Image Credit: Sylvain Gaboury/PR Photos; David Gabber/PR Photos;Tina Gill/PR PhotosABC just announced three more pickups for fall – and this time, it’s dramas! Generation Y is a documentary-style dramedy that tracks the life of former high schoolers; it stars Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield) and Jaime King (Gary, Unmarried). Detroit 1-8-7 stars Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and takes a light-hearted look at Detroit’s top homicide division, while The Whole Truth is a legal drama that shows the case of a week from both sides. It stars Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) and Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck).
More pickups are expected soon. The network will announce its fall lineup to advertisers on Tuesday in New York. For more news about fall 2010, follow us at @EWAlerts.
ABC picks up comedies starring Elisha Cuthbert, Matthew Perry

So sad and predictable. More cops and legal shows that are wrapped in a hour for ADD America lol
Can we stop with the legal and cop shows
Sound like 3 losers!
Is the Detroit one the one that Ana Ortiz is part of?
Yawn…sounds terrible.
“…a light-hearted look at Detroit’s top homicide division…”
Seriously? Light-hearted homicide?
And then a new legal drama showing both sides of every case which means even less time for character development. I’m sure they ‘will be ripped from the headlines’ like every other one.
I know it was NBC, but I feel compelled to say this:
“Law & Order is dead, long live Law & Order!”
Light hearted I can hardly wait…
Waaaaay to many cop, lawyer, and doctor shows. Hollywood writers are so frickin’ lazy, do something fresh and original!!! I can’t stand it!!!!
People complain about all the cop, lawyer and doctor shows….and then that’s all they ever watch. Every time TV tries something unusual, Firefly, Pushing Daisies, Moonlight, etc. it flat-out bombs. And then we get more of the same.
Tracks the life of former high schoolers? Let me guess: they all move to Williamsburg and f up property values.
Oh man — these shows sound just awful. PLEEEEEASE ABC — don’t f it up after LOST!
Is Detroit 1-8-7 gonna make jokes about all the open cases that they can’t solve, and how if there are less than 300 murders in the city in one year then we’re doing pretty good?
