Everything looks great except for James Frain as a vampire (looks odd) and the Twilight werewolves which wouldn’t scare a fly.
What do you mean, the “Twilight werewolves”? The wolves being used in True Blood are real wolves, not computer-generated.
and the series the show is based on came WAY before twilight. twilight is crap, these are good.
quit comparing this amazing show to something as trivial as twilight, the wolves are way better than that garbage and are for the most part real
People, I know the series came out before Twilight. I am saying the wolves look like wolves not anything special that a werewolf should look like. They should look fearsome and on 2 legs like Underworld or Dog Soldiers. ….. I will now wait for the obligatory “then dont watch or comment” comment.
In the books (spoilers btw), true weres change into the actual animal, as I understand it. Only ordinary people who are bitten turn into man-animal hybrid monster thingies. Maybe this is just another way to try to remain faithful to the source material
NO they shouldn’t stand on 2 legs. That is a common false assumption in pop culture. In real shifter fantasy, weres look exactly like the animals they shift into. Film has distorted people expectations of what a werewolf is or should look like. Research this if you don’t believe me. In fact what you will find out eventually in this series (if it follows the books) half breed werewolves (weres who weren’t born a were)stay half-human and stand on two legs.
A werewolf is simply a human that can shift into a wolf.
I have read the books, Alcide and the werewolves are not true shape shifters (gaw, I feel so nerdy discussing this) like Sam Merlotte. The simple point is the werewolves are very disappointing looking because they look like plain wolves you find anywhere now. I can see Jason turning into a type of Wolfman type creature since he was bitten but that 2 legged concoction is a far cry from the werewolf in “popculture” today which are 4 legged but can stand up on 2 legs like Underworld.
Anyways, I am so excited for the new season even with the cute and cuddly werewolves.
The Were change into the real animal not into a cartoon for Kids, and they looked very bad ass, as human or animal. I didn’t see anything “CUTE” about a real fully teethed
Jamie, since you’ve read the books then you should know that Werewolves are also considered shapeshifters like Sam, but they can only shift into one type of animal: a wolf. Quinn is a Weretiger and when he shifts, he looks like a real tiger but with more expressive eyes. The same goes for the wolves. I actually think the wolves look cool.
The Twilight werewolves are fake looking…True Blood is using real wolves.
