      Well said, liddad.

Mercy ended on a cliffhanger. Not cool.

      • JBD

I know! Mercy was so good! I think it was really underrated. The scripts were great and the acting fantastic. Ugh, and I was looking forward to seeing Chloe become a doctor!

It was the show I couldn’t believe I kept watching, and couldn’t believe even more that it was actually getting better and better. They actually paid REAL attention to the characters development and to continuity of the stories, and the acting was really very very good throughout. It’s sad a show like Hawthorne that’s a very poor relation, has been renewed by TNT already, or maybe they’d have saved this NBC mistake like they did Southland. Still I can’t grumble too much, NBC are bringing Chuck back, so hats off to them for that. Really sad about Mercy though, it was definitely my great “not finally at all – guilty pleasure”.

i’ve learned to let it go that networks will screw up and cancel my shows. BUT I LOVED MERCY!!

how sad to cancel mercy what a good show and to end it on a cliff hanger double shot.

  • wen

Mercy wasn’t given a chance. I loved the finale. Was looking forward to the next season especially since James Van Der Beek joined.

    • DW

It was given a full season. How much more of a chance does it need?

      • Yeah, it’s wrong

No it wasn’t. It was pre-empted by the Olympics and moved around. a LOT.

    • Cash

Mank nailed it. This piece of garbage was given a better chance then it deserved. I wish they’d given Trauma as much of a chance, but that show was much more expensive to produce, and Nancy was just all over the place in the back half anyway. I think the only way to save that show would have been to kill her off violently, and replace her with a paramedic that actually wants to be where they are, instead of using it as an excuse to hide behind their daddy issues.

      • Holly

Seriously? Trauma was an alright show, but it was crap. If you know a medic or married to one they spend the entire show saying “we don’t do that” or “wtf are they doing” He never did that with Mercy. I guess I won’t be watching shows on NBC any more.

    • lisa kennedy

I’m really upset to.You have a really good show so much better than those reality shows then you go and cancel.I think it is a huge misstake.I think you need to give the veiwers a chance.NBC is making yet another mistake.Like when you moved Jay Lenos show around you like to have cost him his good reputation.Shame on you.

Noooooooo!!!! Mercy was so good. Now we’ll never know what happened to Dr. Sands or Veronica’s ex. Why did they do this????

    • viggles

Agreed. I was looking forward to Dawson joining the cast!

That’s fine, though, because NBC still has great dramas on its schedule like Law & Order. Oh wait….

    • Jack

Law and Order got axed. NBC is replacing it with a Law and Order: Los Angeles.

      • SueN

I’ll miss the original L&O. What a joke to replace it with a newer version. It’s in LA so I guess everybody will be younger, cooler, blah, blah, blah. Can’t wait. At least it’s not a reality show.

      • GGG

Is that a joke? L&O in Los Angeles??????

      • serena

PFFFT law and order LA it will be dubbed LOLA im already laughing cant possibly take this one serioously bring back mercy!!!!!

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with NBC. Unless they introduce more shows next year, they’ll only have a handful of hourlong dramas left. And I’m finally getting into Friday Nights Lights and that’s being canceled after next season. Which means, outside of Thursday, most of the programming will be reality based.

  • J

How either show made it on the schedule to begin with is a mystery.

    • ps in seattle

Personally I think it’s very difficult for any new medical show to measure up to the awesomeness and excellence that was ER. That show was simply outstanding.

Nooo. I think I’m the only person that loves loves loves mercy!!!!!

    • Jackie

You are not alone! I’m so bummed about this, especially after that cliffhanger season finale :( I will just have to picture in my head that Chris makes it safe and sound to his relief hospital and that Mike is only injured but has Veronica to help him recuperate.

    • JBD

I watched a lot of Mercy on Hulu and right after I watched the finale, I was swooning about how good of a show it was and that it was one of the better and more creative medical shows out there. And. Then. I. Read. THIS! I am so upset and angry and a million other different synonyms to express my anguish. Mercy’s cancellation was ridiculous. It’s like shooting a hummingbird or something.

    • Liz

You are not alone. I loved Mercy and was sad to see it go. I guess I have to make up my own ending.

    • TheatreGeek

ARGH! WTH is up at NBC? First the L&O fiasco (cancelling the original and starting one in freaking LA??????), now canceling Mercy. Officially ticked off!

When NBC gets a good show and people love it, they cancel it. I also loved it. NBC did the same for my favorite Third Watch. They moved it to different days, then cancelled it. Get Mercy back.

  • court

boo i liked Mercy a lot.

  • lily

that sucks! Mercy was actually getting really good!

  • mae

I am really bummed, Mercy was a great show – equal parts drama and comedy. Oh well, I should be used to disappointment by now!

    • Amanda

It seems that NBC has decided to continue in it’s ultimate self destruction….. if it survives beyond this next season I will be absolutely shocked! Between the Jay/Conan fiasco and the cancellation of Law and Order, and now this…. it’s sad to see a whole network so hell bent on self destruction! The only thing this station now has is L&O SVU, Chuck, and Biggest Looser…. without these 3 I doubt anyone would even bother with NBC anymore!

      • LAJackie

Yeah, I only watch Chuck, L&O and L&O:SVU on NBC. At least Chuck got picked up – that’s a relief.

      • Katie

How is NBC destroying itself by getting rid of Mercy and Law & Order? Their demo ratings were horrifically bad so they weren’t going to attract much advertising revenue. It’s just basic common sense to cancel them and not keep throwing money into a black hole.

      • lisa kennedy

        I totally agree.

I agree with Mae. Mercy was actually a great show. If Sex and the City (without the glitz) and Grey’s Anatomy had a baby in the awesome/trashy state of New Jersey, Mercy would be it. Or close to it. And Taylor Schilling is the best thing on TV.
