Will miss the original but LOLA sounds like a good replacement. Love SVU and think Sharon Stone has been a great addition. And of course, Criminal Intent has been terrific this season too.

I really think they should have canceled L&O:SVU. As much as I love SVU (it’s the one I primarily watch) this season has been awful. It’ll be interesting to see if the LA version is any good. I wish though they would broadcast the new British version because I really enjoy watching that one.

I like L&O and loved Criminal Intent (w/ Goren & Eames), but could never get into SVU – it always seems to center on some horrible abuse of children and I just cannot watch it.

I agree, gimme L&O:UK. (Great to see how Brit legal system works)
Or do a L&O:Toronto (Canadian legal system) or Chicago (great town that could also become a character in the back ground). Something…ANYTHING…but Los Angeles. (SOOOO boring) :-(

  • Yeah, it’s wrong

    They’re still making millions

What the hell am I going to do without Jack McCoy in my life??!!!

    • Shana

always the voice of reason, I’ll miss him

    • Tim

Well maybe Jack will make more regular appearances in SVU (much like Fred Thompson did when he was DA). Heck, maybe we’ll be lucky and Cutter or Rubirosa will be moved over to SVU so we can have a permnanet ADA as opposed to “random ADA of the week” or “Special guest star whose sole purpose is to amp up the drama or bring in ratings as ADA”

    • JB

I know. I always said as long as Jack was still there I’d still watch. I do miss some of the earlier characters though.

Screw NBC. They are huge idiots. Go ahead. Give us some more that hard hitting programming like The Apprentice, In Gayle We Trust, Biggest Loser, My Own Worst Enemy, The Marriage Ref, Who Do You Think You Are…. Dumbasses.

    • April

      In Gayle We Trust?

    • Henri

And don’t forget the instant classic “Minute to Win It”. Oy please someone stop the madness.

      • Jill

Hey, we had the same thought at the same time!

    • Jill

Don’t forget “Minute to Win It”. A pure gem it is…..

    • John

I’m usually pretty knowledgable about reality shows…what was “In Gayle We Trust?”

    • kyle

you call The Apprentice, In Gayle We Trust, Biggest Loser, My Own Worst Enemy, The Marriage Ref, & Who Do You Think You Are “hard hitting”…those are all reality shows…not even related to shows like Law & Order…you’re retarded

      • Barbara

Oh Kyle, look up the definition of sarcasm. And then work out which of you is retarded.

      • Flyer

And you, Kyle, are apparently incapable of recognizing sarcasm. Maybe you should actually read posts before you go around hurling insults that just make yourself look bad.

We were just saying how amazing it was that after 20 years Law and Order was still turning out great episodes. I am SO disappointed with this news – the cast is terrific and the stories really are too. We have recently stopped watching SVU because it has been universally bad this year – ridiculous stories and really, really bad acting. We hate the focus on the personal demons of the characters. We’ll check out LOLA, but nothing could drag us back to SVU…

    • Patsy

Amen to everything Lisa said. SVU is pure overacted drivel. I used to LOVE love love Olivia and Elliot and the actors who play them, but the stories have become exploitations of real-life sex crimes all in the name of entertainment. I can’t watch these two fine actors anymore without excessive rolling of the eyeballs at the things they are paid to say.

    • drcampbell

Couldn’t agree more. But LOLA? Will this be an organic/sunny/pretty version of the real thing?

Too bad L & O was cancelled. The latest incarnation with the additions of Anthony Anderson, Linos Roache and Jeremy Sisto and moving Waterston to D.A. and getting rid of boring Fred Thompson, gave the show a huge boost. I prefer it to SVU which has gotten stale and sometimes ridiculous.
Seriously do we need another version of Law and Order and in L.A. of all places?

    • drcampbell

I will definitely the latest developments between Mike Cutter and Connie Rovirosa!

    • G.R.

I was REALLY getting into this show in its last few seasons, in large part because of Lupo, Bernard and Cutter. I will most certainly miss them. :(

    • kellybelly

Hey, as I’m the only LA native here on these boards it seems, I will say that we have just as much grit and crime as NYC. (Yea I’m proud. LOL. And for your entertainment – check out the movies: Training Day (with Denzel Washington) and Colors (with Sean Penn). That’ll show you the grit of the city.
But it will have a different look – yes, just because the weather’s different here, etc. I hope that they keep it the same and NOT try to “pretty” it up.

    • Brett

Even though L&O has suffered from the zombie-like performances of Sisto and Anderson for a couple of years now, at least Linus Roche and Sam Waterston have been interesting. And Fred Dalton Thompson was the best top DA since Steven Hill.

      • Lennep

Steven Hill could out act Thompson and Wiest without opening his mouth. His facial expressions and hand gestures spoke volumes. Watch an old ep sometime and focus on Hill. I’ve come to like Sisto and Anderson but have to agree that Briscoe and Green were the best partners.

  • Ruby

Thank you! It won’t break the record! I didn’t want DW to get that satisfaction after the way he treated CI.
