THIS JUST IN: ABC cancels 'Romantically Challenged,' 'Scrubs,' 'Better Off Ted,' and 'FlashForward'

Amid a flurry of renewals tonight comes word from multiple sources that ABC has axed the Alyssa Milano-headlined freshman comedy Romantically Challenged. Read the full post.

    I didn’t expect Flash Forward or V to last. I liked FF more than V, especially since the ever-present “hiatus” (what is with all those, anyway?). But TBH I didn’t see anymore plot lines after one season for FF. How could that storyline continue, no matter how much you suspend your belief?

      I think it could have continued. I mean alot of people never thought “Lost” could continue and we see how long that lasted.

    I liked Flashforward. What really makes me upset is V is just embarrassingly bad, I mean, really, bad.

        V is one of the worst shows that has come along in a long time. It is amazing what the execs will back and that they won’t. If it is even the least bit interesting, they will ax it!

    I’m not surprised, but I’m sad to lose FlashForward. As others have said, it got really good after the hiatus…

    Dang! I’m really enjoying Flashforward too…I’m hoping this is one of those things where some one goes “Cancelled? You must’ve misheard me. I clearly said renewed forever….forever…forever…”

      Robert Sawyer (who wrote “FF”) said in an interview I read that they had filmed an alternate ending if it was not picked up. That said, even with that, I think they are going to have a hard time wrapping things up with just two episodes left in a way which is satisfactory.

    Did anyone watch that Alyssa Milano show? It was absolutely horrible. Poor writing and lame characters. Seemed like a cheesy sitcom from the early 80s. The show couldn’t get off the air soon enough.

    I am honestly highly upset right now. I know it was most likely gonna happen. But Better Off Ted was one of the greatest, most original, clever comedies I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. 2 Seasons are better than none….I do have to say that the chances of me actually watching a new series is slim. I’ll just wait til it’s canceled and watch them on DVD.

    Seriously, BoT before The Middle as part of the Comedy Block, like why didn’t this EVER cross ABC’s minds? I mean, they almost over-played Modern Family w/ the 8 pm reruns. I had to switch my TiVo to “new only” because it was getting to be – too much. I’ll miss Ted, though. *sigh*

      as a huge scrubs fan. HUGE. i can’t help but agree. this past season ruined the finale last season. sure it might not have been the best, but it was still a fitting end to the show. speaking of the best, i’m obviously the only one here mourning the loss of better off ted. at least jay harrington (ted) has a new pilot coming up soon so here’s hoping.

    I’m really going to miss BOT, but since the main actor was lining up a new gig, I kinda knew it was coming..

    I guess I’m the only one who wanted to give Scrubs: Med School a chance?

      No. “V” has gotten worse. It only gets decent ratings because it follows “lost”, but you’ll notice that the one week it lost its “Lost” lead-in that it tanked in the ratings and I think that speaks volumes to how it’ll do on its own next year. It’s a terrible show that will undoubtedly tank next year. “FF” was a much better show.

    Flash Forward canceled? Oh No! I thought that show was MUCH better than V. V is kind of dull…IMHO.
