Oh my god please at least nominated Zachary Levi!!! He deserves it! He’s amazing every single episode and like you said, he epitomizes the new brand of hero: he’s your average sweet, caring, wonderful guy next door who would never break your heart :) and he plays it so well!! He and Yvonne Strahovski blow me away every week with their chemistry :)

    Jim Parsons is the best!

Amy Poehler all the way. Tina Fey is great, but not as much as an actress. Tried cougar town- Courtney isn’t bad, but Amy Poehler is such an amazing actress on parks and rec. I love steve carell, but this season of the office can’t hold a flame to last season. I like Joel McHalee, but every time i see him on community, i see the host of The Soup. I think Alec Baldwin has been overrated in the past, but he has been terrific this season in 30 rock.

Lea Michele as best comedy actress, give it up for comedy, drama, singing and dancing.

I wish Zach Levi could win. But I’d also put Matthew Morrison on my dream ballot.

  • Kristine C.

ditto with Zachary Levi. I wish Yvonne Strahovski will make it too. chuck all the way!

  • Ember

Psych deserves some Emmy love! It’s one of the best shows on TV.

  • Flashback

Ah, yes. Reminds me of the era when Pamela Anderson would win every year for “Baywatch”.

  • John

He’s resting safely in the supporting category.

  • Dee

ITA with both you. Girl can kick arse in one scene and totally break your heart in the next. Yvonne’s role usually calls her to be the ‘straight man’ in most of her scenes but when she gets a chance to show her comedic side (like in the Honeymooners episode) she nails it.

  • Melissa

Agreed. Zac deserves to be nominated.

  • elr

I like the nominations for Better off Ted too. I would love to see both of them win. Such a great show! And because of this cancellation and now that Lost is gone I can say that I will only be watching 3 hours of their scheduled programming. I don’t plan on watching anything new that they put on until they get a clue and keep and stop their cancel happy ways.

  • Dav

Phil and Lem are the best comedy couple ever. LOVE THEM! So sad this show was canceled and so MAD at ABC for doing it. >:(

  • Juliet

    THANK YOU MARI.

  • melissa

i completely agree! everyone that i talk to about glee is so annoyed by lea and wish every episode was not centered around her!!

  • susan

The whole “diva stuff” is what makes the role the way it is! She plays it perfectly! If she didn’t play it “over the top” it wouldn’t work. That’s the point! And that’s why she deserves to be nominated.

  • murley

she is playing a diva, that is the point. if she were overacting for the role then the director would pull her back. i think lea deserves a nod without a doubt. she owns that role.

  • Amy’s a loser.

oh brother. go back to reading your Womyn magazine.

  • @ Amy

    :::eyeroll:::

  • murley

amy, you should DEFINITELY take yourself more seriously.

  • Vikki Sixx

The only way one might take offense to the way the women on Cougar Town are portrayed is if they fit into one of those categories and are ashamed of it themselves. The show portrays men in just as negative a light. One of the things so many people miss about the show is the fact taht they take typical stereotypes of people in general (male and female) and mock how ridiculous it is. That’s it. Get over it.

  • shdrew

I couldn’t agree more!!! Cougar Town is awful.

  • Ames

Can’t we all be right? Cougar Town is a horrible show — started out with promise but then plunged downhill. But Courtney Cox really gives it her all on the show.

  • Howie

@ commenter, that’s not nice to say about the mans other half!!!

  • KCC

are all the amys talking to the first amy??

  • Javier

Newsflash, writing in all caps makes you look like an idiot.

  • ddutchie88

AGREED! Tony Collette is awesome and deserves some love! I mean, a show about a woman with multiple personalities.. how cheesy and unrealistic does that sound? Toni Collette makes it work!! I can’t believe how cute and awesome United States of Tara is. More people should watch it!

  • Maureen

I agree with this! I know the SAG Awards has ensemble awards; the Emmys should have one too.

  • MiMi

a thousand yeses to Zachary Levi please!

  • melissa

    Yesss Zach!!

  • Bake

    I couldn’t agree more-Chuck rules!

  • Mr. Know-It-All

Ty Burrell is in the supporting, not the leading, category.

  • BHM1304

Its time that these idiots who nominate and idiots who make up “Dream Ballots” recognize the brilliance that is Charlie Day on “Its Always Sunny in Phile”. These guys do better work on a tiny fraction of the budget of shows like “The Office” and “30 Rock” yet never get recognized for their acting or creative brilliance.

  • lefty

I was thinking this statement. Sheldon and all of his situations are completely shtick. He lost me this season…I was on board with him last season though.

  • Ames

I have to say, i don’t understand all the affection for Big Bang Theory. I think it’s mean-spirited.

  • Kelly

you’re frigging kidding right? Zac Levi is really good at what he does. And Chuck and Sarah’s relationship is actually one of the main reasons why the show is so lovable.

  • murley

if you don’t watch the show i don’t see how you can comment on what the story line is. i love when people are “experts” on things they know nothing about. classic.

  • js

kelly you must have really low standards because Chuck is poorly written. Its basically a procedural show disguised as a serialized comedy. The same thing happens every week, and Zac Levi’s lack of acting skills just makes it worse

  • murley

i would love a nod for schwartzman (lead) or dansen (supporting). bored to death is great. also, better off ted deserves some love, another show canceled way before its time.

  • jeu

she makes and carries the show

  • HoneyB

I think that’s her character. I saw her on Broadway for Spring Awakening, and she was not as overemotive.

  • Kurt

    Good call.

  • JJ

Yes!! The whole cast was great but Portia was awesome!

  • Hilary

Javier, honey, talking like that just makes you a jerk.

@ZACH America did a fantasic job this year. I agree…she should be nominated.

  • Hilary

she carries the show because of her voice, not her acting skills.

  • Lu

I really think Lea deserves a nomination, she’s an amazing actress, not just a great singer!

  • Laura

Agree! And the show is the best, too.

  • strawberry lumps

while i do like the show i just thought i’d point out that split personality disorder IS a real mental illness and while it might be “cheesy” at times it’s not “unrealistic”. other than that i totally agree with you.

  • strawberry lumps

it’s only funny because it’s true.

  • avoidinglaundry

Ditto here! The guy has great comedic timing!

  • KCC

your right ali!! courteney cox’s lines have great timing!! “Bitch slap some since into him”, “step up in my kitchen”, i laugh thinking of them

  • KCC

oh and the best line! “i carved a ‘t’ after your boyfriend wrote die bitch on my island in my kitchen. So now it says diet bitch, it really helps.”
