This finale is the worst soap opera ever! Huddy killed the show, look at the ratings “No reason” with 25MLN of viewer and “Help me” with only 10MLN. This is the sad reality. And what they are going to do? Keep this huddy cr@p up…exploring this “wonderful” realtionship! yeah! Wanna bet that there will not be any season 8 for House?
I’m wondering why a no huddy fan should tune in next season and watch again this pathetic show. They should change the name…from House M.D. to Huddy M.D…as I said, pathetic
Then don’t tune in try Bones,Dancing With The Stars,or any other show that catches your interest. Love House, and Huddy
the final gives more intrigue for the show, I’d like to watch the House md season 8 with House and Cuddy together, for the writesr it will be very difficult but very interesting the same time…:)
The bitterness of those who want to see House with Cameron/Wilson/someone else never fails to amuse me.
What I respect about the producers is that they choose to follow their own vision and convictions, instead of catering to an audience – regardless of what those so called fans will tell you. The Huddy fans got lucky that, ultimately, they choose to go in that direction.
I personally like House better when he’s feeling lonely and miserable, it makes for a better show, however, I want to see him in a relationship. We’ve only seen glimpses of what he had with Stacy, so it’s certainly going to be interesting experiecing the whole thing now, imo, whether it’s with Cuddy, Wilson, Cameron or Taub, I don’t care, I just want to see it.
HUDDY FTW!!!
People all seem to think that everyone ships. Most people I know are not for any particular couple. They are only for and about House, and the way they ended the finale sucked. If they had done it well a lot of people would have been fine with it.
Hm…it would be very interesting if they started a relationship and they brought back Lydia! muahahaha
omg, i TOTALLY agree with all of you!! (except for those few spoilsports lol.) I mean, when the season finale was on, the ENTIRE time i was completely spazzing out, like, “okay is it gonna be now? now?? NOW???” and then that chick died, and i freaking bawled, and then he went to his apartment and pulled the mirror off the wall, and i cried even HARDER(this episode REALLY played with my emotions, ohmahgahhh), thinking he was going to relapse, and i was like, “he is NOT going to go back on that hard work to stay clean!” and then when he actually popped it open, my father(in the other room) yelled at me to shut up
THENNN, when she went into the bathroom with him, i was about to start screaming, and when they KISSED…i made this weird, high-pitched scream/squeal thing(because i didnt want my dad to get mad), and jumped up off my couch and started jumping up and down clapping my hands, and laughing, while crying the whole time, but this time from happiness! AND THEN, when he was like “how do i know this isnt a dream?” i sat down REALLY fast and trained my eyes on that freaking screen, and she said, “did you take the pills?” and he looked down, and smiled, before dropping them into the floor, i totally spazzed, like, 3 times what i had been doing before xD and my dad opened the door and was about to yell, but when he saw what was on the screen, he just shook his head and left, because he knew that id been waiting for this FOREVER!
And then, when the door opened, i was like “stop him stop him stop him!!” and then it was cuddy, and i think i died for a moment
…but yeah. that was my 100% true Huddy reaction.
oh, and i think that i should mention, that in the beginning, when she tells house that lucus proposed to her, i cried, which is exactly what i KNOW house was doing inside.
and i NEVER CRY.
…yet i was totally bawling through this entire thing! …i love you writers, and producers, and actors, and the crew guys; i dont think the crew people get enough credit, because i mean, the camera guys are the people who get the BEST angles, the lighting people have to decide how to set the mood, the make-up people have to get the actors looking even awesomerrr, and things like that
))
so, amazing episode. amazing show. dont listen to those haters out there who say that this is becoming a soap opera, because this is NOTHING like a soap

The more I hear the less I like Huddy. Go back to House the show and House the character.
Also annoying
This Barnett woman is so annoying. She goes on and on about her book in the fandom as though she is the only person who ever wrote a book and so many of us are sick of hearing about it. Not one person but her is pushing it and she is throwing herself a party to kick off the book. She pre-sold copies on Amazon sure because part of the House fandom will buy anything House but that doesn’t mean it is a good book or that it would sell to a general audience. I am not panning the book as some people may like it. I don’t like her House writing on the blog and am not planning to buy the book so will never find out. I have no problem with the book but resent that twitter is nothing but that from her tweet after tweet when I don’t even follow her and her friends just keep retweeting. Friends will write reviews for her fannys will buy the book and she will have an even more inflated ego. She was enough of a pain pushing her blog before but this is over the top. I just hope that once the book is out and her friends buy it and fawn all over her like she wants, she will shut up about it and let people get back to their real lives. If being humble is an attractive characteristic, I hate to think what this makes her.

Pretty much. But hey, no relationship on the show lasts or is happy. I’ll just sit back until they both end up miserable and apart.
Poor Lucas. I liked him.
i don’t expect the relationship to last. house being a father to rachel? yeah, right.
You obviously never saw the season finale of The Sopranos
Agreed 100%.
your retarded, and all of you “agree”-ers are also retarded.
I agree that it was the worst season finale, and add in the worst season, of “House”. But last week’s self-indulgent snooze-fest was the worst “House” episode ever.
I agree with Monica.
Well…every party needs a pooper!
I liked most of it until that last scene. House and Cuddy haven’t had any chemistry in a couple of seasons now, yet she decides in the space of a couple of hours to break her engagement for him?? And force poor Rachel to put up with him as a stepdad?? Sorry, but Huddy was over the second Cuddy got a baby. I don’t care how much House has grown since the hospital, he’s not ready for that and won’t be for a very long time. It’s irresponsible of her to think otherwise.
Hey, Mike, there’s a huge difference between a season finale and a series finale.
So true, Bob. Also, for the record, the SERIES finale of The Sopranos was brilliant.
The Sopranos ended with a wimper. They couldn’t figure out a real ending, so they just cut to black. I loved the Sopranos, but HATED the ending.
nevermind, that was from gossip girl.
Yes, because mean-spiritred people who stomp on other people’s good times living lives to emulate…
It’s not all House fans. Just the coked-out ones that can’t get laid irl apparently.
Vanessa
Lighten up!! Get that stick out of your butt and laugh a little and enjoy the little things in life even if it is a TV show.
I read this as “need to get hobbits.”
I’d argue that people who troll fan sites, urging others to “get hobbies”, need to get ones of their own.
Tara
Welcome to our House Freak ZONE
why are you here ?? trying to stir up trouble is school out for summmer ?
Tara, the fact that you’re HERE saying that says a lot about you! LMAO!!
I love you House and Cuddy!
Tara’s hobby is trolling.
Don’t feed the troll.
…Bye bye now. (as I laugh and wave good bye)
wow, melodramatic much? it’s just a tv show. you didn’t need to write a dissertation on why you won’t watch anymore. jeez.
Agree
AGREE. The writers have thrown any realism out the window in favour of writing a Huddy fanfic. I hate to say it, but I’m turning to Grey’s now.
Who knows how long it was between the site and her showing up to House’s place? I think people are so worried about the fact that they put House and Cuddy together you’re picking at every detail. I’m sure they didn’t intend for us to get the idea that Cuddy just called Lucas up and said “hey, umm gonna try to work things out with House so it’s over, thanks for everything”. And why are we questioning how she got in to his apartment, she obviously just walked in the door…I can see some people being unhappy about them taking that step with House, putting him with Cuddy, but to say that little details like how she got in ruined the episode is ridiculous. And if they had House overdose one more time or slip back into that same old routine it would be awful. Who honestly wants to see him just constantly overdose and be on drugs. He’s moved on and is growing and changing people, you should too!
For me it is. Well half-dead. I might try to see if it can be revived.
What’s great about the show is the medicine AND the personal life stories. Just medicine can be boring, and pretty much every show involves personal stories about it’s characters. ER was on for what, 15 years??? because of the personal involvements of the different characters throughout the years. You may not be a huddy freak, but trust me, the show would not be as successful as it is without the love stories. Why do you think so many viewers waited so long for Huddy to happen. They’re all pretty happy too. GO HUDDY!!!, AND PLEASE CONTINUE INTO SEASON 7.
OMG…ur still here? (shocked, while I laugh *again* at the rant)
stop stalking her
you are aware not everyone worships huddy, right? everyone’s entitled to an opinion.
I’m more disturbed by your seriously disrespectful reaction to her honest post.
Why are you demeaning people with whom you disagree? To judgmentally gloat and look like a stalker? Are all “Huddy” fan’s like you? If so….no wonder ratings have gone down consistently every year since Season 4.
Disrespectful? Ok, fine…probably was. However, I didn’t ‘disagree’ with her at all. Her outrageously long diatribe, which I’m sure she thought was intelligently and eloquently put, about this TV SHOW was highly FUNNY! She sure was very passionate about a show she no longer intends to watch. THEN, she followed it up with another long post stating the SAME THING over again. Sorry, …she took time to mock certain fans, only fair that she get it back. Orginally, though, I just thought the long post was funny. Toodles all!
But he wasn’t perfectly happy, he wasn’t happy at all. I think that’s been clear since the beginning of the series. All along Wilson has said that House had gotten more miserable with each passing day and was making the lives of those around him more miserable as well. House is still a long way from happy and healthy, but I think that since he was released from Mayfield he’s slowly been trying to make his life better– I don’t think they’re saying you need romance to be happy, I think they’re trying to say that you need to work on the relationships with the people in your life, platonic or romantic, to begin to be happy– no one is happy alone and House has been alone for a long time.
13 will never leave the show. We’re going to be haunted by her for all eternity.
Well said laylagalise.
agreed!
Well said laylagalise.
Thirteen’s story didn’t give you much to talk about. She’s asking for time off. Whenever Taub asked her about it she smiled at him. At the end she said she isn’t OK. That’s it. She was being mysterious about it. We’ll find out next season. I doubt they will just let it drop. When Kal Penn left, it affected the story line after he left, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Thirteen.
Actually, they are plenty of people who say/think “I love you, but I wish I didn’t”. We don’t always fall for the easiest person to love.
Exactly how I feel Petal. Ruined the whole eppy for me which was so good until that last scene. Cop out. Cuddy just ended her relationship with Lucas with no fallout, they’ll drop that next season. Her daughter must of been attached to Lucas, wether fans liked him or not.
Well said, Petal. Well said.
The thing about TV is that it doesn’t always have to be realistic.
The thing is that was totally realistic and totally something Cuddy would say. She doesn’t want to love House, she wants to love a guy like Lucas who can be normal and have this happily ever after life with, but she doesn’t really want it. Loving House is insane and it will never turn out to be this easy going, smooth sailing relationship. Same goes for House, he fought his feelings for Cuddy strongly for 2 seasons, a relationship with her with never be normal either for many reasons, but he loves her. Not everyone falls in love with who they think they should. I think it was a great way to push them together finally, I was dreading that over done scene where she makes it up to the wedding day and then decides it’s House as she turns into a runaway bride.
The ending was okay, but I like the formulaic-ness of House – yes the show is about him, but I also like seeing the team and we barely got to see them this week OR last week
I AGREE. Over the many seasons, I have fallen in love with House myself, he is such a misunderstood person. Wilson and Cuddy understand him the best, and Cuddy is a great match. She is sexy, strong, smart, and can go toe to toe with him. When House described himself as “broken” in that final scene, tears welled in my eyes. When they kissed, it was great, and then when the camera panned in on their clasped hands, it symbolized so much. It wasn’t about sex/lust at that moment, it is a new direction for them. I went to bed dreaming about that episode! So good. And I agree with the comments, this can’t be a perfect relationship, but it can be a perfect House relationship. House needs and deserves this. This relationship really can last…it will be fun to see Huddy spar as lovers. Seriously will be funny. I love this show so much!!
AGREE AGREE AGREE THIS SHOW IS SO AWESOME. I KNOW ITS ONLY MAY BUT SOME REASON THIS FALL DOES NOT SEEM A LONG WAY TO GO. SO HAPPY!!!
Guess I’m in the minority here, but the ending to last night’s show felt so contrived, it almost had a ‘Dave and Maddie before they jumped into bed together’ vibe to it.
She spends the whole hour talking about moving on and rips House a new one, which is actually deserved as it seems like he’s taken his annoying acidic behavior over the line to a totally unlikeable level this season.
In fact, there is no way “Huddy” will ever work, yet there is probably also no way they can go back to the way it was either.
Let’s face it, this show is on its final legs…let next season be its last and maybe they can give it some decent closure.
WONDERFUL !!!!! BEST SHOW AND CAST ON TV RIGHT NOW !!!!
Like you and a million others, I
was thrilled yet uncertain if this was real. Now I am looking forward to next season.
Made your life? I’m sorry, but that’s just sad.
Ah, “your retarded”, the mating call of the unintentionally ironic…
I think Retarded was signing his note:)
your,
Retarded
Or else he’s an ignorant person that’s also a hypocrite.
Nice try, adamfan, but go back and read the interview. Everything we saw in that final scene happened. No hallucinations this time.
well clearly we did not see the same show.
Uh, I don’t think so adamfan. I did think at the beginning that maybe something horrible would happen, like Cuddy dying, because of contract disputes or something. But it is pretty obvious from the interview that no one died and there isn’t going to be some hallucination. Sheeesh.
You missed a great season finale.. dont know why some people keep watching since all they think was House with Wilson or with Cameron…
@adamfan, I think you may be the one who is hallucinating.
ok, so the show is just lame. If we are to believe that in the short time that House was at the hospital, Cuddy left the accident site (there were not other people there to care for?), showered but remained in the scrubs that she wore and oh yes, broke up with a guy who just a day before proposed to her and after breaking up with him there was no discussion it all happened very fast. There has to be a reason for the shot that they showed of his cane left at the accident site. And do you all think that the show executive is really going to give it all to us? This show has never been predictable with this type of stuff. We were told a month or so ago that a major character is leaving the show, we know that it is not 13 (temporary). Don’t agree with me now, but I have a feeling it will not be a cute love story of House and Cuddy come next September.
The reason he left the cane at the accident site was because he felt good about what he did and he wasn’t feeling any pain.
Disagree. This season was a fresh change of pace for me.
People, get a grip. Posters tend to use hyperbole when talking about an especially satisfying episode. Don’t take it so freakin’ literally.
Do you know what´s even more sad?You insulting another person you don´t now nothing about and just because she has emotions ………..you pathetic
It might be the perfect House relationship, but is it going to be good for Cuddy? Ultimately it may be her undoing. We see House trying to go back to his old ways and (due to Mr. Laurie’s acting skills) realizing, with just a looke in his eyes, that it can’t be that way anymore. That he may not ever be the doctor he once was. But, right now, in this moment, he is willing to let that happen for a try at happiness.
I think it can be good for both parties. House has been in Cuddy’s life for a long time (back in med school!), and Cuddy is a very strong woman, and she doesn’t need a Yes-man (sorry Lucas). House is a complex character. We haven’t seen him in a serious, committed relationship. There is a reason for this. He knows that he is the guy with all the answers, whether it be medical diagnostics, or analyzing patients and/or his colleagues. He likes to have the upper hand so he doesn’t get hurt. But this is NEW to House b/c he never thought it could ever be. I think this relationship can make House a better doctor. Of course, I still want him to be an abrupt, matter-of-fact jerk, this is part of his charm, but I think this relationship can enhance him as a character, and Cuddy too. I anticipate their problems, but really hope the writers don’t make House do something unforgivable to Cuddy.
Cue the shark, motorcycle and driver!
He’s a misunderstood person? I realize from the comments that most of you are teenagers who still live at home or in a dorm, but in the REAL world many people exist who are as narcissitic at House. Ask anyone who has to work with thoracic or neurosurgeons…or most of us ER docs.
There will be no fairy tale ending but it will be interesting if they can actually act as adults in a relationship. But since both characters are completly and probably terminally flawed, it won’t be smooth sailing. I think she is even more bizarre than House. NO professional woman wears the tight skirts and blouses that reveal bras AND breasts in the real world of medicine. Geesh! Put a lab coat on!
JenR – I totally agree with you! You could see it in Cuddy’s eyes that she is seeing him as the man she fell for years ago. I was hoping against hope that by the end of the episode, something, ANYTHING, would happen to make House feel better and not give up. It went far beyond my expectations and I am ecstatic!!
100 years isn’t so bad. We’ve been waiting 200 years for Booth and Brennan to get together!!
Glad to read that I’m not the only one who felt this way. I didn’t even factor in the baby, but that’s yet another reason it’ll never work.
House is unhappy to the bone, no one that miserable can possibly bring anything positive to a relationship. He thrives on making people unhappy.
Glad to read that I’m not the only one who felt this way. I didn’t even factor in the baby, but that’s yet another reason it’ll never work.
That’s all part of the working on the relationship. House grew way up this season, not sure he’s ready to be a dad yet, but umm no one jumps into a relationship and becomes an instant parent to the other’s child(ren). I do’nt think he ever disliked the idea of parenthood, he’s just scared to death of it because of his own dads. more therapy please!
House is unhappy to the bone, no one that miserable can possibly bring anything positive to a relationship. He thrives on making people unhappy.
TOTALLY AGREE.
i dont think there was enough HUDDY scenes to build up to this happily ever “HUDDY”. it seemed contrived and rushed.
Dont get me wrong, i loved the acting in this final episode, BUT it just seemed like the rushed the ending…Cuddy just broke up an engagement, a house-mate, the acting father to her daughter…and all of a sudden they make us believe that she comes running into House’s arms and that she’s always been in love w/ him after hurting him all season by being w/ lucas?
In reality, yes, but this is dramatic television. Did you really expect them to have it?
This is why this show was never meant to go as long as it has. The problem is that there’s a fine line when you create an unlikeable character to give enough tiny glimpses of goodness to keep him unlikeable. I know that doesn’t sound coherent but hopefully someone knows what I mean by that.
“House” and “happy” don’t belong in the same sentence. The only possible outcome is for Cuddy to become UNhappy.
This is great! I literally LedOL at this comment! I feel you!
That was the best line of the whole episode. I felt that line down in my soul. …. and the line that preceded it.
again: Cuddy spent all season trying not to love House and move on, after his speech she realized what she was giving up, i.e. the love of her life, and that she was just settling for Lucas because he was what she was “supposed” to want.
People always feel like something’s being “shoved down their throats” if they simply don’t like what’s happening. Frankly, I don’t get it either. They’ve not only hinted at it for six years, they’ve come right out and said it, repeatedly, both on the show and in real life.
umm that was last season’s hallucination pic
Only disappointment was I thought he should have said “I Love You” back. Would have been a BIG step for House.
I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO APPLAUDED MY TV AND CRIED !!!! LOL
Agree. Don’t know why people who hate the show bother to read the recap AND the comments AND even post their own ! Wow, you guys really need to get a job or something.
House gave her a shot that was supposed to help with the pain. I’ll have to go back & watch but while he was doing that he made a remark, something about how they couldn’t give her anything stronger for some medical reason.
they did give her pain meds, and not just anyone would go under that building, hello unstable. and house is a surgeon, he knows more about the human body then any dr they could have found, he was her best bet. and it wasn’t his fault she died either.
The fact that she was even conscious afterward bothered me.
“If she were to come in and stop him from taking the pills by saying something like “I saw a whole new side of you that has made me think” and then the Huddy developed over the next season, then I’d feel better about it.”
I think that’s pretty much what happened. She didn’t put in so many words, but when they were in that hole and he made that speech to the patient, it was written all over her face.
I’m sorry, but this was more like “mid-life crisis Cuddy” to me, so that’s why I’m hesitant about all of this. I don’t know how much I believe of her “I love you” bit. Yeah, she definitely cares for him more than as a friend, but “I don’t want to” is not the relationship someone who has lots of self-esteem issues already should want. It’s like saying, “Gee, House, I find you extremely sexy and smart, but you’re also kind of a bad boy, and I shouldn’t want to sex you up, but I do.” Yes, I know that happens in real life, but then again, those kinds of people aren’t really mentally stable.
It’s OK if you liked the ending, but I just can’t help feeling how I feel.
Cuddy spent all season trying not to love House and move on, after his speech she realized what she was giving up, i.e. the love of her life, and that she was just settling for Lucas because he was what she was “supposed” to want.
Zaphod – this absolutely should not be a fairy tale romance, and seriously, have more faith in the writers that they wouldn’t do that. Look at what it took to even get House and Cuddy to this point. Their relationship should be more of the same, a struggle and a battle, but one they willingly do because they love each other. Love isn’t something you fall into; true love is wanting to stay with someone no matter what crap you have to deal with to do it.
omg give it up with the freaking moonlighting references, tv shows centered on a workplace will always have to rely on sexual tension among the characters and will always put them together, sometimes after a good build up and other times not until it’s too late and nobody gives a crap
i think house is probably doing it just before it’s too late, cuddy’s been clearly in love with him for at least the last three seasons but only held back because he’s such a mess, now she’s gonna give in, give it a try – sounds real enough for tv to me
The Moonlighting references are almost as tired as the “jump the shark” references. Apparently the Moonlighting writers did not know what to do with that relationship, but the House writers may actually have some good ideas on how to play out Huddy relationship. We’ll have to wait and see next season.
TMB I agree with you completely. I’m just hoping that there was something more going on in this episode than “Huddy” that will unfold next season. As for those that don’t like the references to Moonlighting and jumping the shark, that sounds like denial to me.
Maggie and mikos, the only problem with your arguments are, the show is already doing badly in the ratings because people are sick of this Huddy-Luddy drama, and really don’t want to see more of it next season, despite what the writers think. House has been doing terribly recently, and while “Huddy” may please certain fans, many more were disappointed that essentially that entire episode was all about them. I’ve always loved House because up until this season, it was about a whole range of things and didn’t just cater to one couple. Now i’m not so sure.
No, not denial. I’m tired of the Moonlighting references when ANY show has a “will they or won’t they” couple. And I’m tired of people saying “jump the shark” when ANY show does something they don’t like.
Well, they did have to re-inflate her lung so that may have something to do with it.
repeated from my earlier comment:Cuddy spent all season trying not to love House and move on, after his speech she realized what she was giving up, i.e. the love of her life, and that she was just settling for Lucas because he was what she was “supposed” to want.
Agreed. WOW! This fails so epically that it boggles the mind?!
A smart, intelligent show as no other in TV was reduced to .. I have no words.
What happened? I’m still reeling since the whole survivor arc. Seriously writers, WTF?
What about this season opener, Broken? Hugh Laurie gave us quite a performance!
Is this for real? Those poor kids.
Yep. I would’ve preferred a drug-induced coma over that ending. I guess brain damage fits into both equations, though.
Clearly they had a better premonition than the rest of us.
They were factoring in international fans with that 20 million number. House has never recieved 20 million viewers for an episode in the US.
Let’s rephrase that: House has grown a little. As for “not watching the same show as the rest of us,” he’s supportive of Wilson’s relationship with Sam?? Yes, he’s being polite because that’s his BFF, but seriously, let’s not call it “supportive” because it isn’t completely. Also, signing the book over to Cuddy was a sneaky way of trying to find out how things were between Cuddy and Lucas, not a some random act of kindness. I’m guessing he had that book for a long time to use it as a tool to get into her pants or whatever have you. As for being a patient advocate, I think that was half understanding (because he pretty much lost use of his leg) and half fear (because of that same “he almost lost his leg” reason; I think he was kind of flashing back in his mind to how he felt). Yes, House has done some changing this year, but he hasn’t done enough growing to sustain a healthy relationship, sorry.
i agree with you. and also with zaphrod… i think exactly the fact that he hasn’t “magically” grown will be interesting to watch him struggle with a relationship, and see how far he can still grow

Ross and Rachel of “Friends” first got together during season 2. The show lasted 10 seasons.
Yes, and some people have long been tired of the Huddy OMGITNEEDSTOHAPPEN BAAAWWWing. God knows the hate would be tenfold had that been Wilson instead of Cuddy.
For Pete’s sake, it’s not all “Huddy hate”. Some of it is people who truly do not think the man is ready for a serious relationship yet — especially when he realized that therapy isn’t helping him. Throwing himself at this Cuddy infatuation (obsession…whatever you want to call it) is not the cure-all and key to happiness. The people here who keep saying LOVE = HAPPINESS are as delusional as House and Cuddy at the moment. I’m sorry if that sounds terrible, but seriously, guys. Seriously.
lol I have been waiting an age for Brennan and Booth too!! Well one of my favourite shows are giving it a go yay for Huddy!!!Bones has certainly given us a lot to think about and hope their finale goes the same way although I think they will keep us waiting longer!

it’s the season finale.. if a formula show can’t even deviate then, then you know the show has completely stagnated
I get it, the over the top screaming can be annoying.
But I am sick of people criticising the whole show just because they dont like Huddy. If Hilson were to happen yes, I wouldnt be happy, but I wouldnt go as far as to give up on the show completely and never intend to watch it again, as I would be interested in the characters.
Gabi, you took the words right out of my mouth!!
I really had doubts about watching the season finale. I really thought I couldn’t do it based on the horribly fanficy BUT because of my love of HL I gave it a try. Man, I totally regret that I did! That was fanfic at its unimaginative worst! Truly a case of wonderful actors and completely dreadful writing. They should all be strapped to their chairs and be forced to watch S1 and S2 as penance…before they dare write one word for next season!!

I never said it was a cure-all, just that he deserves some happiness, and an exploration of his relationship with Cuddy is something I believe will help House and allow him to possibly get some happiness.
This has made my year! A friend asked me, now that the season is over what will I obsess about over the summer. lol
My mom HATES HOUSE and i’m completely obsessed with it so I know the feeling; All summer it’s re-runs for me
Right, ok. Nearly eleven million people watching the show.
I get that this isnt as many as it has been in the past, but still, you are going to use the fact eleven million people watched the finale as evidence Huddy is universally unpopular? Its not like this episode plummeted from the one before it, in fact it was higher. And the ratings have been slowly falling all season, big whoop.
I think they’re pointing out the fact that over 20 million tuned in for last season’s finale, but this one was only a little over 10 million. That’s somewhat hard to ignore. Who knows why they lost those viewers, but they did lose viewers.
Blah, ignore me. I’m getting a little too sleepy to think coherent thoughts. In any case, yeah, they’ve been losing viewers — shows do that, especially when they’ve been going on and on forever — but there is something that for whatever reason viewers just don’t like, and if they even care about getting them back, they need to figure out what’s driving them away.
I have faith in the writers of the show, and the great actors..who could have imagined they were going to give us such a great finale..keep the faith!
And I think many people could look beyond their dislike of Huddy if it hadn’t essentially been the focus of this entire episode.
no they are going to save that for a chuck bass type of moment to keep the love alive…. but dont worry he will say it
and he pretty much has implied it the whole season so….
i cried, paraded, clapped, laughed and then watched the end over and over BEST TV SHOW EVER!!!! YAY HUDDY!!! FINALY!!!
Ok, they deleted my link. But it’s also an Ausiello story.
International fans don’t matter, sponsors are only interested in people who watch the show live in the usa. The days of House are few but I don’t care, I’m done with it.
A lot of episodes from S2, S3 and some from S4 had 20+ mln viewers.
Well, let me tell you why: It was as though all the usual House writers went into a lunch break, and this 13 year old girl came into their room, and put a picture of House and Cuddy kissing on the desk. Then the director came, and thought that picture was the script.
All the men realized it, but all the women – who have not grown up since they were 13 – were ecstatic.
Maybe she has read too much fan fictions
Perhaps because after the dance TPTB concentrated solely on Hilson. Maybe viewers were not impressed by the sitcom tone of “The Down Low” or maybe they were turned off by the ides of Wilson being in a porn or maybe the idea of Wilson being unable to buy furniture shows just pathetic the character is
Well, well knew this was coming. We get some great Huddy and Huddy news and the other ships gotta come and rain on our parades-except it doesn’t really matter. I like that you’re trying to reason with some of them, Cat. But these people don’t care about that, they just want to vent. And they are making up scenarios with bits of truth and making them into caricatures of what really happened so they can mock it. I’d like to take some of it seriously, but I can’t knowing all of that. It’s Huddies turn. Hilsons had their turn during a lot of this season. I don’t know why we all can’t get along and just enjoy both of our ships. They’re both the most popular ones on the show. House CAN love more than one person. In fact, he does. He loves both Cuddy and Wilson. And as I love the Trinity, or OT3, or Hudson, whatever you want to call it, along with a ton of us out there, I am happy as long as I have all three of them enteracting and entertaining me. Love this show.
I’m sorry, but with all due respect, I think this is such a BS argument. I stopped watching this show last season because of “Huddy” – it felt contrived, and I hated that they sacrificed everything I liked about Cuddy to make this happen. I thought the dynamic between House and Cuddy was fantastic in the early seasons. I saw a House who said the most outrageous and inappropriate things imaginable in order to push Cuddy’s buttons; I saw a Cuddy who would just roll her eyes, and then proceed to verbally rap House’s knuckles with a ruler and get him to do what she needed him to do. What I did not see were two people who secretly yearned for each other. Then Shore decided he needed to pander to a segment of the internet fandom, so he completely changed that dynamic, and suddenly there was House and Cuddy, OMG, so in love and angsting all over the place about it, and…just blech. As a long-time fan, I was offended.
TL;DR – Yeah, you can be a fan of “House”, and still be pissed off enough about Huddy and all the damage it did to the characters to stop watching.
Since when was House the love of Cuddy’s life – and vice versa? Certainly not in the first 3-4 seasons of the show. I know Shore and Jacobs would like us to believe that these feelings of “true love” have always been there, but that is simply not the case. They can retcon all they like, but that doesn’t make it so.

It is SO.Friggin.Rare. that a tv show can the lion’s share of its viewers to be simultaneously shocked, thrilled and amazed. House’s S.6 finale’s final scene did it like no other show has ever done. Still reeling from the fact TPTB actually went “there.” More than anything it was done in such a tender, complex and adult way that anything otherwise would seem terribly wrong. I hope S.7 will explore the relationship throughout the season as it is wonderfully complex, convoluted and layered while the risks are everywhere. Will House and Cuddy have to keep their relationship secret? Certainly given the reporting relationship issues in the workplace. Can.Not.Wait.for.S.7!
Ummmm…NCIS, the number one scripted show, has been on as long, if not longer than House & Cuddy MD, formerly known as House MD. How do you explain why they manage to pull in almost 15 million people for each new episode, if as you say old shows lose viewers?
ummmm tht is still a lot of viewers…..like life unexpected has like .3 mill per episode and it is still going we have some time YAY! I love house so much!! yay huddy
I am in total agreement.
Very well said Caroline. I have often wondered how it came to be that while he was bending over backwards to try and win Stacy back he was supposedly pining over Cuddy? I hate it that they rewrote House’s history with Cuddy to suit the current storyline.
I disagree. I think House and Cuddy have always had their underlying affection for each other even from season 1. She went to bat for him a million times and House would stick up and defend her in his own Houseian way. The whole thing with Stacy was a game for him, he was a jilted ex and she came back with her new husband, he got her to cheat on him and was satisfied. Even when Stacy was on the show there were a bunch of times when “what’s going on with House and Cuddy” came up. Even she asked Wilson about his interest in Cuddy. It took a turn to the front when she stayed with House in the hospital in the S4 finale. Then their feelings started coming out, the kiss in S5 now they’ve made a move maybe they don’t have to fight the feelings, but House was still so bad then. I think everyone’s complaing that this all came out of left field and it didn’t. It progressed as things happened. Sometimes it takes a big event to make your feelings come out, like him being in a coma after the e-shock therapy. House and Cuddy’s history has always been what it is, more and more has come out over the seasons- season 1 Vogler, Wilson, his team all brought up their past, and it’s been brought up in every other season as well.
Reading comprehension is a very useful skill in life. You should work on that.
first of all, I’m pretty sure I can comment on any damned thing I like, even an episode of a TV show I didn’t watch. However, that’s not what I was commenting on. I was voicing my dissatisfaction with the direction this show has taken in general.
Second, I do not expect, nor did I say anywhere in my previous comment, that “House” should be a carbon copy of Sherlock Holmes. I am well aware that it is loosely based on those stories – at least it used to be. That is the crux of my issues with the show now.
Finally, “losely” is not a real word. I believe the word you need there is “loosely.”
Big problem instead, because we stopped watch the show in millions, let’s if you’ll say no problem when the show will be axed, lol
TMB, I totally understand what you mean. This show definitely has gone on too long, because now the character of House and all his principles – the principles the show rested on – have totally disappeared. And all that’s going to happen is this relationship is going to fail miserably, the show will end, and it will be a really sad way for something that was once so good to end so disappointingly.
They’d have to go to Isengard.
You are so right!
House is not a top-ten show anymore, uh not even in the top twenty, so let’s it sink.
It amuses me that if some people don’t like a storyline it’s the reason the WHOLE show is slipping in the ratings. House is the most watched television show in the WORLD, the whole entire world, not just the USA. It’s going on it’s 7th year, I don’t think the writers or cast expected it to be #1 forever, or #1 at all. It’s still a great show, season 1 introduced the platform of the show and the cast, you can’t expect the show to keep on going like season 1. We’ve learned more about each character, gotten into their personal lives and some fans have formed attachments to the characters and I’m not just saying House and Cuddy, there are still Cameron/House fans out there, Cameron/Chase, House/Wilson, Thirteen… The show creates a lot of commotion and gets people to get online and comment on anything and everything they read. They’re doing something right. I don’t care for or watch for any pairing, but if House is going to be with anyone on this show I’d say Cuddy’s the best bet. They work really well off of each other, actors & characters, they’re fun to watch and it’s safe to say they’ve been in love with each other since the show started it’s going to be good for House to have someone. I think the idea that because House is in a relationship will change his character is completely false. He is who he is and that’s not going to change, the best part of him being with Cuddy is she knows that already. And Cuddy is far from perfect which House already knows as well. Looking forward to season 7, great job to the cast, crew, writers and especially Laurie and Edelstein that last scene was dripping with raw emotion and for a guy to be glued to the screen says a lot.
So Kim, do you want Ziva and DiNozzo to hook up?
As much as I love Huddy , in my opinion , I would give this relationship at least two seasons , tops . If House goes for another season or more after season eight , I would like to see House and Cuddy remain friends in some way .
I don’t know if saying this relationship is going to end so quickly is accurate. I think the reason they waited so long was because once these two make a commitment it’s going to be for a long haul. House and Cuddy know each other like an old married couple. It’s not like she’s just starting to date him and is going to find out all of these new things about him and vice-versa. I think she’s semi prepared to deal with everything he is. I think if they did put them together say in season 4 or season 5 they wouldn’t know what to do because then they would definitely have to break them up and where do they go from there? Not saying it’s going to be an easy relationship for them, but who wants to see that anyway.
Same here , they probably would have been too tired to have sex after dealing with the tragedy in Trenton , just decide to cuddle and sleep .
I agree, it’s fine for people to be critical and opinionated on the show negatively or postively, but the whole thing with House and Cuddy not being believeable just blows my mind. They have been flirting and the sexual innuendos have been flying since season 1. Since literally the first episode ever shown. I think the writers did nothing for their pairing by stretching it out so long and this season definitely just pushed it with Lucas. Honestly, I think Cuddy and Lucas were far more unbelievable. It was uncomfortable and awkward from the first time he appeared. I don’t think they’re trying to make us think that Cuddy has been the source of his misery since the beginning, there were a lot of other things going on, but I think season 5&6 she was the reason for sure.
@ Suzanne: Critical? How about cynical. You’re basing your critique on your heart, not your mind. But to each his own. Glad you watched the finale though. It was amazing. Hope you will stick around for next season so we can keep the show on a consistent day and time slot
djesus, don’t worry people who are sooo negative about the season finale just hate House and Cuddy being together. There are millions of people all over the world that watch the show, love the show and will continue watching that don’t come online and comment on articles saying they’ll never watch the show again. People who watch and hate it generate just as much publicity and fanaticism as fans who watch and love it! Season 7 will be great!
The only ratings that matter are the ones in the usa because, it’s all about money. So if ratings are low in the usa a show is going to be cancelled. House has already lost a lot of money from its sponsor along with millions of viewers. This show won’t survieve this huddy mess.
Because Dexter is not House, simply. House and Stacy were good, House and Cuddy is just a cheap soap. Also Dexter is still Dexter, now House is just the Huddy show. You’ll see, season 7 is going to be a big fail
How was came about?
No, he didn’t believe it, even in the beginning of the finale when he was bringing her the book he asked her if there was trouble in paradise and then was on the phone with Wilson telling him to try to get some info from his ex-wife about her buying the new house. I’m more of a Cuddy fan than a House and Cuddy fan and although I’m absolutely elated that they finally are putting them together it’s more because it’s so obvious that Cuddy has always loved him and her scenes with Lucas were AWFUL. The actors had no chemistry and from the beginning every convo they had revolved around House. I love watching Lisa Edelstein and have loved her even more since she started her role as Cuddy and her interactions with House have always made for great tv. I’m excited to hopefully get to see more of her next season!!
Ok, I wanna play: just few episodes and we’ll hear about a soon-to-be-cancelled House
Lol, the premiere will be a disaster, for me less than 10 millions
i know, i accept that entirely. but that line is still…how can you like that? I mean, she DOESN’T WANT to be in love with him. she thinks its a bad idea. how is that a good premise for a relationship? she knows he’s bad for her, remember her conversation with Wilson in ‘the itch’, when she talked about how it’d all go to hell after a few months, or when she explained she’s a mother now, and needs someone dependable?
i mean, when stacy came back, the whole idea was that house loved her and was pining for her so much but he couldn’t change for her, so he had to let her go. ‘people don’t change’has been a huge theme of the entire show, even now after giving up vicodin, when wilson started dating sam and insisted that she’d changed, house refused to accept it, and them breaking up AGAIN kinda proved that. they had the same fight they were meant to have ten years ago.
in short, i really appreciate huddy. i ship hilson, but i’m not delusional, and i totally understand that he’s in love with her and her him, vice versa, that she spent s6 being in denial about it and trying to move on but she couldn’t. fine. i just don’t think they’re capable of dealing with Rachel, and the fact that she’s his employer. i don’t think house, or anyone, is capable of change. and i used to be a big huddy shipper, so i smiled at the finale eventually, but i can still see what bad writing it was. and that it’ll be a trainwreck.

House is no Remington Steele. It’s impossible to compare the two shows.
You “so called “haters”" still come on to Ausiello’s site and I’m sure any other site where there’s House news and bitch and moan and complain about a show that you supposedly hate. Everyone can complain about how bad the show’s gotten or throw out facts and figures about how many viewers the show’s lost because of the storylines yet you’re all still here commenting on websites about the show. The show’s ratings plummeted this season because of this stupid Lucas storyline and the fact that the new episodes were spread out in such a weird way. One week new episode then we’d be waiting like three or four weeks for the next. I’m not sure where the strong hate for House/Cuddy or Cuddy or Lisa Edelstein comes from, but to say that she or they are not a popular part of the show is just false.
I honestly don’t think we needed any build up in that episode. I think the build up for Cuddy leaving Lucas started when House found out about Lucas. She had doubts since then and she was just plowing through to try to make that relationship work. The only thing Lucas did for her was make her feel like she was in a normal relationship. Cuddy is far from normal. The second he told Hannah she had to lose the leg Cuddy made her choice.
There was nothing sexual about this episode at all. That end scene was far from sexual and far from two horny adults making moves. As a guy I can honestly say that end scene was astounding. The two of them just have that something and even if they’re not talking the way they look at each other says it all. I think some of you confuse fans of House and Cuddy as teenage nymphos. I’ve always liked House’s character and Laurie is pretty bad ass. He and Cuddy are good together on screen. That’s it. I think that was the most realistic way to get them together. Get them both to their breaking points and have them finally just break down and the their feelings come out.
That she is she saved him life in “Three Stories” and in “Houses Head” and saved this job in “Babies and Bathwater” and saved him from jail in “Words and Deeds”
Thanks Erin, you’re the proof that huddies are all idiots, lol
