Breaking: Fox renews 'Lie to Me' and 'Human Target'

THIS JUST IN: Although there’s no official word from Fox, sources confirm that the network is thisclose to picking up Lie to Me for a 13-episode third season. Fox has also opted to bring back struggling freshman drama Human Target for a 13-episode second season, with Chuck co-executive producer Matthew Miller coming on board to serve as co-showrunner alongside Jonathan Steinberg.

So much for all that Sophie’s Choice chatter!

On the new-series front, Fox has picked up dramas Ride-Along (from ex-Lie to Me boss Shawn Ryan) and Lone Star, as well as comedies Traffic Light and Keep Hope Alive.

I hope this isn’t the final nail in Human Target’s coffin but it most likely is.

    Damn it.

      Hm,

When I first clicked on this news article it mentioned that Human Target was also picked up for a 13 episode second season.. but now it says Human Target is a goner. So confused!

The “goner” prediction was the first version of the article and the news of Human Target’s renewal was tacked on a little later (and after my original post).

good to hear fox is giving these two series a lil more time esp. human target. fox is known for cancelling stuff too soon and not giving series a chance. so will see.

Guess this means Human Target is dead…

No offense to Human Target and its fans, but I am very happy about Lie to Me.

None taken. I like Lie to Me also and it should be better again now that Shawn Ryan is gone.

Lie To Me doesn’t have a lot of shelf-life. Tim Roth is annoying, and the characters are so bland.

I think S3 could be its last.

    • Vikki Sixx

I have to wonder what show you’re watching because it obviously isn’t Lie To Me.

      • Suzanne

I agree. The characters r anything but bland. Sometimes Roth’s character is annoying b/c he is supposed to be. Gregory House is certainly more than a little annoying and it is one of my fav shows!

kill this show, keep human target

i almost wanna say i agree with u. as i like human target a lil more than lie to me. but i be sad to see lie to me go. fox always gets rid of the best shows too soon.
