Ghost Whisperer has officially crossed over.
The long-running Jennifer Love Hewitt drama — which was axed by CBS last week — will not be jumping to ABC after all.
Executive producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses confirmed the news via the following statement: “After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved. We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.”
A rep for ABC Studios, which co-owns the show with CBS, declined to comment.

I’m not surprised it was canceled, this season was absolutely horrible with addition of the child for Melinda. The kid is ugly and beyond horrible at acting. The storyline was getting a bit ridiculous as well with the “shadows” and all. Hopefully Jennifer picks up another series to work on soon.

I haven’t a clue of what you look like but you seem to be quite ugly yourself saying something like that about a child. It’s bad enough adults get slammed about their appearance so often, but targeting a child, what is wrong with you to say something so mean? You should be ashamed of yourself. I know I am ashamed of you. Maybe you’ll read this and get a clue and it will do you some good, change the way you view the world because it seems as if you can say something like that about a child then you can say just about anything cruel. I agree exactly with DCV74. I used to DVR and watch it every Sunday afternoon.Once the kid came it was terrible.
I loved the show. For me it jumped the shark when Jim’s soul entered the other guy. I couldn’t see why he had to die in the first place! I also liked Jay Mohr much better than Jamie Kennedy.
I’ll miss it, though.

I love Ghost Whisperer and am glad that last week I learned who the “shinies” were. It was beautiful. I love the idea of people hanging around after they pass and that some of us can see them. Wonderful story. It was a lovely show and I will miss it.

If you didn’t like the show or didn’t watch it you have no right to comment about it. There are those of us who truley loved the show and it’s not fair to the show or the people who liked it for people who didn’t even watch it to put in their comments.

I’m not as heartbroken as I thought I was going to be… The finale was pretty satisfying as a series finale so I’m a little sad to see it go but I won’t make a big deal out of it. Legend of the Seeker on the other hand…

I’m extremely saddened by this, it was one of the better television series out there. Jennifer love hewitt is such an amazing actress and can’t wait to see her next project. But for now, I’m really disappointed both in abc and cbs
I’m sad about Ghost Whsiperer been cancel is a shocked to me because I love Ghost Whsiperer. I hope in ten year from now their have a Ghost Whsiperer: The Next Generation and have Adien Melinda son as a main character just like Degrassi: The Next Generation or 90210: The Next Generation.
Not surprised, but disappointed. The show did JTS with the Jim “Heaven Can Wait” s/l. Was pointless and should have been undone at end of last season. It’s ironic the Medium actually had a nice wrap up episode as SF. Too bad it didn’t work out for GW.
i hated the whole jim out of body thing. stopped watching for almost a year. but loved when it jumped ahead. very good. jim was jim. at least finale was a good ending. the shinings defeated the shadows.
I AGREE ,JIM SHOULD HAVE HAD AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE IN THE HOSPITAL AND AFTER SHE SAW HIM HE SHOULD HAVE COME BACK TO LIFE.THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE BELEIVABLE.I STILL WANTED THE SHOW TO CONTINUE.THE ONLY WAY TO SHOW CBS AND ABC HOW MANY FANS STILL REMAIN IS TO BOYCOTT BOTH NETWORKS AT THAT TIME SLOT.
I actually didn’t mind the fact that Jim died and came back stuff, it just got plain awful when the pain in the behind kid came along this season, developed rapid aging syndrome and became the focus of so many shows. I stopped watching, then.
Bummer. At least there wasn’t a cliffhanger. Hope to see everybody in new projects soon.
