There’s no word on the exact episode orders, but I’m hearing both will return for at least 12 eps apiece.
The net also picked up the Tom Welling-produced cheerleading drama Hellcats and the Maggie Q-fronted action-drama Nikita.
Oh, and Melrose Place? It’s officially dead.

HELLCATS is a coming-of-age drama about a pre-law student (Aly Michalka, Bandslam) whose world is turned upside down when she loses her scholarship and has to join the college’s competitive cheerleading squad. This fun, energetic series is a behind-the-scenes look at the drama, politics, and pressure surrounding the high school football program at a Southern university.
The CW formally announces its fall schedule on Thursday.

I’m so upset! Not that they got renewed but that Hellcats is one of the new shows. What about Nomads? What about the show written by the Gilmore Girl exec? Instead, CW, you pick an Ashley Tisdale show? UGHHH!!!!!
The new show by the Gilmore Girls’ exec tested horribly. It was complete crap. One of the worst pilots they had ever seen. Nomads is an expensive show. The CW is already slashing the budgets of the shows they already have.

So agreed. My TV broke in January and I failed to even care that I was missing this show. It really should’ve ended with the season 6 finale. Not usually a fan of things being wrapped up in pretty bows, but with all the things they’ve put these characters through in all these seasons, it was heartwarming, and it felt right.
I didn’t dislike the new characters. I actually found them pretty endearing and they were growing on me. My problem is in how quickly they were shoved into starring roles. Believe me, I am definitely *not* one of those Lucas/Peyton people who thinks this show is nothing without them. But something about it no longer being about kids who had grown up together made it lose something, to me.
i must be completely out of sync because i was really not into how boring lucas/peyton became and found that AS MUCH AS LUCAS WAS ONE OF MY FAVES this season was really refreshing to have cut that storyline and taken a new turn — i really think oth went uphill and i was completely into it. THAT’S NOT TO SAY if luke and pey were still around it couldn’t have been great, it definitely could’ve, just not if it continued in the same boring blah way that it was at the end of 6th. unfortunately quinn and clay seem to have taken to that direction a bit too — good thing theyve got the shooting to spice things up

I know right? I love OTH, and obviously a lot of other people do. I mean, they’re going to be on thier 8th season. That’s amazing. And, thank god they’re not ending the show this season after that finale!!!! We have to see what happens next!

CW could have renewed Melrose Place. It was fantastic! I loved it. But, if CBS cancelled GW, I would expect the cancellation of Melrose Place by the CW. (sigh)

It had a bumpy start but throughout the season became every bit the guilty pleasure the original was and earned at least another season.
Amen to that! Privileged was such a wonderful show. Waiting for word on a dvd release. Also agree that Melrose Place got pretty good towards the end.

lol the CW wasnt around at the time of Roswell. it was first the WB then it got picked up by UPN (both of which ended up merging to become the CW lol)
When the Melrose Pepper turns red, my Dad strings them, puts a brown paper bag over them and hangs them to dry. Once dry, he pops off the end and fries them on a very low heat in Olive Oil. When done and cool, sirlnkpe a little bit of salt on them and bite into them hearing a big crunch! Just thinking about them puts smile on my face. My Dad is Italian and this is his all time favorite pepper and ours too. During the summer when they are green, fried peppers on a piece of good Italian Bread and some pepperoni! My kids love to go to my parent’s house on a weekend for lunch time with Grandpa!

My husband grew up on fried green rsomlee pepper sandwiches. They couldn’t be simpler. Cut the stem end from the peppers, leave the seeds in. Fry in lots of olive oil. Salt to taste. Assemble sandwich : cut french bread lengthwise, cover with lots of peppers, top with thich slices of ripe tomato. Enjoy! Now thats the taste of summer.
