Exclusive: Will Forte vamps it up on 'Parks and Recreation'

will-forteImage Credit: Jeffrey Ufberg/WireImage.comPawnee is playing host to another Saturday Night Live reunion.

Parks and Recreation star/producer Amy Poehler has recruited Will Forte to guest star in a season 3 episode of her TCA Award-nominated comedy.

The MacGruber spoofster will play a Pawnee resident whose obsession with the Twilight franchise complicates a pet project Poehler’s Leslie is working on.

Hint: Think time capsule.

Forte is the third SNL regular to make a pit stop in Pawnee. Fred Armisen and Andy Samberg appeared in separate episodes last season.

In other Parks and Rec news, I dropped by the set yesterday to shoot an upcoming episode of Ausiello TV. Very good times were had. Here’s a sneak peek!

Hopefully he will be back as Jenna’s boyfriend on 30 Rock as well.

    • Meagan

Agreed! I thought he was fantastic on 30 Rock!

    • LOL

His talent was misused on 30 Rock. The role of Jenna’s boyfriend was embarrassing. Hopefully Parks and Rec will give him a better part.

    Sounds like an interesting character.

I’d be more excited about this if NBC hadn’t made the moronic decision to push P&R to midseason. As usual, just as a show hits its stride, delay the new season four months so eventually people stop caring.

    • Elizabeth

I think the move was made with Amy’s pregnancy in mind…

      • JLC

I would think that, too. But they have shot numerous episodes already, and shooting continues. The new season doesn’t start until late September. Why push P&R back to January?

      • Bobby’s Robot

I read NBC wanted to push ‘Outsourced’ by putting it in the Thurday night line-up in the Fall.

      • topoopon

Bobby’s Robot is RIGHT! This has nothing to do with Amy’s pregnancy, and everything to do with NBC’s pilot sched. NBC announced the reason weeks ago.

      • Ambient Lite

        Ugh! Eff Outsourced!
I am totally convinced the delay has nothing to do with Amy Poehler’s preganancy/baby. Just another dumb move by NBC. It’s been hard enough to get people to notice the brilliant hilarity of Parks and Rec, this certainly won’t help. I am so mad!
On a positive note, I love the idea of a Twi-sessed male character. Good stuff.

It has nothing to do with Amy’s pregnancy. Production on season 3 began almost immediately after production on season 2 finished, so as to bank enough episodes before Amy started showing. That way, production can take a hiatus later on when Amy gets bigger, and there would be episodes ready to air in the fall. NBC is stupid for holding their best comedy until midseason. Especially given that P&R is their lowest-rated comedy, they should be doing all they can to increase the amount of viewers, and holding it until midseason is not going to help.

    • JC

yea it’s a bogus move. I’d rather have a few episodes and then a long hiatus than have to wait until January! Hopefully “outsourced” bombs (I refuse to even give it a shot), so they can put P&R back on the schedule.

    Can’t wait… I love Will!

Shoot… I should’ve asked Michael to check with Nick Offerman and the wardrobe dept. to see if they actually are checking my dad’s closet and coming up with Ron’s clothing choices.

  • DB

will arnett was also on an episode!!!!!!

    • Johnification

Yes, but he was never on SNL.

      • Rick

I’ve made that exact mistake before (thinking Arnett was on SNL). It could be a common mistake, or we’re just rubes. I’m thinking the latter.

  • p

How much longer until new Parks and Rec?! I already miss Pawnee’s crazy citizens, making fun of Jerry, Andy and April, Adam Scott, Ron’s mustache, etc.

  • JRose38

Andy Samberg was hilarious on P-Rex.

  • izikavazo

I hope Andy Samberg gets to come back, I’ve never had so many laugh out loud moments.
