'Survivor' player James Clement stops by 'The Young and the Restless'

james-clementImage Credit: Monty Brinton/CBSIn the grand tradition of CBS reality show contestants doing the frivolous soap stint, the network announced that Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains contestant James Clement will make his daytime TV debut on The Young and the Restless June 4. Clement, who’s apparently a longtime fan of the most-watched sudser, will play a police officer in scenes with Greg Rikaart (Kevin), Peter Bergman (Jack), Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and Joshua Morrow (Nicholas).

Last October, Big Brother 11 contestants Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder appeared in an episode of CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful before participating in The Amazing Race. Before that, Heroes vs. Villains’ Colby Donaldson, BB 2 winner Will Kirby and BB 5′s Marvin Latimer stopped by the Restless set, as well.

    FIRST!!!!!!!!!

    • the vicster

      My apologies.
      I can’t help myself, because I’m a complete douche.

      • KC

HAHAHAH. The fact that you owned up to it… hilarious…

  • Michael

    Neat.

  • Stevex

James will probably get on set with a script in each pocket, and won’t be able to say a line.

    • Charlotte

      HA!

    • Yelhsa

      Zinger!
I scared my dog I laughed so loudly!

  • Nathan

Don’t forget Cirie Fields in The Guiding Light”

    • Buzz

      who did she play?

      • Nathan

It was a while ago, after her first season on Survivor. She played a detective of some sort. I believe Melinda (who was voted off early that season) played a waitress in the same episode.

  • Kristen

I hope he plays a cop that for some reason isn’t permitted to wear a shirt!

  • Gaye Bee

Great. The guy can’t put two sentences together, and he’s going to try to act. That should be most entertaining. Um, James, your 15 minutes of fame are up. Please go away.

    • ugly nikki

      Wow…what’s your problem?

    • Pat

I have to agree, the guy can barely speak English.

    • harry

Yeah what is your problem? you sound kinda jealous

    • Chantelle

I don’t think they’d put him on if he couldn’t pull it off. Being female, you should be encouraging some male eye candy for a change.

    • Silly

You should learn the difference between your and you’re before you go talking smack about someone else.

      • Talker910

Silly, I’m LMAO, where is your and you’re misused.

  • Mon

Yes, it will be the curious case of the missing shirt. And then James’ evil twin brother will show up. Also shirtless, of course.

    • Kristen

Say no more! The DVR is set!

  • Tonic

What a joke. They’re definitely going to have to have his shirt off at all times to distract from the fact that he can barely speak in coherent sentences…much less deliver lines.

    • Chantelle

      The negativity here is unbelievable.

  • Entertainment2u-Twitter

James had SUCH roid rage this season on Survivor. Even Jeff was shocked by his attitude this season.

    • Chantelle

Did it ever occur to you there might be other reasons?

  • Buzz

ummm I don’t like stunt casting on soaps , esp. with untrained actors …but I guess they have to pull out all the stops to attract more viewers…and no doubt James could use the dough … this a no-news -non event …. tell me more about Michael Learned doing a stint on General Hospital – that’s worth talking about , if EW wants to do the occasional blurb about soaps, that is more worthy of a few drops of ink that this ….

    • Chantelle

You need training to be an actor? Someone should tell Pamela Anderson. And Y&R is the hottest soap on TV, they don’t need to attract more viewers.

      • Buzz

Y&R is the most tepid.. all soaps need more viewers …and since it’s on CBS , as was Guiding Light ( which Cirie was on) it’s an easy transition, er, transaction…

examples: the big brother couple -this year they were A. Race, and previously on B&B – and Tom from Heroes vs V. also did B&B … cross-pollination w/reality stars of the moment, looking to extend the ride on the gravy train ( as thin as the gravy may be) a little longer… and bring some eyeballs to the soaps
… while taking awaytime and storyline from ( some) trained and actually talented performers who are already on the respective shows…. I guess they can justify it from a publicity standpoint.

uhg…..And i don’t consider Pamela Anderson an actress! artificially flavoured/sweetened-augmented eye candy at best… or is that worst?

  • robertj

Didn’t Jerri from Australia and heroes appear on Young and the Restless too, I think she did a scene with the character Jill Abbott and I believe that Gervase from the first survivor was on As the world turns and sean from the first one was on Guiding Light.

    • DenverDean

roberj: You’re right. I remember the scene with Jill, where Jerri made some comment that she wanted to be the Jabot spokesmodel and Jill told her that her reputation would preclude that from ever happening! LOL

  • Ember

I just hope his character punches Victor in the face. That would be awesome.

  • SurvivorFan

Tom Westman also did a firefighting stint on The Bold and the Beautiful.

  • Survivor_fan

Good for James! Look forward to seeing it!

  • MM

Instead of acting, perhaps Douchebag James should take some anger management classes, before he ends up hitting a woman.
