I loved this series and I am really disappointed. When I think of the other series on TV..Law and Order seems to me not a show to be cancelled. NBC is clearly run by a bunch of idiots.
20 years? That is a pretty good run. NBC hasn’t made the best show choices the last few years, but they are trying to do some new things and who know, maybe McCoy and others will pop up in the new LOLA.
NBC certainly hasn’t been making the best show choices for a while. After the whole “Leno Show fails and leads to Jay ousting Conan” debacle, you’d think NBC would try to avoid doing things like pi$$ing off L&O’s significant fan base by denying the show a record 21st season AND trying to replace it with a “new and improved” LA version.
The whole Jay/Conan debacle started when they decided to move Jay to 10PM, five nights a week, a mistake if there ever was one. Now, getting rid of L&O one season shy of it’s record-setting 21st season is silly. They want to focus on their pilots and a new L&O instead of going with a proven commodity.
NBC should piss off.
C’mon NBC-really?
It won’t even get a proper finale.
SAY IT ISN’T SO………. AND YES THEY DESERVE A “LAST SEASON.”
Why do we need ANOTHER L&O? There are already too many of these type shows on tv as it is. Does anyone remember Trial by Jury? It lasted all of what, six episodes? I’m glad this one is gone, and SVU needs to go with it.
We need MORE L&O’s! So many American cities have not yet been represented by either an L&O, CSI, or NCIS series. It’s shameful. I hope we get L&O:Denver, CSI:Albuquerque and NCIS:Minneapolis.

That is just sad.
That is just sad.
I too am so disappointed. Since the show is based on actual stories, they were never going to run out of story lines. It has been 20 years of great writing, wonderful characters and marvelous acting. The show will be sorely missed.

Oh thank god L.A. is getting another TV show. All the actors and technicians and directors were really hurting for work out there, we should just keep shutting down NYC shows.
Excellent point.

That’s a crappy send off. They should have announced it as the last season, and given them a chance to wrap up some loose ends.
Badly done, NBC.
