I love these interviews with Shonda Rhimes that you score on Private Practice and Grey’s. Have you updated that season finale score card thingy? I hope so…
character montages need a comeback, i think the episode could’ve used one… sad to see Dell go, but not surprised. Hell, he wasn’t even a regular this season. LOL he was like on/off with the show. Plus they had matured him greatly. His character did reach the end. Chris did a bang-up job with this episode, and the emotion. He played that scene with Betsy, like it was going to be his last, but with this calm. I’ll miss him, then again – I was happy CC are engaged and SA are official.
Kind of figured Dell was the one to be killed off. It wouldn’t have made sense for anyone else too. Dell’s storyline was played out. They could have had him go off to college and be a real doctor, but with this cast and the storylines that they lead Dell’s story was different than everyone else’s. Dell fit more with Greys Anatomy than Private Practice, if that makes sense. So sure it sucks that he died but honestly it wasn’t that big of a shock or blow to the show.

I am so sorry for Dell, he really was a good character.

I HATE Addison and Sam together…yes–they are both sexy, but they have zero chemistry together. I mean, I’m glad to see Addison get some peace, and I think that Pete and Violet really are the better couple, but Sam and Addison do not work. Where is this show gonna go? I give the writers credit for putting all the characters through emotional wringers this year, but they also have written everyone into corners….
I disagree. I actually think that by ending the season where the majority of the main characters are in a very hopeful place opens up more opportunities. I don’t think anyone has been written into a corner. We’ve seen a season of these people trying so hard to be happy, to overcome things that have happened to them, to heal their hearts… and now we get to see what happens. Life isn’t easy, even when someone gets what they want/deserve and I think it will be interesting to see that. Especially with Addison, we now get to see what happens once she gets to be happy. We’ve never, even on Grey’s, seen her get to be happy. That’s the opposite of being written in a corner…

Well I had given up on Private Practice a couple of weeks ago, and while killing Dell was not a factor in me saying this, Private Practice will not be on my DVR next year… wish Addison would go back to Grey’s but I am probably giving up on that show next…
i agree. i’ve only been watching it sporadically and greys is getting harder and harder to watch

I do NOT like Sam and Addison. It’s a strange pairing…first Addison w/Derek, then w/McSteamy, now w/Sam? I don’t even sense chemistry there….

seriously? that’s it, i hate shonda rhimes. she did to Dell what she did to George! made him basically invisible for the season then killed him. why kill him?!!! he got into med school, perfect out. there are other ways Dell could have gone out with a bang. Why leave Betsy an orphan?! She is a “horrible, horrible person.” This makes me not want to watch private practice or greys anymore. who is she killing on greys next week??

This is ADDIDON’S show, created for her. Without her, no show. Get used to it. She’s the only interesting character on it.
