'The Bachelorette' down versus premiere; 'True Beauty' underwhelms

true-beautyImage Credit: Sammy Vassilev/ABCWeek two of ABC’s The Bachelorette averaged 7.55 million viewers and posted a 2.4 rating/7 share — down 16 percent and 14 percent, respectively, from its premiere last Monday. The two-hour episode still won the 8-10 p.m. hour in 18-49 and the key female demographics, having aired against repeats on Fox and CBS and the Stanley Cup Finals on NBC.

At 10 p.m., the season premiere of True Beauty earned a 2.1/6 among adults 18-49, down 34 percent from its series premiere last season on Jan. 5 (3.2/8). The show ranked No. 3 in its timeslot among viewers (5.24 million) but still scored wins in the female demos. Overall, ABC was up 1.3 million viewers and 15 percent among adults 18-49 from Memorial Day last year, when it aired The Bachelorette as a lead-in into the premiere of Here Come the Newlyweds. The Bachelorette also posted year-to-year increases over its performance on Memorial Day last year by 1.6 million viewers.

CBS won the night in viewers (7.74 million), followed by ABC (6.86 million), NBC (5.90 million) and Fox (3.11 million).

Wow, True Beauty tanked? Who didn’t see that coming? Other than the morons who run ABC?

So terrible yet so addicting…I’m ashamed. They know exactly how to get us…No commercials between the Bachelorette and True Beauty. It hooks us and drags us in. It’s like a bad car accident…

  • Mel

This is great news. Now hopefully ABC (all the networks actually) will stop airing all these garbage “reality” shows.

    • well, dummy, you’re wrong. networks will always air reality television, especially in the summertime — it’s cheap with quick productions and the potential to make a decent amount of money. granted, i think true beauty is awful, but there are awful reality shows just as there are awful scripted shows. way to show your snobby attitude.

      • CalmYourself

Why the attitude? Can’t someone express a valid opinion without your calling names. And it’s snobby not to like subpar reality shows? You admitted to not liking True Beauty, but the other poster is a snob and and a dummy for the same opinion. Hmm… what does that make you? I’m sorry that you felt insulted; I know how easily that can happen to the unintelligent and uneducated.

Bachelorette Ali is a big yawn fest, only the guys are interesting.

  • jfms777

“True Beauty” is a travesty. Did all 10 “beauties” have to be unlikable and self-absorbed? I suppose I should
not put “humanity” and “reality show contestant” in the same sentence.

I watched most of the first season of True Beauty. I assummed it wouldn’t air again, because how could you fool another group of people after the show aired. These contestants didn’t watch the first season? Probably not; I don’t think many people did.

Im going to miss Law and Order, but at least I still have my glass of red from the thewineclubdirectory.com

True Beauty is a trainwreck. Could they have found less interesting contestants or judges? Absolutely awful. Hopefully none of these fools will ever be seen on tv again. As for Bachelorette, can’t understand why they would give it to Ali, not attractive, seems totally phony, and a big bully on The Bachelor. Who is casting these shows? Gross incompetence.

  • kimfar

Its the bachelorette….Ali was a bad choice no one really liked her. I know I didn’t. You should have picked Gia! She was interesting and beautiful.

I love this show at datingsugarmommies
