I am SO hoping that Alias remake will go down in flames and explosions before anything happens. Why remake a great show? There’s no need. Besides, the only Sydney Bristow I will ever recognize is Jennifer Garner.

Agreed! It’s kind of annoyed to hear them talk about being married and husband/wife all the time when there is 0 legal recognition to their marriage. You would think that since everyone on that show has been near death multiple times they would want to tie up all their loose ends.

There are millions of gay couples all over the world happy that they are “married” through ceremonies that aren’t legally recognized.

In fact there are straight couples who also do the same. I.E Pagans or people who are just happy to stand in front of their friends and families and commit to one another. Why should the State or “God” tell someone that they are bound to one another. I thought it was couples who decide that they are dedicated, being that they are the ones in the relationship. Not some suit or deity.

I agree with Shonda. In my eyes, they are happy. Isn’t that what the fans should want? You’ve been screaming for their happiness for so long now. They have it. Yet you still want more…

I don’t really care whether they marry or not, but it annoys me how they’re kind of childishly sitting on the fence going ‘Oh, I don’t really want to do the wedding thing’ while at the same time refering to each other as ‘my wife’ and ‘my husband’. Every time they do that I think ‘Uhmmm, no your not’. Either accept that it’s enough just BEING with each other, or get married for real!

@ Kristy: Families overturn patient’s DNR’s all the time, especially if it’s the spouse. I don’t agree with it, but I saw it every day in the ICU. The hospitals are trying to avoid getting sued by surviving family members of the patient.

I think there’s a difference between gay couples who actually WANT to marry legally but can’t, and straight couples who CAN marry legally but find it more comfortable to pretend instead of doing it for real. The first is caught in a sad and unjust situation, the latter in a childish pretend world. (Which, in this case is actually right on the spot, ha ha)

She seems to have a huge concept of the business seeing as her show was so big and has managed to stay on air and do well.

Doris, there are plenty of folks that aren’t atheists or agnostics and still don’t look at the “religious implications” of every decision they make. frankly, their post it wedding is as legally binding as a religious wedding is. as in not at all. the legal aspect is something you have to file with the government. which is bs imo. it’s just another excuse for the govt to take our money. and then to take some more money again when you get divorced. and then more money to change your name. and so on… the whole you have to be a family member/spouse thing is stupid to me anyhow. Everyone should be able to decide who can make their medical decisions/visit them when they are sick etc… individually. it reminds me of an episode of golden girls where they didn’t want to let the girls visit rose in the hospital. as if it was better for her to be alone until her kid who she wasn’t that close to arrived when the people who knew and loved her best were right there all along. it’s a stupid and antiquated construct.

i want fox to win it this year. it is his last chance to be recognized for his AMAZING work as jack shepard and he definitely deserves it. hugh is amazing but maybe he can just win next year.

agree with you lana, I even stated the same thing a few pages ago. Its like two different lines of thinking for the shows, which I understand are different, but again I say, she made it look like all pregnant teens get their fantasy wedding.

@mary q contrary Although I must admit that sometimes I would like Derek and Meredith to be legally married, because of all the issues mentioned by the previous posters, I also found the post-it idea very original! Actually BRILLIANT! It’s one of the things I like about the show: its ability to surprise me, even if that doesn’t mean always a realistic approach to its characters’ lives. If Meredith was my best friend, I would probably advise her to go quickly to City Hall and comply with all formalities, but as a character in GA, I can perfectly live with her post-it marriage!
