    Wha? Wha? Wha?
GH has some of the WORST acting in soaps today.
Those idiots who play Sonny and Jason stutter terribly and seem to be forever in search for a teleprompter.
The rebooted Lucky is bit of a pansy. (I wish someone would point out to him that he can’t grow facial hair.)
The Corinthos kids are all whiny, disposable brats.

    • SoapsFan

Really? have you seen OLTL or BB or ATWT? Watch those soaps and come again with the worst actors in soaps.

      • Grapes

I guess it’s all relative, but Bernard and Burton are consistently awful.

      • KC

Both Monica and Bobby have faces that are pulled back tighter than a virgin on a prom date.

      • shuna

General Hospital is number 1 show.

      • Vikki Sixx

Actually, GH isn’t the number one show. That would be Y & R. That being said…GH does have it’s share of horrible actors but also has some of the best in daytime (Jane Elliot comes to mind). And ATWT actually has some great actors, too. I agree that B &B has horrible actors, though.

      • Dr. Chim Richalds

The veterans of the ATWT cast can act circles around the GH cast. FACT.

    • Candice

GH has the best soap actors around!!!!!!!!!!! such a talented cast! I have tried watching other soaps and the acting is so “daytime”

      • ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

You must not get out too much.

    • bringbackrocky

Clearly you have no sense of GH history because the “pansy” Lucky you are referring to (Jonathan Jackson) is the original actor to play Lucky and has already won 3 Emmys for playing that role. And if the show has such bad acting, why are you watching it?

      • phil

        nice one

      • Lauren

I was going to point out the same thing. I was THRILLED when I found out that Jonathan Jackson was coming back. He can say more with one look in his eyes then most actors can say with a page of dialogue.

    • jag

“Sonny” could be a fine actor if he stopped trying to be the Godfather. Poor Jason is limited to two expressions because of his “brain” injuries. Isn’t it time that his brain recovers? Must be a bloody bore to play that role.

      • SueN

LOL! Jason is the most boring character on the show. AJ was much more fun to watch, even when he was losing it.

    • Sonya

GH is the best soap on tv. The only one I watch. If you don’t like the actors sonny, Jason,& Lucky then why are you still watching it! They are HOT!

    • shuna

Why are you hating on GH? Jealous maybe? Anyways They deserve these nominations.. GH Rocks!!!!

    • shuna

Come on if you don’t like the show, then don’t watch it. Its that simple. GH ROCKS!!!

    • hillary

I have been watching GH for 10 years, and they have written some of the BEST story lines, along with the same boring “whos the baby daddy” but still and the acting is really great, i always feel like its real. i also watch OLTL and i like it, but i like the stories more then the acting. their all really bad actors

    • Linda

Don’t know what your idea of good or bad actors but you certainly don’t know them the cast of GH is one of the most talented on TV period. And Jonathan Jackson is the orginal and best Lucky there has ever been I have watched this show since he came on and when he left there was a real presence missing. Look at the scenes he has with Luke and they are some of the best on TV. Go take your meds you need them.

    • Sarah

I think GH will win Best Daytime Drama. I really hope Doug Davidson wins Best Actor because I think he’s done his best acting this year. Really glad to see him recognized for that.

    • Leah

GH is absolutely the best show in daytime…it’s the only soap i watch, all the actors are extremely talented…and jason is the hottest thing to watch.

    • manny

who died and made you critic god

  • Candice

Happy to see GH is leading in nominations! By far this is the best soap opera on today! Hopefully they’ll win the big prize; Outstanding Drama Series!

  • Brenda Barrett

Could the nominating committee be any more out of touch? GH is the WORST soap on the air. The show’s writing is great if you like misogyny and glorified violence; otherwise, not so much.

    • Rocky

Agreed. I used to love that show but just couldn’t take any more of the fab four, Sonny, Jason, Carly, and Sam.

I will, however, come back if your namesake, Brenda Barrett, comes back!

    • Leah

how could you possibly think that, i’ve seen some of the other soaps and they are absolutely ridiculous…if you hate it so much then stop watching!

  • guilty pleasure

AMC nominated for best drama and writing?!?!?!!?!?!? WTF?!?!?!?!?!? No nominations for Kish?!?!?!?!?!?!? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Bobbie Eakes nominated for lead actress?!?!?!?!?!?!? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • j

Very sad that David Canary (Adam, AMC) wasn’t nominated for Best Actor that would be a fantastic going away present!!

  • Rachel Ray MUST Win

Rachel Ray MUST win an Emmy. It will be a victory for clean, pure, wholesome Republican America! Let’s make it happen people, just as we’ll make the removal of the One-Termer happen!!!

    • Langley Wallingford

      Go away.

    • Jimmy

      Republican? Wholesome? GAG.

    • Hmmm…

You mean clean, pure and wholesome like the Republican politicians with their mistresses, hookers, male prostitutes, affairs with pages, and men’s room trysts?

      • JLC7930

Yeah, cause only Republicans have mistresses. Are you really that naive?

    • Farris Flagg

The Show Won Last Year, But Her Ratings For Her Show Are Down.

      • Rachel Ray MUST Win

Unlike a certain One-Termer, RR will get a repeat victory! HAH! FACT!

      • Rachel Ray’s Vagina

        I’m actually liberal.

    • mardi

Does everything need to be political? I think not!

  • susie356

    • Luv2LuvYa

OOOOhhhh Weeeee! Me too, Susie Q! Imma be all over you like a hen’s butt on a egg yolk! Yee Haw!

  • Zak

GH is awesome! Not sure if it’s the best, because it’s the only one I watch, but I think the storylines are always very dramatic and entertaining while the acting is incredible. Thanks, EW, for covering daytime dramas.

  • Christy

Just a note, there’s a typo above. Maura West plays CARLY Tenney, not Carla Tenney.

    • Ionut

about a movie how do we know she said this we waited so long for gnihts and then find out its not true the only true thing we know is about the movie and ceasers she never said about a live dvd or cd she needs to say more in a interview then just talk about ceasers or obamaVA:F [1.9.15_1155]please wait…VA:F [1.9.15_1155](from 0 votes)

  • Annie

Personally, I want Drew Garrett to win younger leading actor and give GH the finger for firing him, then have Y&R hire him as Jack’s son Kyle! Yes, I am still bitter about his firing (LOL)

    • Amber

ITA with and our facebook page for Drew has been growing more and more and he called the girl who started and told her thank you to her and all his fans for our support. What a nice guy to take the time!I hope he wins and Says “Suck It ABC”!

  • andrea

I am a big GH watcher and even I know that this was the year of disappointment. The only story they focused on is the Mob. They had several stores that they started on and either had a lame conclusion or just dropped, mid story.
Part of one storyline was a MOB guy shooting a cop that turned out to be his son. The Mob guy got off and blamed everyone but himself because he didn’t know it was his son. Pathetic!!

    • anonymous

I can’t stand that mob guy. He’s always blaming everyone but himself for his crimes and then he throws a pity party every time someone calls him out.

  • Buzz

    the list link ain’t working!

  • graeme

Nice to see Bonnie Hunt nominated after she was snubbed last year. She deserves to win.

    • mardi

I AGREE! I will miss her!

  • Mel.

What? No Ellen for talk show host? C’mon!

    • Johnny

Ellen did not submit her name for the best talk show host category.

      • Mel.

Ah, I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info!
