I dont think she is right for this, but she does have the natural beauty of a fairy. Then again i would have picture ana to play sookie either but she has grown on me. I can’t picture anyone else to play these roles however.

  • HeatherB

I am quite satisfied with her being Claudine. Claudine is my favorite character from the books and even though they say she is like a super model.. it’s also said that she’s not extremey young either. Anyways, very happy..everyone’s definition of gorgeous is different and technically it was an “aura” that she gave off that attracted people to her (as well as her beauty) so I think she is a fine choice.

  • anthony

She’s her cousin not her fairy god mother

  • Wallace

    Me too!

  • lucas

never underestimate the power of makeup and FX

  • Axie

    agreed.

  • Catherine

I hadn’t thought about Forbes as Claudine, but now that you mention it, she would have been a good choice.

  • Patricia

    Me too!!!!!

  • RustyT

10 years ago, maybe, but Claudine is supposed to look supernaturally youthful. Michelle Forbes is 45, according to IMDB.

  • sharon falconer

    Always remember:

It takes a fairy to make it merry. :)

  • Brett

That photo makes her look like “Mother Nature” from the tampon commercials.

  • nacho mama

Carlos? Looking for you on the old TB boards.

  • Tarc

Wood’s performance as Sophie Anne has been terrific so far. Ball did tweak the chaaracter a little bit (since the book Sophie Anne was much too much like Claudia from Interview With A Vampire).

  • Liz

Evan was wonderful in that role! People don’t like her just because she is a bit… weird and goes out with Manson. BUT she is a great actress, and a great Queen Sophie Anne.

  • MG

I agree, I think Wood has done a great job as Queen Sophie-Ann so far. The character from the books wasn’t very TV adaptable. She was very quiet, very boring, and that doesn’t translate well to TV. I like that Alan Ball has changed that up a bit, it makes it more interesting. I love all the characters on the show! They are all fascinating, different and unique!

  • Amanda

I think Christian Kane from the TNT show Leverage would make an awesome Claude! Just my opinion but he does have the body for it!

  • Yesenia

Oh good memory. Totally forgot that.

  • Rica

I never would have thought of him! Great idea!

  • Rebecca

I don’t think he’s tall enough. I always pictured Claude as very tall and dark haired. I think Richard Armitage would make a fantastic Claude. They’ve already played siblings on RH, and we need to see more Richard on American TV. :)

  • Laura

That’s not bad, but what about Eric Bana? He’s tall and has curly dark hair. I think he’d make a pretty good Claude.

  • Flyer

I completely second the suggestion about Richard Armitage. He’s certainly tall with dark hair, and there were comments when Lara Pulver was cast in Robin Hood about how much they looked like brother and sister. He’s a wonderful actor, and it would be so nice to see him on American TV for once.

  • Lisa

Agreed! She’s not as I pictured her, either. I know I get very picky about accuracy, but it’s kind of important to her role as fairy that she be irresistibly gorgeous!

  • Abbie

I agree with you 100%, she’s not what the books describe!!

  • Coco

None of the actors, except maybe thoes playing Sam and Arlene, look anything like how I envisioned. I have long ago resigned myself to treating the books and show as to completely separate entities.

  • NR

Not nearly pretty enough. As for Claude, I imagine him as Cillian Murphy.

  • Kaybar

Exactly my thought. Both Claudine and her brother Claude are supposed to be incredibly beautiful. This actress doesn’t seem to reach that level.

  • kellybelly

Lara Pulver is GORGEOUS. That little inset pic – she just looks pretty. Check out other pics of her on imdb.com – you’ll change your mind.

  • andy2700

Saffron Burrows would have been a great choice. She’s just about 6ft tall and quite a looker…

  • Liz

Hey! Sookie’s great! She is not perfect, but none of the characters on True Blood are!

  • Jessie

Except for Eric. Damn, that man is sexy.

  • Liza

Yeah, Eric is perfect in EVERY way!!! wooooooo . . .

  • yoshira

Iam with you Jesse, that man is awesome!!!! Alexander…!!(aka eric)

  • Liz

I think you meant Bill. Or more exactly Bill & Sookie together are perfect…. :)

  • Abbie

And also, according to the books (which from what I gather, the show doesn’t follow exactly) the Fairy relative of Sookie & Jason doesn’t like Jason very much. (the reason doesn’t come out until the 9th book)

  • RustyT

There’s a big fairy connection, indeed. Jason turns out to be a dead-ringer for another fairy who appears in the 2 most recent books. The fairies don’t exactly look like Sookie; that isn’t their connection to her…

  • Carla

To keep spoilers to a minimum, Jason is the same as Sookie, and technically, Claudine would look after both Jason and Sookie. Nuff said.

  • Sarah

all i am going to say with out giving to much away is NO Jason will not get a FAIRY god mother. No Jayson is not the same as Sookie according to the books. I have read all of them and i cant get enough

  • Michele

No Jason does as far as I know. I am only on the 7th book. Claudine is related to them. But it seems that Sookie is the only one who carries the “fairy gene”. I was kind of shocked that trueblood put that in the show so early since it’s not found out until the 6th book…towards the end. I can’t remember though when Claudine is introduced into the books I think the fourth book I am just wondering if Claude..Claudine brother will make an appearance.

  • dragondeathlord

No he not. He carries Fairy Blood but the Genes Did not show up much.He smells Human. Sookie Smells Fairy. That and the fact she Telepathic and he not is a small clue. LOL
On the TV show he’s got human Blood and she dose not.Sookie a Throwback Jason is not.

  • Christie

In case you don’t know, Tara in the books is white–the actress playing the part certainly isn’t so Ball isn’t casting according to the books.
And Claudine and Claude are fairies–they don’t have a locale as they come from between worlds. The photo shoot contrast is because Sookie is a blue-eyed blonde and Claude (and Claudine) have ‘rippling’ dark hair and brown eyes according to the books. They’re also both six feet tall, which would be a contrast to Sookie’s much smaller height. And Claudine is never described as carmel-skinned. Sookie likens her to chocolate because she’s irresistablly beautiful–especially to vampires. If anyone is ‘carmel’ it’s Sookie because of her constant love of tanning herself in the sun!

  • Tarc

Well, Tara is a completely different character than the one in the books (and has a completley different purpose in the narrative), so that’s not a particularly great example of color-blind casting. Everyone else is racaill cast as described, as far as I know (not that it matters to me – I’m glad for the diversity on TV!). I’d have to look back, but I’m pretty positive that Claudine and sibs were dark skinned. I remember thinking that was very interesting, because the fey are invariably portrayed as white-skinned in other works. Occasionlly, you’ll get dark elves, but they aren’t the same as fey (typically).

  • MG

Charlaine Harris describes Claude and Claudines skin as translucent, and has the texture of a plum, but I always got the impression that they are white with dark hair and dark eyes. This actress looks perfect for the role- with makeup and FX I’m sure she will be ethereally beautiful.

  • Sarah

For some reason, I thought I remembered the books describing Claudine’s skin as a creamy white. But maybe I am misremembering.

  • Coco

Maybe I am wrong, but I could have sworn that Claudine/ Claude were described as pale with very thin skin that is nearly translucent.

  • Machunny

Seriously? Eric is exactly what I imagined. Blonde, 6’4″ Viking? His character has been assassinated in TB, but Alexander Skarsgard it was casting genius. The Sam and Jason characters are pretty spot-on, too. Bill, not so much, and Sookie, not even close.

  • RustyT

Cillian Murphy is a great suggestion! Or maybe Matthew Bomer who’s on “White Collar.” Has to be someone who can play gay very well…

  • Aq

I think Jonathan Rhys Meyers from Tudor would make a fantastic Claude as someone who has read all the books…and i wouldn’t have cast that chick as claudine…just sayin

  • dragondeathlord

Cillian Murphy ? No way lack’s the male slut factor and not enough Mussels nor vanity. Who ever plays him would need to be like a Flaming Gay Conan the Barbarian. Who in love with mirrors.

  • spikenalabama

I also agree. She is not at all what I had pictured. Don’t know who I would choose, but not her.

  • Rockin

I thought of Gil Marie from Brother & Sister for Claude. He’s tall, dark and va va voom! He just needs the long gair. That is not how I pictured Claudine either but maybe it will work. Sophie Anne was supposed to be a teenager.

  • Laura

    Timothy Olyphant…scrumptuous and a great actor…

  • andy2700

    SAFFRON BURROWS!!

  • HeatherB

I agree that Quinn will probably be the hardest to cast.

  • dragondeathlord

True but she lacks the Wench Factor. And let’s be honest Claudine a flirting Buxom Wench.Who loves to tease men with sex that will not happen and Vampires with a Drink thats even less likely. But she loves to tease. But the way she played here it’s neat but it’s no Claudine.
It’s Like having shakespeare Level actress play a part for Marilyn Monroe. Oh wait that exactly what it’s like. And she doing a bad Job and not capturing the part at all. When I first read Claudine I thought Bar Wench or Succubus,a Mage Call Girl. I WAS SHOCKED To find out she was a Royal Fairy.
Lara Pulver looks like Queen not a flirt and messing up the role. Could be bad Writing but still it’s cast Very wrong.
