'Gossip Girl' scoop: Meet Chuck's new 'Blair'

Ugh. I want Chuck and Blair back together. DNW a new girl for Chuck. This is a terrible idea.

Why did they cast a girlfriend for Chuck?
Are Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz TRYING to destroy the show?

JUST FIX CHUCK AND BLAIR
Have Chuck do everything in his power to make it up to Blair
Have him support HER once (instead of her supporting him)
Have him sacrifice something important to make her happy.
Then reunite them and write them as the sexy awesome couple they were before Season 3.

DONE. THAT is how to save the damn show.

Riiight. The writing of Chuck and Blair has been sloppy. Blair has suffered due to Chuck, it’s fact. It’s cannon. Repeatedly. She suffers or has to be jealous or fight because he has issues. And this will be another instance. Forgive people for wanting to see something different.

J, now your statement is moving and sweeping. People weren’t discussing how they felt about Chuck’s actions pre-finale, but what he was possibly going to do post-finale. I don’t want to get into that because it’s so insulting to see them ruin the one ship they’ve built up for so long, but I haven’t forgotten about it either.

Now arguments of stanning side, on to your other conclusion that he’s giving up on Blair. Is that the only way to interpret it, and must it be condemned as such? If Blair says she doesn’t want him in her life anymore, why would he try to force that when she said it with such finality? So, no, I don’t think it was such a bad idea.

Yes, but pre-finale informs post-finale. It’s all one show. Especially if you’re talking about redemption and ‘moving on’. It’s not a clean slate. People would not be so angry if the Chuck/Blair was a mutual thing due to them growing up, but it wasn’t. Chuck fucked up. Badly. Again. In a way which seemed to show little regard, love or even sexual jealousy for Blair. She was used as a commodity. Blair was horribly hurt.

We never saw him really apologize (until the weird rushed and deceitful proposal), we never saw remorse…and now he has a new girlfriend. We know Chuck is capable of showing caring, remorse, concern–he does it for Lily and Serena and Nate. One thing I’ve seen many people agree on–Chuck never fights for Blair, but he has been shown fighting for the Palace, for his family, etc. He sleeps with hookers minutes after the breakup, Jenny almost immediately after Blair doesn’t show. Now, one of the cruxes was that he only had the one girlfriend, Blair, and that’s why she was special–well, now that’s gone too. So, yeah, I think showing no remorse to her, and then getting a new ‘perfect and warmhearted girlfriend’ shows he’s given up on Blair. Isn’t that what ‘moving on’ which is the phrase you guys used, means? When Nate gets a new girlfriend is that a testament to his maturity? No, it’s Nate getting another girlfriend (something he’s repeatedly mocked for, btw). Chuck’s also shown romantic inclinations for another girl before–Elle– so I don’t now why this is being held up as a wonderful example of Chuck’s growth.

I understand Chuck fans want him to have many loves, and much attention, and that’s not going to be a problem because he’s pretty much always the focus, or the moral voice of reason (which was weird). You’re going to get that. He’s not shackled to Blair anymore. So…you’ve gotten what you wanted. All people are saying is that they don’t like the storyline and don’t want Blair to be hurt during it. Which I don’t think is unreasonable or stanlike.
It is another nail in Chair’s coffin though, because this isn’t showing Chuck’s love for Blair at all and they haven’t been showing that for a while. That would concern me if I were a Chair shipper, but to each his own.

We don’t know how it will play out, but this seems same old same old to me (and apparently to some other people).

J- The shooting being the redemption would be so weak. Chuck’s shooting was a stunt. This casting is a stunt. They’d be going in the wrong direction with Chuck and CB if that were the case. I guess they’re banking on their tween audience to buy anything, huh?

The only real way to show Chuck’s growth is to show it with him being solo or show it with him behaving differently and more maturely with those who have been hurt by him. A new Chuck behaving perfectly with a new gf and new friends who have never been on the receiving end of his garbage does and shows nothing.

You are right about the hypocrisy and funny some of the viral Chuck stans at that place are bringing. I think I know where you’re talking about. Does the place in question have some Fs in it’s name? I didn’t realize people were registering multiple accounts. That makes so much sense, now that you mention it. A lot of those Chuck stans over there only know how to say “WORD” and “AGREE SO MUCH”to each other’s posts. I’m dumb not to have realized.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. They think that Blair and Chuck have hurt each other in all the same and equal ways. They think what Blair did with Jack was the worst thing to ever happen to CB. They think Dan and Blair would KILL the show and KILL Blair’s character, but Chuck trying to prostitute Blair and sleeping with a girl he once tried to assault is fine and dandy, AOK, everyday acceptable behavior that doesn’t kill or harm Chuck’s character. I hope we never see Dan and Blair, btw. Yuck. You are right, they’re hypocritically funny. They’re also begging for jealous Blair, petty Blair, hurt Blair, sad Blair when she finds out Chuck has a gf. If it’s not what happens, Blair doesn’t deserve Chuck. They also want Blair to be written awfully. It’s only fair since Chuck was a colossal mess in season three. They’re making no sense at this point. It’s comedy coming from them, 24/7.

I hope the producers have a good plan for Chuck and his new gf. Because if Blair suffers, hurts, is saddened by Chuck or his gf for a prolonger period of time it’s going to impact my ability to like him or CB. Let someone else cause Blair harm if I’m supposed to continue to root for CB or Chuck.

Amy- No. I don’t think she’s all that pretty. If I thought she was, I’d have said as much with no problem. Had they cast Emanuelle I’d have said she’s gorgeous. Because she is. I don’t think this person is. At all.

Just to clarify..I can’t even hate Chuck because it’s the writers fault. It’s just that if they are going to continue to write them like this, and say this is how they work together (the way they have been a while) and don’t explain, 3×17, I don’t want them together.
