The decision to cut AJ Cook and reduce the number of episodes of Paget Brewster has cost this show at least one viewer and I hope many more. I will not support a show or a network that treats women as disposable characters. Both of these women brought a depth and heart to the show that the men cannot replace. Bad, bad decision CM and CBS and I hope the ratings reflect just how poor decision this is.

      well, this viwer is gone

This is such crap!! You want more money? Fire the damn spin off instead!! I love AJ! JJ probably would have survived had the writers actually written stuff for her! The character was great for the show, and if I were Paget, I’d get together with AJ, pull an Adam Rodriguez, say “kiss off” and find a new show and when CM flounders, cuz it WILL…stick it in their faces!

WTG CBS you just killed one of your strongest series! What, the ratings go up so the cast number goes down? Oh wait, I’m sorry this is the all boys show…no girls allowed!

CBS, you just lost a viewer and I’m sure there will be many more!

I agree completly. I will not watch this show anymore. I would luv to see there faces when cutting A.J and reducing Paget for financial reasons bites them in the bum. I doubt losing alot of there viewers and having hardly anyone watch the spin-off improves there financial gain. I thought that when they made there spin-off that that was the stupidest mistake. How wrong was I. CBS do you get your ideas from the book of dummies or something?? you just lost another viewer

‘Financial hardship’ and the first two to be impacted are the strong, insightful women? I’d rather have seen Rossi go than JJ. JJ has been there since the beginning and she’s the base for so much.

Ugh. So sexist and bad plotting to boot.

I’m relived they’re keeping my eye candy (Moore, Gubler, and Gibson) and the absolutely rocking Garcia, but I will definetly miss Brewster. JJ not as much – I loved the whole story about falling in love with the cop & all, but she hasn’t had any lines that couldn’t have been said by another character.

  • Jeannette

J.J was the heart of the team. I will miss her!!

  • Viv

But they’re the only reason to watch this show! The surprisingly competent eye candy!

  • dbalcer

This is a mistake you need her to balance the show and make it not so dark. CBS is being pennywise and pound foolish with this type of decision.

  • Shell

NO. Criminal Minds has been my favorite show since episode one. But with no JJ and reduced Emily? Considering the half-assed season they just had, I’m not sure I’ll be back.

  • mike

    not a smart move CBS

  • greg effinger

That is stupid….If anything the show needs a strong female lead with heart…AJ fit perfectly…I’m a fan but this sucks…If anything cut back on the male lead who bores me…I can’t even remember his name…He was a replacement to begin with…

    • Rebecca

You mean Rossi. And yeah I agree with you, he has run his course. Time for him to go back into retirement. There is so many more possibilities for storylines with JJ and Emily than Rossi

  • Ingrid

This is a stupid decision! AJ Cook and Paget Brewster are both fabulous on this show! What is with this new trend of cutting out any and all strong female characters. First CSI now Criminal Minds. What is this sexist BS???
I will not watch the spinoff – think it’s a dumb idea..but i will not watch Criminal Minds without AJ or Paget!!! I have been a fan for all the yrs they have been on…No JJ, No Emily WTF??? Has CBS just lost there mind entirely??

Ummm, Sarah (Jorja Fox) is still on CSI and while Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) left CSI:NY she was replaced by Sela Ward (from Once and Again) and Anna Belknap is still on the show. CSI:Miami still has all of its females still (Emily Proctor and Eva LaRue, my personal favorite).

They need to get rid of the worthless Joe Mantenga!

    • Fisher

Amen to that! I never felt he contributed all that much anyway and I’m sure a well know actor like Mantenga is costing them big bucks. They don’t need a big name actor. The rest of the cast is doing just fine thank you!
