I think Mack has added a lot to the series but I do remember the guys in the future not having any record of her. She has been a fabulous actor in this series and really deserves credit for this. Jealousy brings out so many negative comments that are truly unwarranted.
I love Allion MAck and the fact that shes coming back for at least three more episodes is making me very happy, but im really upset and sad that she is gone. I hated it when Lana left, but when Allison took over after she left, i became very happy, but to know that shes only in three more episodes, its hard to deal with, but i have no say so in the matter. But i do hope she’ll be in the Series Finale along with Lex and Lana. That’d be pretty sweet
I love Allison Mack very much but to know that shes coming back on Smallville the 28th of this month, im very excited, but to know she only has three epiosdes left it makes me feel sad and upset, but i have no say so in the matter and ill have to deal just like with everyone else. I hope she will be back for the series finale though along with Lex and Lana, that’d be pretty sweet

I am disappointed in you guys. Its just series for yall to enjoy. Who cares if you “hate” Chloe or Lana or Erica, and or Tess. Come off your high horse and just sit back and enjoy SMALLVILLE. You know what most of you sound like to me? Some of you wish YOU were one of the character and so YOU, hate them. They all, males and females are good actors/actress period. Chole is the one who held them all together, Can you imagine a world without Chole? All will fall to chaos and probably will end the Season 3 so soon, Just be glad, all thanks to Chole Smallville made it to their 10th Finale Seasons. If your mad or upset that Chole Sullvian left the show and so you degraded her because she been on the show for so long and in the end shes not in it much. She has a life of her own. Smallville is not a reality. So she has a right to move on, Granted I know its the final season and that she should hold on and wait out til it ends. I guess everything happend for a reason. I love the character of chloe, she started off being a pain in the ass but progressed to greatness once the whole I love Clark was out the way. Fact is though she isn’t in the comic and not part of the Superman mythos and thats where the producers have stated they are taking the show towards Superman. I have to laugh when I see people annoyed that Lana has gone…hello people she was always just a girl from school and stuck around longer than she should off which held back the show from progressing the last 3 seasons have been amazing but then I’m a superman comic fan and it seems we are the ones that like the later seasons and the teeny boppers who love a bit of 90210 are the ones who love the first few seasons, each there own but he is Superman after all and has a path to follow so bye Chloe you were good but not in the Superman mythos

If the writers want Smallville to end legendary, then we will see a Clark Kent who finally starts doing things on his own. The Superman we all have been waiting for, for a long time.
CHLOE IS the main reason for Clark’s lowered intelligence which I excused because of it. The fact that in season 9 shows that he is capable of doing things on his own, means next season he will fully be doing things on his own.
No more Chloe makes a lot of viewers super happy.
Maybe she’ll get a sendoff as epic as Lana’s. These showrunners designed that sendoff too right?
And by “end-point for her” I meant “Chloe”.

What about Clark? He lasted the whole show. Chloe’s longevity is a milestone, of course, but she’s not the only one.
And btw, there were 8 characters in the beginning, not 5.
A couple things- Tom is contracted thru S10 which is why he’s still here. His contract would be up after next year and no doubt too much to renegotiate. Lois, and the other supporters were also already contracted thru next year- Allison as a regular supporter since the first year had her contract up earlier.
Also- what do you mean no loyalty to the characters? She was asked back and declined? It’s her loyalty in question really but she says out of loyalty she will do a couple eps so that’s good enough for me.
The show is Clark’s life and the people in it, not of them specifically. In the comics pretty much everyone of his Smallville life except for Ma is gone from his life by the time he becomes Superman.

Wen, if what made the show good for Amber is now going to be gone,that doesn’t make Amber a bad fan, rather a great fan of Chloe/AM. As for giving TW credit for sticking around…The CW did pick up his show Hellcats for next season. I give him props for at leasting getting something out of crap he’ll forever be tangled up with.

What makes this show “Smallville” is that it’s the story of Clark becoming Superman, told with a modern and realistic style. It wasn’t a story told anywhere else outside the comics (“Superboy” was basically Superman, but younger). THAT is what makes “Smallville,” not Chloe or any of the other characters, really, even Clark.
However, Clark is certainly the heart and driving force of this show.
Have you considered that she was the last thing tying it to the show it was, and that’s why the leaving?
After all, some people tuned in for Smallville the story before the story – not the Lois and Clark years we grew up with in the 90′s.
But why would she come back for the whole season, honestly? What’s in it for her? So she gets lousy material to work with and 3 minutes of screen time again?
I’m sad I won’t be seeing Chloe regularly every week, but I’m happy for Allison and that she’s moving on.
Allison worked on SV for 9 years and gave a great performance no matter tha lousy material she was given sometimes. She got really little material in S9 and I do not blame her for wanting to move on to more challenging projects just as Kristin Kreuk & Michael Rosenbaum did.
I think its actually really good to just have her come back for a few episodes to finish out Chloe’s story. I wish she could be on the whole season because I love Allison but the fact is at the end of the day its a show about Superman and Chloe Sullivan isn’t a comic book character. Since its official that this is the final season, I think it makes sense to close out Chloe’s story so that the true focus of the final season can be on taking Clark/Blur to Clark/Superman. Allison is one of the few actors to step out of the tv show that made them famous with the right mindset. Still, I don’t know how much I’ll watch once she’s gone. I guess at least I’ll still have Justin Hartley.

I hope it’s true that her role is not minimal. Smallville has been dying out because they have caved in to a couple of anti-Chloe comics fanatics near the end of season 8/beginning of 9. AM/Chloe made Smallville great and if the Smallville producers want a good last season they need to treat the Chloe character right.

They will have to make up for the big loss… I hope they find someone Clark can lean on like Chloe in the show…. But even though she wont be there I will still watch, Im curious to see how they take the last episode of season 9 on. Sad to hear its the last season

Damn, shut up, man. Rosembaum and Kreuk made good out SV. Krinstin made a movie (ok, Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li sucked, but Eurotrip was cool), and Rosenbaum is making an new series (and made about 2 or 3 movies in between SV, Cursed and another about snooker). Our good-girl AM have a LOT of talent, she can make succes with relative easy, could be in another series or making movies. If she became too grounded in the series, she will be cursed by the old “one character actor curse”, like Dean Cain (always the excelent Clark Kent), or Luke Skywalker, and the like.
Yeah, without AM, SV will loose the grace. I love her.
Yeah, Allison Mack was consistently the brightest spark of talent of the show, including the “Kents”, although “Martha” brought a surprising warmth to the show. I, too, thought the Zod storyline was painful and over-done. At least in “Lois & Clark”, it was Clark who didn’t have a clue and Lois who had it all figured out that Clark was Superman, but she just bided her time her him to tell her, a much more classy approach than Smallville Clark’s constant lies. Also, seeing Lois as stupid is unsettling, since in the original comic books Lois is nobody’s fool, taking down crime lords and crooked business men almost single handedly. It always seemed like Allison Mack was the only one worthy of Superman, especially her capacity to not need him, and still be competent. Also, they’re always portraying Cloe as being undatable, when in my experience, the smart pretty girls are in the highest demand. The world has too many dumb girls who attempt to get by on their looks. I agree that the writing will have to get much better to make up for the talent of Allison Mack.

Chloe hasn’t reached out either. And she’s the one who constantly went behind his back “to protect him,” while Clark laid out his game plan for Chloe and Oliver clearly.
Neither Clark nor Chloe has been a good friend to each other this season, but sometimes that’s how it goes in real life.

Clark is the main asset to this show. When he’s lowered to make CHLOE look good, people are not going to like it. Those who do, imo, watch it for the wrong reasons, which means their interpretation of it all is going to look hella biased.
I love Allison to bits, so it’s sad to see people down her just because she decided to go do other things. When MR & KK left, it was because they wanted to. People should respect that. Just like I expect people to respect that Tom Welling is the reason this show is ending next season. We’re happy that we have such an incredible show. ONE character that means nothing to the story is going to change that. It’s time for Chloe to go and for a lot of people to look to a majorly awesome season. =D

Oh, I watched. But creative boost must be a euphemism for “driven into the side of a cliff.” Zod was TERRIBLE. The entire Kryptonian plot was TERRIBLE.
Some of us did complain about MR/Lex but hoped the new show runners would have learned their lesson and kept AM/Chloe on and worked to bring MR/Lex back. Instead they lost them both and sounds like KK/Lana too.
Yes Chloe fans threatening to leave after bragging they already left last year need to grow up. Until then we can point and laugh at them!

No matter which side of fandom everyone ended up on there’s something kind of sad about a person who gets what they want and still can’t be happy. Brian, the fans of TW and ED did Operation: Global Gratitude, which was a huge endeavor. The fans of TW and KK also did a donation to the CR foundation. All fans of SV are very passionate and have organized in support. It’s sad when donations are given to “one up” what’s been done before, instead of being out of genuine generosity.

Allison Mack has been a great acctress in the seasons Smallville. Unlike any other actresses/actors, you always have to let them go. Either way, they won’t be there always. (Like Jonathan Kent) But, I thank Allison Mack for being in Smallville. She was really amazing in it, and so are the other actors/actresses. Good job all of you. I love Smallville. Always have and always will.

To Xanusus and Friends: This show has already screwed the precious mythos in eleventy billion ways. Lana isn’t a redhead. Pete is black. Martha is a senator, the Red Queen, and dates Perry. Clark is working at the Daily Planet without his glasses and dating Lois Lane before he becomes Superman. “The Blur” (good heavens, what a stupid superhero name) exists, and wears an ugly, perverted version of the Superman costume. Clark is meeting a parade of DC heroes and DC villains whom he is only supposed to meet later as Superman. Clark wasn’t killed by Doomsday, but instead by a Zod clone. The list goes on. And if I were watching this series without any prior knowledge of Superman, I would think Lana Lang was the love of Clark Kent’s life. This show will never, never be able to “line up” with any version of the comics. In the grand scheme of things, what’s with the objection to one Chloe Sullivan?

I find “mythos” a feeble excuse because I find arguments from “mythos” to be highly selective. How does one decide which elements of the “mythos” are immutable, and which are open to alternative interpretation? From its beginning, Smallville has always put its own spin on the Superman story, heavily embellishing or outright contradicting other versions, inventing its own characters and plotlines. Why can we close one eye to some changes or additions to the “mythos”, but not others? And if an element (such as the Clark/Lois romance) is featured in another version of the Superman story, do we necessarily have to introduce it to Smallville? And does it need to play out the same way? Even at the expense of previously established Smallville continuity?
It strikes me that many people who use arguments from “mythos” don’t really understand what the word means (which is why I have been enclosing it in quotation marks). Exactly how do myths form? How did we end up with “75 years of mythos” in the first place? It certainly didn’t arrive, fully formed, via facsimile from Heaven. We have “75 years of mythos” because the stories *evolved* over the decades, with the hands of many, many creators in the pot. The “mythos” isn’t fixed; it is always evolving, the DC-verse is continuously expanding. The various stories build on each other. They take inspiration from other stories or current events. They borrow some elements and ignore others. Sometimes they retcon or contradict an earlier version. The comics themselves have been rebooted several times. There are multiple alternate universes. There are a plethora of media representations of Superman (radio, movies, live action television, animated series, and so on). Each rendition of the Superman story brings something of its own to the table. How many backstories, for instance, does Lex Luthor have? Jimmy Olsen first appeared in the radio show and was only later introduced to the comics. Richard and Jason White don’t exist outside Superman Returns, but that doesn’t take away from their pivotal roles in that *particular* movie. As long as WB/DC continue to churn out comics or television shows or movies, the canon isn’t closed. Who knows, a few years down the road, WB/DC may reboot Superman again and change everyone’s backstory yet again.
Smallville is a *particular* telling of the Superman story. It needs to stand on its own. It should not require viewers to consult “75 years of mythos” in order to make sense of it. I don’t think it is reasonable to point to another version of Superman and say, _____ doesn’t exist or is extremely insignificant in this version, therefore _____ must not be important in the context of Smallville or must be rendered insignificant by the end of the series. Smallville, for its part, has developed its own mythology. The Kawatche caves. Veritas. Elements that may not be present or are of minor importance in other renditions of Superman may play enormously important roles in Smallville. There is Lana –- despite being a footnote in the comics, she, and her love story with Clark, was the center of Smallville universe for 7+ years. There is the Clark/Lex relationship. There is Lionel Luthor. And yes, there is Chloe Sullivan.

I find it funny that the CW announced that S10 would be the last season at nearly the same time that AM announced that she would only be back for a few episodes. The network must not have faith in TW and ED to carry the show by themselves, thus the early cancellation.
The premise of Smallville was never to be a Superman show, or to be a low-grade facsimile of “Lois and Clark” (which was done first, and done better by Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher back in the ‘90s). Smallville is a PRE-Superman show. If Superman/LnC is what you want, I’m not sure why you started watching Smallville in the first place, demanding that the producers abandon the premise of the show and pervert/retcon it into LnC.
If you have such a low tolerance level towards original characters and the liberties taken with the source material, I’m not sure why you started watching Smallville in the first place. Smallville has been inventing its own characters and plotlines since the beginning. Chloe Sullivan is not the only OC to have appeared in the opening credits. So have Whitney Fordman, Jason Teague, and Henry Olsen.

For seven and a half years, it was a Clana soap opera. Now it is a Clois soap opera. Even with Chloe gone next season it will continue to be a Clois soap opera. That S10 description that certain people keep quoting in the comments here about the “romance” between Clark and Lois? Says soap opera. So I hope you enjoy your Smallville soap opera.
