'True Blood' spoiler alert: Eric 'spurns' Sookie

true-bloodImage Credit: John P. Johnson/HBOHBO just released the official loglines for True Blood‘s three July episodes and, no joke, they’re pretty bloody spoilery.

“9 Crimes”
SUNDAY, JULY 11 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)
“Sookie (Anna Paquin) joins Alcide (Joe Manganiello) at a raucous engagement party for Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan), his former fiancée; Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) is given a deadline to locate Bill (Stephen Moyer); Andy (Chris Bauer) gets a promotion and draws Jason’s (Ryan Kwanten) attention; Franklin (James Frain) takes Tara (Rutina Wesley) on a road trip; Arlene (Carrie Preston) is irked by Jessica’s (Deborah Ann Woll) arrival at Merlotte’s; Sam (Sam Trammell) brokers a deal with Tommy (Marshall Allman) and his parents, Melinda (J. Smith Cameron) and Joe Lee (Cooper Huckabee); Bill “procures” dinner for Russell (Denis O’Hare) and Lorena (Mariana Klaveno).”

“Trouble”
SUNDAY, JULY 18 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
“Alcide and Sookie turn to an alpha-wolf “packmaster” for advice on dealing with Russell’s minions; Tara considers a proposal from Franklin, who’s completed his mission for Russell; Joe Lee breaks his promise to Sam and Tommy; Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) learns the meaning of patience from Jesus (Kevin Alejandro), his mother’s (Alfre Woodard) orderly; Jason meets his match in the mysterious girl Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher); an heirloom reminds Eric of his past and his ongoing thirst for vengeance.”

“I Got a Right to Sing the Blues”
SUNDAY, JULY 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
“Spurned by Eric, Sookie fears the worst for Bill, whose fate now lies in Lorena’s hands; fueled by a night of bloody passion, Tara executes a desperate plan to stave off Franklin’s advances; in Bon Temps, Tommy finds it difficult to leave the family nest; Jessica puts Pam’s teachings into practice; Jason’s romance with Crystal hits a snag, as does Lafayette’s with Jesus; after revealing his master plan to Eric, Russell visits Louisiana to put it into action.”

    Please cancel this show.

    • Jo-Lee

Why? It’s so good and more interesting than other shows.

      go DIAF.

    • Janey

I totally agree. I hate when fun, interesting and watchable shows are enjoyed by people!

    • Lilian

If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it. Simple.

    • KrzMiss

Who takes the time to comment on show they want to get cancelled… get a life.

    • Michele

yeah, they’re gonna cancel a ratings powerhouse and pop phenomenon because some dude on some message board asked them to.

      • Justine

it’s a book series for crying out loud. The show should remain fairly true to it and based on these spoilers, it’s very close to book three in terms of main plot and situations.

Also, if they had followed book 2 more closely, we would have never had the nightmare of Maryann last year.

      • kylla

Actually, Justine, I thought the Maryanne story was great. I like the new additions. Why would I need to watch the show if it were EXACTLY like the books?!? I like the books, but I also like to not know everything that about to happen.

      • jenna

I agree, I love the books but the show adds to the story. They can draw it out as much as they want to.I will still watch and still buy the books.

      • Lili

I thought the books were crappy, I am glad Alan Ball created other characters for the show and developed his own storyline. This makes the show so much more interesting than silly books.

    • miss.

FU ythu. why don’t you just change the channel?

    • miss.

also Justine – I’ve read all the books. still love the show. if you would learn how to separate the two, since the show is merely BASED on the books, then you shouldn’t watch it either if it’s going to continually disappoint you.
      … just sayin.

    • Jason

Unless someone is forcing you to watch it, shut the F up! Even though you don’t enjoy this program doesn’t mean that everyone feels the same way. Hell, if it worked that way, I would have had Seinfeld and The Office removed ages ago… Here’s how I solved that issue. I CHANGED CHANNELS!

    • Maryann

Hate to tell you, ythu, but “True Blood” has already been signed for Season 4.

I just started reading the books (been watching the show from the beginning and LOVE IT). I actually think Alan Ball stayed pretty true to the books (so far – I’m only on book 2 so maybe I’ll think differently later). I like the changes/additions he’s made so far. Keeps the show interesting. Why watch it if it’s exactly like the book?

      • Lisa

Wow. And you’re still on this thread are you ‘ythu’?
Did you not make it as an extra on this show? Is that why you True Blood-hate so much? :-P

    I think there’s something more to “spurned” and I don’t think it’s about Bill…..

    • Maggie

Agreed, there are alot of eric flashbacks this season I think Godric is in one, GREAT! So he will have alot on his mind, plus he did kinda just loose his dad :(

      • Jangbogo

I think Bill was doing fine in True Blood .then they brought Eric into the show and balscaliy stole it, BRAVO! How can you love Bill? seriously, he’s old and .he’s old. I’d much prefer a 1,000 year old vking by my side and I can be his anytime!!

      • Nkosingiphile

Her fairy cousin, Claude. After ardeing the interview, I’m already excited for her 11th bookin the series. The statement at the end about an elf making an appearance in that book and how you never want to meet up with an elf has really piqued my curiosity!

    • camaisie

I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that he tells her she doesn’t really want HIM, just not to think of Bill – and that he wants her only when she’s fully with him. No second banana for the viking – fits his character, if she comes to him when she’s not all boo hooey a la Bill, he gets a stronger hold on her.

These were “just released” about a week ago…

    • Vishnu

First, let me say that I appreciate the wnirang of adult content; therefore, I did overt my eyes for a single second so as not to miss any of it! LOL OhGawd, I do love the Viking Vampire of Sexy! LOL Great Job on the video!

    • Mukesh

Sookie’s fairy cousin, Claude is her new romamote. I love that this series is continuing and so glad the author isn’t giving anything away! Don’t want to ruin the suprise!

I kind of hope Mr. Ball follows the books when it comes to getting sookie and eric together.

    • S

For real. I’m tired Sookie & Beeeel

      • Ijun

yeaaaah! At first, i was like he looks so familiar! blah blah. and now, I’ve coenectnd him with Eric. Lol. I don’t even know his name. but.. sometimes he stares at me in the hallway or occasionaly if i see him other than after a certain class yeah..except he isn’t as muscular, very skinny..

    • p

Same. I want my Eric and Sookie scenes!

      • Lory

me too i want sookie & eric so badly !! they are the best !!!

    • Kris

He already said that he wouldn’t in an interview with TV Guide. He said they are telling a different story and “Bill and Sookie have a connection that will never die”

      • redreh

Actually, I’m kinda grateful for that. In the books, I’m ALL about Sookie and Eric, but I really like Sookie/Bill in the show.

I mean, Alexander Skarsgard is hella fine, but I’m not sure the show’s Eric meshes that well with Sookie.

      • chichi

Sookie and Bill always have a connection but that doesn’t mean Sookie and Eric won’t have one too. Interesting to see how closely AB follows the story. I want to see the relationship build with Sookie and Eric love that tension in the book and show. Bill is so boring.

      • miss.

        totally agree with redreh.

      • Lili

I love Sookie and Bill together, they have great chemistry.

      • camaisie

See… I don’t know. AB said at last years Comicon, when asked by an audience member if the Sookie, Bill, Eric storyline was going to track with the books – “Yes.” Not even a pause in his answer and no elaboration. He just leaned into the mike and “yes.” So, unless he’s changed his mind (I watched the youtube of this, btw – no print redux) since then, I think it will track with the books.

This show is decent I guess. I’m really watching for Lafayette. It sounds like he’s going to get his heart broken?

  • Wally

Hey Ausiello would you mind not putting SPOILERS IN YOUR HEADLINES?? I didn’t read any further and maybe that headline’s not really giving much away, but still! Keep any spoilers to the small print. Thanks!

    • Doc Jensen Minion No 1

I totally agree with you Wally. While I don’t care about this show SO much that I try to avoid spoilers, they should be in the text of the article and NOT the headline.

    • Colleen

Most fans have read the books so there is not much TO spoil. There are only a few characters Alan Ball has added that were not mentioned in the books. That would mostly be Jessica and the Magister as far as major plot lines go. I am surprised Ball has not added Bubba (Vampire Elvis). Maybe he thought that would be too over the top.

      • Lyn

He said in an interview a long while ago, about Bubba, that he would not be adding him because he thought the character wouldn’t translate to the screen. Seeing him onscreen would derail from things, because you’d be sitting there going “oh, it’s an Elvis impersonator”.

    • lele

I really don’t think the majority of the show’s huge fan base has read the books. I don’t think it really matters though, since I heard the show is already really different than the books. But even though I usually read Ausiello for spoilers, the constant suspense of the plot makes me really not want to know anything for this show beforehand, which is cool.

      • Aslinn Dhan

You are wrong, we have read the books

      • kcc

wow he is wrong because you one person has read the books. Personally i don’t know anyone who has read the books.

      • chichi

I’ve read all of the books. Some of them I have read twice. Great stories. Great show too of course!!
