Some of those transmissions were so good. Whoever said that they never understood Trekkies until they became a Lostie really got us all who were watching together. I loved the Target ads, and just wish other ad teams were creative enough to try to work in Lost to their own advertising campaign.

Guys, a normal hour of TV does not contain 44 minutes of show and hasn’t in a while. Recalibrate your stopwatches.
A typical one hour program is only 42 to 43 minutes these days. Closer to 42 actually.
The other 18 minutes are network ads, promos, billboards, PSAs, as well as local ads.
It seemed pretty clear that when ABC OK-ed the additional half-hour it was doing it for monetary not artistic reasons.
Lost *always* seemed particularly commercial heavy, and the finale was no different. Eleven commercials in a row?? Really, ABC? ELEVEN??
So, if I understand correctly, you’re telling me that the Lost finale had about an average amount of ads? If regular shows have 44 minutes of content (I’m pretty sure its more like 42-43 minutes), that leaves about 40-45 minutes for ads during a 2.5 hour program, right?
Last chance for ABC to use the Lost ATM machine.
that’s the problem with corporations these days – they are so greedy. ABC typically pimps out it’s best shows with overkill of commercials or too long of a haitus for anyone to keep caring about a show…then they say we have short attention spans. Um, No. I’m just sick of the greed mentality.
