of L&C. That show: done & over.

      • Brian

It’s much more than Lois and Clark ever was.

      • Cara

So true. L&C was much superior in terms of Lois and Clark. Smaallville lacks and it’s cringe worthy to watch.

      • Melissa

Did you seriously have to reply to someone who is clearly excited, just to share your negative comment? What a sad life you live.

      • Eric

“Smallville should never just be a rip of L&C”
Yeah because we all know that show invented the Lois and Clark relationship. It’s not like there were comics or movies before that…
CHLARK IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN… GET OVER IT!

      • Christa

Oh, please! Like Clois fans don’t do the same on Chloe related articles? Just check the comments regarding Allison’s renewal contract. As soon as someone writes ‘Yay, I love Chloe’ there are Clois fans to call them retarded or deranged, complete with Chloe and Allison Mack bashing.

      • history101

Nah. Allison’s fans have a corner on actress bashing. Lana and Lois fans have usually been more classy than that. But Allison/chloe fans have always attacked the actors themselves. True gutter dwellers.

      • Kendra

I have to agree that Smallville turning into a redo of the 90′s L&C show. ICONIC Fail. I would much rather see more focus of the original concept: Clark becoming Superman, not his supposed life “after”. He needs to focus on flying, not sex with Lois.

      • Mary

First off, let’s get something straight here once and for all. Lois Lane made her first appearance in the first Superman comic EVER back in 1938. She is the only other character to be there since that first issue and in that issue, Clark asked her out on a date. The woman that Lois Lane was based on went on to be the creator of Superman’s wife. Lois has been the primary love interest of Superman in comics, movies, graphic novels, the animated series, and yes, there was a show in the 90′s specifically called “Lois and Clark.” BUT EVERY version of a Superman story is going to feature Lois Lane. Yes, Smallville is a prequel. But Smallville is in it’s 9th season now and the closer we get to the ending of Clark’s journey the closer we get to embracing the 70+ year history of this character. Smallville has put their own BEAUTIFUL stamp on this mythos over the last 9 years…but he’s a borrowed character from a much greater history just like Lois is. Smallville’s version of Lois Lane is probably the closest personality wise to what is presented in the modern comics. Now, if you don’t like Lois Lane…that’s your right. I would suggest you find another superhero to follow. There are PLENTY of other shows on TV and plenty of other heroes to read about or enjoy. I’m not sure Superman is EVER going to be for you.
But the “Lois and Clark” insults are not only old…but they flat out show your ignorance for what is a 70+ year old history of these two characters. They’ve been together since the beginning and they’ll be together till the end. You don’t like it? Tough. Find a new show.

      • Cody

        Well said, Mary.

      • Pam

LOIS AND CLARK WILL BE TOGETHER FOR ALWAYS AND FOREVER! (Caps lock on for emphasis). Take that haters :D

      • Mark

        Well done, Mary! Well done.

      • JimC

Double thumbs UP to Mary…very well put.

It amazes me that people feel the need to comment on a show that they don’t care for. Most of us here enjoy this show…that’s why we’re here. Why exactly are YOU here?

      • Zaphod

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up to Mary! Couldn’t have said it any better!

      • bgg

SMALLVILLE is in no way like L+Clark! L+C had promise early but it never was a great series. It started out realistic but quicly became a live action cartoon. Hatchers Lois was a pathetic simple minded throwback to female caricatures of the past. Dean Cain was ok as Clark but always looked awkward in the ultra shiny Superman costume. The show had a good Luthor w/John Shea but they ruined his ruined his character at the end of season 1.
Smallville has had 9 quality years. It has never, EVER been a formula show. It was a show about high school kids, now about adults. Of all the Superman movies and tv shows, this show has had the best casting of each comic character. The best writing. Guest casting. Costumes. Thats not a knock against Reeve but his Superman wasnt written as well as Tom Wellings so though Reeve was great, the character wasnt. Michael Rosenbaums Luthor has no rival! Erica Durance has given more depth and character to Lois than even the comics. Allison Mack and John Glover both have overexcelled in their non comic characters! Justin Hartley has recreated Oliver(Green Arrow) Queen into a real person with depth who is fun and interesting. The show has made great use of the “meteor freaks” as villians by getting around silly time consuming origins of “How I got my powers” and has went right into the stories instead.
As a longtime comic reader who’s read Superman but always felt the comics lacked severly, I have to say Smallville has bettered the Superman mythos! Lois and Clark does not deserve to be compared to Smallville! If it serves a nostalgic purpose to you leave it at that. But don’t attempt to say a simple minded, predictable farce is on the level of a show of great writing, producing, directing, casting, acting and dramatic entertainment like Smallville!

      • G

Oh Mary..Here is lies the problem..This isn’t your typical Lois and Clark series…
There is no Lois and Clark mumbo jumbo..The old fartcee boring tale..
        THis show is called Smallville..
About Clark and Chloe..As it should be..
I refer to you the Superman movie to fill the aching need for Lois and Clark!!

      • Lois&ClarkFanAnyForm

Actually…not! Just visit the site that has Lois & Clark Fanfic. It has a super loyal following even after over 10 years. There are hundreds of things written. I saw the show on DVD’s ten years after it finished on TV, and thought it actually REVOLUTIONIZED the Clark/ Lois relationship. Instead of this dumb theory that Lois would die by villains if they knew she was married to Superman, the comics first (not the show), made the modern Superman the man Clark Kent and his alter ego Superman. Yes, he was all about the action in the comics, but he became the husband of Lois Lane, and a good reporter, and a crime fighter. He had a house, probably a mortgage, and a life beyond crimefighting. That’s what actually made people get back into Superman! Superman dying and Clark and Lois finally getting married were some of the hottest and most sold out copies of Superman.

      • Lois&ClarkFanAnyForm

NOT a repeat. It is what the comics are, and their relationship. Smallville didn’t make it up. In fact, L&C with Dean and Terri WAS an idea started by the comics to market Superman.

    • Putri

Please, please let it be a real kiss!! I can’t wait for the finale.

      • TruthHurts

What you mean a real kiss? THEY’RE ALREADY DATING!

And who cares if Lois learns the secret, surprise, EVERYONE ON THE SHOW KNOWS HIS SECRET! What is so damn special about them kissing when we already saw them having sex in the future?

Seriously guys, this is just stupid.

      • Mary

Well, I guess that’s your perogative. It’s a good thing you don’t speak for everyone else on here. We are entitled to feel excited if we want to.

      • Emma

Because he’s clearly “the blur” in this shot. And if you read Ausiello’s other big reveal (about this happening in the dark) you know that she thinks she’s kissing “the blur” and not Clark. It’s created a weird love triangle.

      • Lois&ClarkFanAnyForm

Truth Hurts said it all! All of these people know his identity: Martha, Oliver, Chloe, Kristen, Lex Luthor Junior and Senior, Martian Hunter, Tess Mercer and her minions, Zod, Doomsday, even the twins this year, he revealed himself to them, Dr. Emil Hamilton, Tori Spelling’s character who could change to water, and others! LOIS IS THE ONLY REGULAR WHO IS NOT AWARE THAT CLARK KENT IS AN ALIEN WITH SUPER HUMAN POWERS! And she is supposed to be the love of his life, and enough hints have been dropped that they will be together forever, and he realizes he is deeply in love with her now, etc, etc. He knows she is one kick butt kind of girl, who can handle herself. He knows keeping that secret destroyed his relationship with Lana. Stupid to have him duplicate the same junk! TELL HER ALREADY!

    • anthony

that lois and clark finally its going to happened

    • shailee

yes i know!!!!!!!!!!! but she will prob forget everything in some twist :(

      • Oryx Puella

In the dark… *sigh* Well…I knew it was too good to be true. :’(

  • SR

    OMG YOU ARE KILLING US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Olea

I can die a happy puppy tonight!!!!

  • Chris

Oh this has a Jor-El mind wipe written all over it (after the kiss that is)

    • Olea

No don’t say that. I hated the mind-wipe kiss in Superman II. Besides, does Clark know how to do that yet?

      • Brian

It’s not even a power he has anywhere except the movies, so it’s probably (hopefully) not something he’ll ever learn on Smallville.

      • Alex

he knows how to get jor-el to do it. isn’t that what he did to chloe in season 8 or something?

      • Shaun

Nope,it was Lana a few seasons ago.

      • Beth

but wasn’t there a spoiler that clark gets a new power…?
        uh oh.
        now i’m reaaally worried.

      • kristina

        He got freeze breath already

    • stan

      Agreed!

    • Barb

      Nah. Her eyes are closed.

    • Alisa

“Oh this has a Jor-El mind wipe written all over it . . .”

      LOL!

It’s the ole erase Lois’ mind plot device!

    • Veronica

That’s right! I just had a flashback to Superman 2.

  • kristina

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone get me a paper bag – I can’t breathe!

    • Chris

I’ll need a bag too. My lunch is coming back up.

      • athena606

        stop hating!!

      • Ruby

Hey chris, once your done barfing in the bag, can you please give it to me,so i throw the vomit in your face.

        GOOOOOOOOOOO Clois.

      • pow

LOL. Ruby, you win at life.

      • Sue Denim

        Ha. Couldn’t help but laugh.

    • Jem

TOO FUNNY. Paper bags for everyone!

  • djrbrown

    About damn time

  • Keia

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
OMG! Is Lois going to finally learn the truth!!!!!

    • TruthHurts

And she’ll join, Oliver, Tess, Lana, Chloe, Lex, Lionel, Pete, John Jones, Martha, Jonathan, Zod, Kara, the Kandorians, 1/2 of inmates in Belle Reeves, The Mexican kid, Veritas clan, AC, Bart, Victor, Jimmy….

It’s no big deal if she learns… it’s no longer a big secret…

Don’t hate me, hate TPTB that tainted the specialness of Clark and Lois.

      • Pam

They’ll always be special to me. This is the one that matters. Forget Zod, everyone must kneel before Lois Lane. Erica is amazing and Tom Welling is Superman.

    • G

      Not happening!!

  • Chloe must die (but I hope not yet)

Okay, he’s in the “El” family get-up, so the secret must be out. What Superman trick does he use to “erase” the memory?

    • Sarita

      no, no, no, no.

    • Brian

If ANYTHING like the mind-rape from Superman 2 happens, I’ll be incredibly pissed. Biggest cop-out (and moral dilemma, when he uses it again in Superman 4) ever.

    • charliej

He gets the book that zod is looking for, learns all the secrets of the book and uses the knowledge to defeat zod and wipe lois mine

  • Snack

    FINALLY!!!

  • Frank

He’s kissing lois as the blur?

  • Smallville Fanatic

    Blech! Get a room.

  • ANN

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t type properly because of this image!

  • Bruce

Marvin Gaye > The Blur and his secret.

    “Let’s get it on!”

  • Eddie
