    It would not have “backfired” if NBC had given the show time to build. They should have expected that the ratings would take an initial dip; after all, nobody likes change, especially an older audience like the one already watching at 11:30. Back in the early 90s it took Jay three years to reach #1 after falling behind Dave. And it didn’t help Conan that Dave was dealing with his sex scandal, which led to a ratings spike (along with the comment about Bristol Palin).

    What’s done is done and no point in arguing about it. The best we can do is joke about the mess. If you don’t like Jay or Conan, don’t watch their show. I, for one, am glad Conan is back and will continue to watch his show.

    I like how people assume that Conan based his whole TBS upfront on NBC jokes by reading the couple jokes that the media printed – I’m sure that’s not all that was said either by him or Koonin. That’s just what the media chooses to emphasize. They can’t get enough of the NBC mess and seeing how strongly some people react to this entertainment industry article I can undersand why.

    Jay.. new show improvement over last ..more stars…less jay… Craig.. funny man… Letterman( well, even a bad wine improves with age…. Conan..he belongs on late night… there he can laugh at his own jokes just fine.. without keeping us awake…

    I AM FROM SEATTLE and am SOOO DISGUSTED by the idiotic ad’s for this poor dork….He may be a nice person that just is NOT FUNNY! Ad’s are so stupid i feel sorry for him…but cannot even watch the ads never mind the show…Ted, my Uncle helped you with your bison set up..do us a favor and at let stop the ads on TNT and one is enough on TBS..NEVER going to WATCH IT…HE IS NOT FUNNY even when he was after Leno I NEVER watched it..Now I miss Lopez because he on so late plus makes it a bad scedule.The A.B.A. has been good to you..do us a favor,we know you what you can afford..just eat it and get rid of the bafoon that does the same stupid intro jump or put him on at 3am….if I see him flip his hair, jump up and down like a monkey and do the pretend string to his legs..or make fun of how tall he is on the chair..the only thing about his show that doesn’t make me want to throw something through the tv is his guests…HE IS AN IDIOT DON’T BE ONE TOO…

    I’m from Everett, WA and couldn’t agree with you more, met him one time and he is a great guy but just not funny at all!!! Sorry, I can’t even watch him and immediatly change the channel if a commercial of him or his show comes on…:-(

    After years of TV commercials I still can’t see how or why Conan has a TV show. Funny is what makes me laugh. Conan makes me wonder what he just said.
