Smart move for Jay-Z to dedicate his Young Forever performance to Betty White. I think that this might be one of the best SNLs since the Eddie Murphy/Joe Piscopo era of the 1980s. Those Eddie/Joe helmed skits of SNL are still talked about to this day a strong 25 plus years later!
Betty white is great unfortunally she lives at the mercy of the bad writing on saturday night live. I have watched saturday night live for years and the writing is progressively getting worse. At times Even the live studio audience has no response to the sappy skits end of comedians sit there with a blank look on their face waiting for alplaus

Brian, do your relatives work for SNL? I loved the BW ep, but the people who didn’t are entitled to their opinions without being called names. I’m not sure why you’re taking everything so personally. I can only conclude you have a vested interest, or absolutely no life.
Hilarious how Tony talks about SNL’s bad writing. Apparently, he hasn’t read his OWN writing! He obviously didn’t pay attention in elementary school.
Did anyone ever see White on The Mary Tyler Moore show? Betty was funny and positively vicious. It was great.
Chloris Leachman should be next. I love Carol Burnett a lot, but remember a couple years ago when she sued “Family Guy” for a sexual reference. I don’t think she would be comfortable with the required sexual jokes needed to make SNL funny.

Betty White was fantastic. She remains a shining star and a real spitfire who can outshine folks who are twenty. My biggest problem is the horrible writing. Like someone else said, they do try to lower themselves to the lowest of intellect. Come on. I mean lame jokes about body parts for no reason? Who writes this stuff? Five year-olds? SNL needs to get adults to write again. Those SNL News updates which used to be the cornerstone of the show are now boulders of misfortune.

Betty White was AMAZING. I love SNL anyway but to see Betty in action and the old and new SNL cast was really great. I haven’t loved like this in a long long time. I just hope Betty is in the McGruber movie coming out later this month as that would guarantee to make it a success. GREAT JOB BETTY AND SNL!!!!!
I don’t even watch SNL but I voted on FB for her and I watched last night for sure!! She was AWESOME!!

Haven’t watched SNL for years, but last night I watched it. Betty White, is such a dear lady, her scenes were the best.Go Betty!
Bring Betty back next year with 70′s SNL cast. Keep Betty going! Her glib humor and subtle “racey” comments started decades ago, and helped to pave the way for SNL etc. Thank you!

Betty White-that’s why I stayed up to watch SNL instead of dvr’ing it. She is a class act. Loved Tina Fey,Amy Poehler and the other ladies back too. Havent laughed so hard at SNL in years except for Justin Timerberlake’s Jack in the Box.NEED BETTER WRITING ON SNL-yes miss Tina and Amy and the other ladies back for the night etc. but the writing usually falls so flat week to week. I dvr so I can fast forward-usually disappointed except for Seth Meyers weekend update.Spend the $$$ bring back the talent and spend$$$$ new writing blood!
