Exclusive: I've seen the 'Gossip Girl' finale and it's [major spoiler alert]!

gossip-girlImage Credit: Giovanni Rufino/The CWI guess it’s “really, really, good” isn’t much of a spoiler. But it’s accurate. The May 17 Gossip Girl sendoff features big payoffs, several OMG! twists, and a Georgina comeback. Enough, if you ask me, to more than make up for an uneven (but not nearly as bad as some people have said!) season. Most importantly, Chuck/Blair fans freaking out over a certain spoiler-laced European trailer that shows the couple nearing third base should simmer down and judge things after watching the entire hour — a sentiment echoed by exec producer Stephanie Savage.

“I really encourage people who have seen that promo to tune in and watch the whole episode in context,” she pleads. “Those were a few moments that were taken out of context to create the most salacious experience possible. And some people who are having a negative reaction to what they’re seeing I think will have a different reaction when they see it in context. Everyone’s making decisions that are reasonable based on the information that they have.”

In other words, Savage and Co. wouldn’t do you, or your faves, wrong. “This is a story that has been three years in the telling — going back to the pilot,” she reminds us. “And that’s a story that we’ll keep telling in season 4. So I don’t think it’s coming out of nowhere. And it lands on everybody. It lands on Dan, Blair, Serena, Rufus, Lily, Nate — every single person has a POV about this, and we’re going to see these ripple effects over time. “

For now, though, here are eight tantalizing teases to calm you down, wind you up or, most likely, both. Next Monday’s capper will include a:

·      Threesome
·      Departure
·      Mini time-jump
·      Engagement ring!
·      Shooting
·      Birth
·      Shocking OMG! twist
·      A pair of spectacular Jenny smackdowns at the hands of Blair (Leighton Meester never better!)

Feel better now? Get it all out of your system below.

    Can’t wait :-)

I, for one, am so sick of the producers feeling they have to “apologize” or “explain” their actions and ultimate intent regarding the Chuck/Blair storyline. Are the viewers so stupid and fickle that they’ll flee if they don’t get to witness their weekly makeout session involving C/B?

Are the producers so insecure with their show that their hands are now tied by 13-year-old girls who, against all reason, refuse to accept any storyline other than a boring Chuck and Blair lying around in bed together?

You wonder why this season has been “uneven?” Maybe the producers are spending too much time listening to snot-nosed 6th graders who don’t have a clue about story arcs and character development.

      Ya think?

      • uhhuh

ummm thank you, my thoughts exactly

      • Amy Leigh

        THIS so much.

      • Anon

I couldn’t agree more. It’s ridiculous. I actually was a fan of the Blair-chuck pairing but it’s become so over exposed and over hyped I’m glad to see some other plotlines for a change.

      • Kelly

You’ve put my thoughts into words.

      • funnyfacects

I agree with Jason! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Blair and Chuck are so boring once the game is up… People need to stop investing so much into characters, they have to grow and change!

      • Melissa

Actually no I don’t think. Also, you keep mentioning 13 year olds and 6th graders as if they are the only age group that watch this show…yet here you are taking the time to post something about the show…how old are you exactly?

    • Jenn

Get over it-Chuck and Blair symbolize something more than all these other petty little flings in the show. Any mature viewer who has experienced life would be aware of this. Oh, and by the way, I am much older than 6th grade.

      • ar

        Wait…Gossip Girl has mature viewers??

  • Amanda

    omg!! im super excited :)

Sounds good… I hope that it delivers!

It doesn’t matter what the CONTEXT is in. IF Chuck has S-E-X with Jenny it is O-V-E-R

    • Stephanie

      Agree !

    • Bruce_F

Yeah, the guy who almost date-raped Jenny would never actually have sex with her. I’m sure all the booze and the blow he’s doing is keeping him level-headed.

As far as Jenny goes, I’m sure that her being such and emotionally mature and stable young woman with a knack for making good life choices would prevent her from making such a monumental mistake.

      C’mon, people. Seriously!?

      • Kat

        Lol.

      • lily

        THIS. so true.
i think it looks terrible from a character point of view for C – showing a terrible regression, making it v difficult to ship him. Given his experience, his years (over J) and the rape attempt in the pilot, this pairing is SICK SICK SICK vom inducing.

  • Sarah

It doesn’t matter what the CONTEXT is in. IF Chuck has S-E-X with Jenny it is O-V-E-R

    • Tha Phoenix

right? There is no such thing as ‘context’ when it comes to something like that. Just, fail. Epic FAIL.

      • Michael

It was a UK ITV2 promo, not a CW promo, so my guess is that nothing was taken out of context. The promo is what it is. Looks to me like Stephanie Savage is pissed and has Ausiello doing damage control for her.

      • Sarah

I agree. Blair being late for the Empire State Building and Chuck thinking she doesn’t show is not CONTEXT decision reasoning to make it okay for Chuck to have sex with Jenny.

I am disgusted if they try to even use that as an excuse.

      • Michael

Also according to comments on the youtube video, the UK promo was pulled and isn’t airing anymore…

    • Stephanie

      Agree !

    OMG

This sounds like Melrose Place 2.0…Does anyone even still watch this? I mean I know EW loves talking about GG even though it’s ratings are pretty low.

    • Miss Talk

No matter the ratings, Gossip Girl still has some potential. That’s why we keep on watching. The cast is on point (even Taylor who sucks now), the first two seasons did big but on this third season, the writing and the ploting sucked big time.
The producers have some major changes to make for the next season: n°1 getting rid of Taylor Momsen and N°2 hiring a new showrunner with a new and fresh vision (Sorry Stephanie S).

      • Jules

Tons of people watch GG online/itunes. It’s TV ratings have never matched the actual # of viewers.
Miss Talk–you are WRONG. SS is not being replaced. She’s in Paris right now scouting locations for the S4 shoot. And Taylor is only missing part of S4 b/c her band is on the warped tour. She is returning.

What they need to do is keep Vanessa in Haiti. Having her miss several episodes is a start. But not long enough!!

      • huh?

what about getting rid of jessica szohr?

      • Julie

@Jules #1…Miss Talk didn’t say that she WAS being replaced but that she SHOULD be replaced.

  • Chif

Threesome again. Meh. But i’m still excited!!
