Exclusive: 'White Collar' nabs Diane Farr

diane-farrImage Credit: Jordan Strauss/Getty ImagesRescue Me and Numb3rs vet Diane Farr has signed on to guest-star in a season 2 episode of USA Network’s White Collar, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Farr — who memorably played against type as the chemically dependent mother of The Fairview Strangler, “Eddie,” on Desperate Housewives last season — will portray Gina De Stefano, a waitress Mozzie (Willie Garson) has a crush on. She drops a hint early in the episode that she’s in trouble and needs his help.

White Collar‘s second season premieres July 13.

I’m gonna ignore this and keep believing Moz is gay.

    • topoopon

I must have ZERO gaydar, I didn’t see it. Why does everyone assume the character is gay?

      • Michelle

His character was gay on Sex and the City. It doesn’t mean ALL of his characters are gay.

      • erin

I never watched sex and the city, and mozzie seemed pretty gay to me. Maybe he can be bi.

      • topoopon

Sex and the what? Never heard of it. Though seriously, I have never ever seen one episode.

  • Dave

I’m gonna ignore this and keep believing Moz is gay.

  • Joelle

Another underwhelming casting choice for White Collar. And I too will keep believing Moz is gay…

    • Tarc

There’s never been anything underwhelming about White Collar. The casting has been perfection so far. USA is working miracles by hiring clever, intelligent actors and even more intelligent, talented writers.

      • Paula

I agree on the casting. It has been perfect. I love Moz. I think he should get a girlfriend. I don’t think he’s gay, although he plays the part magnificently.

  • Amber

Me three. I hope all these new love interests don’t take the focus off the cases.

  • Sab

Seriously. What is up with all the ‘love interest’ nonsense? This show was fine without it last season (the Kate thing was off screen most of the time), so why are we getting this nonsense this season?

And if we *must* have them, why two such irritating actresses? I’ve always thought USA were good at casting – I don’t know what’s up with them lately. Have the casting people decided they hate ‘White Collar’?

And yeah, Mozzie works best as a gay character. I shall just ignore this silliness.

  • Chappel

Good actress, pretty gal but she has one of the most annoying voices I have ever heard. Maybe I will be able to watch it with captions so I can turn the sound off.

    • Anon

When I first started watching Numb3rs her voice irritated me, after a few episodes I barely noticed.

      • Sammi

Same here I could not stand her voice when she first came to Numb3rs but then I loved her character so much that I didn’t notice it anymore. I’m really excited she is coming to White Collar! It will be nice to see her on TV again.

  • Garry

I’ve never even heard of “White Collar”, but I might tune in just to see the drop-dead gorgeous Diane Farr (and I love her voice, too).

    • Alex

White Collar is an awesome show, definitely give it a shot.

  • Trip

Underwhelming? Diane Farr is great. I loved her on Numbers and thought the show really started going down hill after she left. I hope she’s on for more than one episode.

    • Luminosity

I’m with you, Trip! She improves every show she is on.

    • lis

I agree with Trip. Numb3rs really crashed and burned after Diane Farr left. Still… Mozzie?

  • UncleWalty

that’s not a great picture of her, but she is a real beauty. Whenever she’s on screen I can’t take my eyes off of her.

  • EveatEden

    love her!

  • Jay

She is not an attractive man.

  • m.

I would have thought that Mozzie is asexual (he doesn’t care about it all) or bisexual (swings both ways).

  • dallasjack

Yawn….. Does this deserve its own headline? Must be a slow news day

    • Anon

The story doesn’t interest you so it’s not important…what an ego.

  • justin

Love this move. She was great on Numbers.

  • BenLA

Don’t forget Agent Diana is gay, if they have Moz gay it would blow the ‘acceptable’ gay quotient for a series. However, I agree, character Moz should be gay, he’s too fun, stylish, and humerous not to be. I am gay and can say these things :) Also agree on possibly too many love interests. I’d like more screnn time with the ‘guys’ and Elizabeth/Moz/Jones. 44 minutes is not enbough to be adding new characters each week. Will rob us of Neal time too. Also, any way to get more than just 16 episodes?
