Give me a break, what kid watches anything from 10:00p.m. till 6:00 a.m.? Soapnet is/was one of my favorite networks. Big mistake taking soapnet off?

This is a very bad decision!!!Pre-school children should be in bed early, not up watching TV!! I use Soapnet every single day – I can watch or tape soaps on daytime, but not if they are broadcast at the same timeslot. So, I record some during the day, and some in the evening on Soapnet. Also, if the electricity goes out or they are pre-empted, I can uaually catch them one way or another with Soapnet on the air. If you take it away, there are no choices but to watch it on a computer – ugh!!!!

I’m out raged that SoapNet will cease to exist as of 2012 . I’m a huge GH fan, and love having the option to watch GH at night if I’m in a hurry to get off to work and forget set my VCR to record GH. I personally find the decision to incredibly wrong. SoapNet must stay. You can have both channels. Please think of all the people that are going to out raged like me.

the decesion to drop soapnet is wrong, wrong!!! i am able to catch up on shows late in the day when all is calm and quiet…also i have been able to follow ryans hope as i had to go back to work when it first aired in the seventies…truly one of the best soaps ever. i sincerely hope another station will pick up soapnet.

this whole thing stinks!! There are already a dozen Disney channels. Let us keep the back-up to our soaps. It’s the only way we can watch if they are pre-empted locally.

there are many sports channels and cartoon networks and they pick on the woman or man that want to relax at night and watch 1 soap channel its not fair the same sports reports come on over and over and our soaps are on only one channel i will never get that and then our channels are also always interrupted by the politicians in the daytime and i looked forward to the soap channel to catch up

There are enough Disney Channels! I watch Soapnet more frequently than all the Disney Channels combined. This is a terrible idea…and I am tired of paying for channels I don’t want and getting STUCK with with them without any say.

Not everyone has the kind of Internet access needed to watch shows online. Some of us live in rural areas that can’t get DSL or through cable.

  • Jennifer

They need to keep on soapnet because I watch all my soaps on soapnet the people that work can not watch their soaps on t.v. You will lose a lot of rating on t.v because people will be at working and not be watch daytime soaps like they can watch on soapnet so can you save the soapnet for the fans.

  • Tracy

Oh no they can’t do this! I’m not able to see my story when it comes on at 1:00, and this way I was still able to watch it.

I am a huge soapnet fan and am very disappointed and can not believe that I won’t be able to watch my One Life To Live at 9pm est!!! Sooo many other channels to choose from why SoapNet??? Well now it won’t be hard to do away w/ cablevision now! I’m sick of paying a high price to watch tv and pay for channels I don’t even want!!!!

  • debbie

why can’t they air the soaps still at nite?? they interrupt the shows on the regular networks constantly. It is so frustrating!! that’s why everyone prefers watching them at nite on soapnet. Please reconsider, or at least keep them on at nite when no preschooler should be up watching tv

  • Barbara

I kept hoping I would hear they had deciced to keep Soapnet or possibly somebody buying them out. At a time when the soaps need all the help they can get, what with Guiding Light & As the World Turns, being cancelled you would think there would be pressure from the networks to keep it on. If they want Disney for preschoolers why does that mean they have to get rid of Soapnet??

I am fricken sad over this news. I am obsessed with watching 90210 re-runs (in order might i add, which i loved) and One Tree Hill as well. If it wasnt for those re-runs i wouldnt have even started watching General Hospital which i now have a fondess that grows each day. I never watched soaps before in my life, except when i was a kid and was forced to watch As the World Turns, Y&R, and the Bold & the Beautiful when my mom would monopolize the tv. I really really hope a new channel emerges with 90210 and One Tree Hill at least. 90210 is so fricken nostalgic for me and it makes me feel at home. CURSE YOU DISNEY!!! CURSE YOOOOOOUUUUUUU!!!!!!!
