Scoop: Will 'Heroes' movie take flight?

heroesImage Credit: NBCNBC wants to do a two-hour Heroes wrap-up movie. Series creator Tim Kring wants to do a two-hour Heroes wrap-up movie. The majority of the show’s cast wants to do a two-hour Heroes wrap-up movie. So what’s standing between the project and an official green light? The answer (via my buddy — and newly-christened Love Bites series regular — Greg Grunberg) can be found in the embedded video player below.

    Video is unavailable… gonna wait a minute…

    Interesting.

  • Matt

Although I normally thing wrap-up films are fun, “Heroes” is not going to have anything else to say, because it hasn’t had anything to say for seasons now.

    • thin

Matt wins because he speaks the truth.

    • J

      Exactly.

    • Natalie

      Love.

    • MattyB

      Yep. This!

    • Matt1

Your wrong Matt Heroes has the capabilities to be the best show in america, and the world none the less, just needs new creativity I know the ratings would pick up it just has to add the drama back to it as it had in season 1. Thats not a hard thing to do if your a good writer, not hard at all. I could make it the best so I know they’re writers can.

  • Milton

Why do people insist on not letting things die?

    *cough*Jericho*cough*

    • Ryan

Yeah, but Jericho was a consistantly good show over it’s two seasons. Heroes starting going downhill begining in season 2….lol

    • deana

Plus, Jericho was originally canceled on a brutal cliffhanger. It made sense to give the show a little more time to resolve that. And, as Ryan says, Jericho was very strong creatively.

    • jesse

abc ruins everything good in this world…

  • Melissa

Dude, is it me or are you bored listening to Greg?

    • J

      It’s not just you.

    • DW

Who wouldn’t be bored when forced to hear Greg Grunberg yap about Heroes?

      • Chaz Winterbottom

        Who wouldn’t? Greg Grunberg.

  • AJ

Can’t see video, but if I had to take a guess: the long-time fans?

Seriously, the last episode works fine as an ending. Just let it freaking rest.

  • Jamaaliver

It’s so hard to get behind these hour-long, serialized dramas when you have no guarantee the networks will allow the stories to end in a natural, satisfying way.

I gave up on Heroes years ago. But I hope this happens. Sucks to put in years as a fan without some sort of finality or payoff.

    • Brian

But if you take that attitude and don’t watch, they won’t make serialized dramas anymore, and that would be very bad.

      • Ben

I agree with both. Thank god for Lost! But given Lost’s success, why did ABC bail on FF after only one season? So frustrating!! I wish Heroes had been given a 13-episode run with the commandment to wrap it up.

      • dank

Totally agree on FF…AARRRGGGHHH!!! It really make me not want to watch anymore because what’s the point in getting invested when there is no guarantee the show will survive, no matter how creative and well written/acted it is.

      • Brian

They need to find a better way to measure ratings than the Neilson system, and they need to do it quickly. Alternatively, they need to get Neilson boxes to EVERYONE for free-install them in TVs or something.
Otherwise, this system makes no sense.

    • Polly

I loved heroes and miss it terribly. I wish it would come back on, if even on HBO. I know it got slow a bit but the writers always left u hangin and I loved that

  • sam

    ugh. Let it go already.

  • Mike

Wrap what up? The heroes airlines have been a mess since the third season

This is bullcrap! Heroes will probably get its proper send-off but Las Vegas won’t? I understand the show was CXLed two years ago but if NBC is going to do this for Heroes fans, why not do the same for Las vegas fans and offer the show a series finale as well, the way GST intended for it to be? I think that’s only fair to do.

    • 95% of people have forgotten the show. Get over it.

95% of people had forgotten the show while it was still on the air

I’d like to know what he says! But, I’m guessing its a matter of getting everyone together at the same time.

I hope they do it though. And I hope it has a Sylar/Peter final showdown. AND explains why the world won’t stay saved, which to me has been the real lacking point so far.

    • Brian

I agree about the world saving–possibly the most interesting concept Heroes had going was that they can’t save the world, only delay the inevitable. I’d have liked to see them actually pull the trigger on an apocalypse, and go about saving the world by surviving, not stalling, the apocalypse.
But no-they wanted to repeat plots over and over again instead of taking chances.

  • Bike Seat

    Hey, Greg, sit on me.

    • WTF?

      I don’t get it.

      • bill hater

it’s an overweight joke. his name is bike seat and sitting on him would mean going for a bike ride/exercise. at least i think… the joke’s so bad i wouldn’t be surprised if it was a legitimate request. i’d be creeped out… but not surprised.
