Leave it to NBC to put a show on the air about jobs being outsourced. It’s so insensitive. How many people have been “outsourced” when their jobs were sent to people making barely livable wages in a 3rd world country! Whomever thought this up should be tarred & feathered! Saw the clip. Not remotely funny. If it gets past a few episodes…

  • Damion

Am I the only person who thinks Celebrity Apprentice should go back to being a simple ONE hour weekly series…this season has been torture to watch…I mean, I thought they’d knock it down to an hour after a few episodes…but no…

…yet I am still watching, albeit in fast-forward…especially now that Cyndi is gone.

  • anna

I can’t beleive they canceled cold case and the regular law and order and now have an LA one..the original was so good! but my favorites were criminal intent and svu..at least svu still stands! they should bring lily rush back! COLD CASE CAN’T BE CANCELED!

  • Joyce Mann

I can’t believe one of the best shows of the season, Mercy, is being canceled while Parenthood, Biggest Loser & Minute to Win it remain on the air. WHY?

  • Kai

    Wow.
    Heroes gone.
    Trauma gone.
SVU moved to a horrible time, AGAIN! SVU belongs at 10. Not 9. You would think NBC learned that this year when they did horrible at 9 but better when they moved them back to 10.
I’m starting to think NBC has nothing left.

  • Jason

Does anyone even watch this horrific network? All of their shows are ridiculous EXCEPT for “The Office”. NBC needs to sign off for good and take it all with them.

  • SUZIE

NOT ONE SHOW OF INTEREST guess I won’t be watching NBC at all this year

  • FLASHFORWARD

    HEROES

  • Susan

CHUCK’S on the schedule. Great news.

    Having trouble breathing till now
Trailer looks great for this Monday’s 2 hour special. Thanks
Michael A for your support and updates…and thanks for the trailer..

  • Ken

Just checked out the new season
CHUCK is on – the show’s terrific.
Monday nights are not boring, as long as CHUCK and Sarah and the gang are there.
The new David Kelly show is the most promising. Does anyone remember his last little show,
BOSTON LEGAL. A great tv show.

  • Lisianne

    Chuck! *.* Perfect!!

  • Lisianne

    Chuck! *.* Perfect!!

  • janet wein

    Is Mercy gone for good?

  • AuntieMM

Agree with your sarcasm. Go Chuck!!!!!! I’m not happy with it’s time slot but it continues to grow an audience.

  • Alia

    Bazinga. But “ferverous”?

  • Liz

I’m pretty sad that P&R is going to be a mid season show this year!!! I love it. P&R and Community are the best of Thursday’s on NBC.

  • Mac

I agree with you, Liz. The two best comedies on TV (30 Rock and The Office are getting tired).

  • Bobby

Other than Chuck, this looks like a bunch of crap.

  • For real

Really NBC, I don’t know why I should tune in. Nothing on your schedule interests me at all.

  • Mac

I don’t think that bodes well for Parks, being relegated to the second part of the season. Too bad, looks like the begining of th end of a great show.

  • Liana

No kidding. I thought they’d be trying to amp it up as the next ‘Heroes’.

  • Rob J. (ShutUpRob)

And when they say that Parks & Recreation will be back by “mid-season,” what they really mean, whether they know it or not, is “three weeks after the season begins.” When Outsourced is cancelled due to NBC being too oblivious to the fact that the show has already been pre-cancelled by the audience that doesn’t want to be reminded where the jobs they don’t have anymore are going to.
    .
I mean, come on. Even as rocky as Heroes has been since season 1, the show shouldn’t have been cancelled for such a clear misstep. And that’s even before we get to “The Event,” which, because of the curse of its title, won’t be.
    .
    – Rob

  • MsSuniDaze

Nothing like waiting 8 months for a show to come back on.

  • Kvivik

Yeah…whats with biggest loser being 2 hours??? Who watches the whole show?

  • Kate

Agree – Parenthood is not a 10 pm show. I also am hooked on The Good Wife and have been watching the Parenthood reruns on Saturday night – it’s a good show, but as usual NBC screwed up the timeslot placement. Has anyone over there been (deservedly) fired lately?

  • @Kvivik

I stopped watching Biggest Loser live because it’s unbearable for two hours. I watch it later in the week. No commercials, no boring stuff.

  • bsr

Hopefully, Parks has been moved to mid-season due to Amy Poehler’s pregnancy… It’s a GREAT SHOW, so I’ hoping that’s the reason anyway…

  • julie

Since Amy is due either late August or September (and already looked pleasantly pregnant last week on SNL) I would think that’s why Parks is mid-season

  • amber

you’re probably right. its up against the mentalist and private practice with a horrible lead in. such a shame considering becki newton is one of the greats

  • susan

Nbc just cancel SVU it will loss aganist Criminal Minds every time

  • sweet666

I am sure they put the strongest law and order before the new law and order to try and get people to continue watching after SVU ends.

  • Bob

Midsseason just like the article says

  • E.

No, that’s not how it works. Parks & Rec was renewed for the full 22 episodes as far I recall; it will just start airing later in the season.

That said, I love the show and wish it were premiering in the fall!

  • Michaela

You’re a moron. That’s not why at all.

  • kimtravels

I actually love Big Bang Theory. Two and Half Men though, I don’t really get.

  • bklynny

I can’t stand Grey’s. They’re more about sleeping around than they are about the medical aspect.

NBC primetime is beginning to look better again.

  • angie

maybe they’re holding ‘parks and rec’ until midseason because amy pohler is having a baby ??

  • Hiro Kitty

NBC has their heads up their asses. Parks is brilliant, and this Outsourced sounds supremely stupid.

  • Spence

Hey Hiro – why don’t you tell us a show you like so we can crap all over it.

  • LisaP

amen hiro kitty. i hate nbc. p&r is their best show on thurs. but no, dummies at nbc, keep milking the office.

  • Shawn

I don’t know about the series, but check out Outsourced the movie. It’s smart and funny and full of jabs about soulless corporate jerks and the decisions they make. “Mr Toad” is totally changed by his experience.

  • D

So true! Remember NBC in its late 80s, early 90s heyday? It was indeed MUST-SEE TV! Going back even a bit further to Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, L.A. Law, ER. West Wing, L&O…Man! And the comedies: Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers, Frasier, Mad About You, Seinfeld… What the hell happened???

  • Brian

Chuck and The Office for me, but yeah…there’s a lot of uninteresting stuff on here.

  • Hiro Kitty

    Except that Chuck is crap.

  • Brian

Chuck and The Office for me, but yeah…there’s a lot of uninteresting stuff on here.

  • Rich

And by “kicking butt,” we mean “getting lower ratings than Conan did this far into his hosting tenure.”

With any luck, they cancelled L&O so Sam Waterson can replace Leno in 6 months.

  • Billiam

Does your definition of “kicking butt” have to be only one or the other? There are a lot of idiot masses out there (and apparently these are the people that Nielsen surveys the most).

  • Carrie

Yup- I DVR Parenthood to watch on Wednesday and watch “The Good Wife” in real time. Both shows are awesome- NBC should pimp Parenthood harder, it’s good…second favorite new drama (hell, drama period) after “The Good Wife”.

  • James

I’m with you, I just don’t get why Parenthood is on at 10pm. I would think Parenthood is a good family show that deserves an 8pm time slot.
How is a show about family on at 10pm while SVU is about terrible crimes being commited on at 9? I love SVU but its a 10pm show.

  • Shawn

There’s really no need to have a stockpile of good shows competing with each other. Yes, you can Hulu Parenthood or the Good Wife, but how do you get the all important Nielson ratings for the Hulued show?

  • :P

this is a bad, i mean a BAD! schedule… why is Community leading thursday????why is chuck on Monday?? I love chuck, but i think it would probly have a better chance on Friday than monday!! And why did they order like 5 Comedy’s if they wernt gna open up another comedy night???? what a waste…..

  • MsSuniDaze

@ :P – Community leads Thursday already so that’s actually a good spot. Chuck is also on Monday now. I think Chuck should go on another night, but am worried of NBC putting it on Friday. Can be death to a show, not as bad as Saturday but still a lot of people go out.

  • Sophie Ann

Really…..I’m still shaking my head at the cancellation of one of THE most watched TV shows. Being on the air for almost 20 years AND still have an audience to me sounds pretty damn successful. Why cancel a sure thing?

    What are they thinking????

  • Sophie Ann

    It’s on CBS

  • T.

Criminal Minds with kill SVU again in the Fall. :) NBC must want a reason not to give another pay raise to Chris and Mariska.

  • Iggy

I agree. The Good Wife and Parenthood are not only the best “new” dramas this season but two of the best overall.

  • tvcon

@JSR apparently you have a learning disability. amy poehler is having a baby and that’s why their holding it until midseason.

  • Dave

tvcon, I don’t think it’s because of Amy’s pregnancy. Parks and Rec began production on season 3 almost immediately after production on season 2 wrapped specifically so that they could have some episodes in the bank to air in the fall (seeing as how they are not writing her pregnancy into the show, they needed to film some episodes before she started showing; that way, they can take a hiatus when she does start showing, but they will still have a batch of episodes ready this fall). This is the reason why Parks and Rec was given such an early renewal back in January. So it really makes no sense for NBC to hold the show until midseason.

  • JSR

‘Especially with two new characters, it’ll be hard to convince the public that the producers and writers couldn’t come up with something to accommodate Amy Poehler.’

TV con, what exactly did you think I meant when I said ‘accomodate’? I was referring to her pregnancy. Enjoy your scholarship program.

  • erin

    seriously??

  • PixxieTrixxie

I have really come to love Parks and Rec. – the characters have developed so nicely and the actors are playing them so wonderfully.

Glad that someone mentioned Amy Poehler’s pregnancy although I believe that I read they were shooting extra shows at the end of this season to start off next year due to Amy’s pregnancy.

  • anna nymous

Good plug, Katarzyna! Seriously, is it Monday already? ;)

Back on topic, when is NBC going to learn that the subject matter of Law & Order: SVU is NOT for the 9 pm time slot?! The very nature of the show deals with heinous sexually motivated crimes. Do they not watch their own program? Just when the show is finally gaining its footing again after being moved to accommodate Leno, now they’re being moved again to accommodate a new show? Just because it’s a Law & Order, it doesn’t mean it’s going to click. “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” anyone?

  • Bridget

Totally agree Kate … I am still holding out hope

  • Elizabeth

Parks move to mid-season… might have something to do with Amy Poehler’s pregnancy….

  • bklynny

I know. It’s ridiculous to wait for The Cape next season. They should have showed that instead of those lame looking sitcoms.
    Outsourced and Love Botes. Please.

  • Laurie

I agree Elizabeth. It was the first thing I thought – cause she is the star and should be due end of summer/ early fall.

  • Sarah

agree, they should flip-flop Parenthood and SVU.

  • DivaSoulSista

And by the looks of this schedule, they could have kept L&O for at least one more season. I don’t see any of these new shows that I would consider watching. I’m even on the fence about LOLA

  • DivaSoulSista

They aren’t thinking. They need to get rid of Zucker and to a shake-up of all of the programming execs. It’s sad when there are better ideas regarding programming and scheduling in the EW comments than they have coming out of NBC.

  • mary ellen

Afraid this is true – exceopt, of course, for Days of Our Lives during the day. No Heroes, No Trauma, no Mercy – and, of course, no Medium, since they screwed that one up last year. Perhaps Chuck should try another (preferably cable) network – USA would be a good fit

  • Kasia

I don’t understand why everyone is worried about Chuck staying at 8 pm on Mondays. It has been there for years and it’s still kicking. Just keep watching it.

  • Kasia

Agreed. Not to mention the fact that people don’t try reading the whole article anyway.
