I’m assuming 3 Supporting Actor nods will be taken up by John Lithgow(Dexter), Aaron Paul(Breaking Bad), and possibly Gregory Itzin(24), and that is not counting any Mad Men noms. If LOST gets two nods in this category it will be remarkable. I think LOST deserves a bunch of nominations this year, but outside the West Wing monopoly a few years ago, one show has not been taking up multiple spots.
O’Quinn really should go for Best Actor, he might have a better shot.
Emerson’s performance in “Dr. Linus” also makes me think he’s the one sure LOST actor in this category.

Don’t rule out someone from Damages being nominated in that category. The Emmys have given plenty of love to Damages before, and I would expect the same this year following the show’s brilliant third season. A supporting actor nomination for either Tate Donovan or Martin Short (a comic actor like Short taking on a highly dramatic role is something the Emmys always love) is certainly a strong possibility.
But I completely agree with you about Michael Emerson. He was fantastic in “Dr. Linus.”
I don’t think O’Quinn will go for Lead Actor. I think the only cast members from Lost who have been submitted as leads each season have been Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly.

Anybody else wearing something Lost-related for the finale? I know that’s geeky, but I’m not afraid to own it. What an excellent, excellent show.

    • Shane

I have my ‘numbers’ t-shirt and will be wearing that!

  • Shane

Oh and my Cowboy Up (Kate hat/Sawyer line) hat.

Can we get Desmond a best supporting actor nod? I know EW and most of the fans (including myself) love Ben and Locke, but Des really put on a show the second half of this season. Especially in Happily Ever After.

  • Anna

I hope that Lost gets a special tribute and plenty of Emmys this year. Lost certainly deserves it. The actors on this show are so underrated. A lot of people have never even heard of them. Lost is a brilliant show and i really hope it gets what it deserves.

Lost is so amazing that the entire Supporting Actors category could be legitimately taken by deserving Lost actors: Terry O’Quinn, Michael Emerson, Josh Holloway, Nestor Carbonell and Henry Ian Cusick would be five phenomenal choices — and they’re arguably all better than any other supporting actors on television.

(I’d include DDK and Naveen Andrews as well, but this really wasn’t their seasons.)

  • Adam

Evangeline Lilly was robbed of an Emmy nomination back in season 5 (Whatever Happened, Happened).

In some of the recent episodes of this season, she has been getting better material.

    • Nick B

So true about Evangeline Lilly. Despite all the hate for her, Kate is and always has been one of my favorite characters. And she was brilliant in “Whatever Happened, Happened” last year.

  • Barb

Naveen has never been anything but excellent in every show. I do think he was nominated that first year tho.
I wish they did have a “Cast Emmy” so everyone could get one.

  • Vivian

That’s nice of them. LOST deserves Emmys for its amazing, epic legacy.

  • Pete

If the Sopranos could win an Emmy in their final season after that lame finale then Lost should definitely win the Emmy this year!

I hope it sweeps the Blockbuster awards

  • Rob Grizzly

Matthew Fox deserves one more nomination.

  • April C

Oh please, please, please let it win. That would be so wonderful for the hardworking cast and crew! And I know I am somewhat alone in this, but I think Matthew Fox deserves an Emmy of his own. What an amazing actor.

    • Victoria

You not alone…..Matthew Fox has been really great on this show.
