Image Credit: Patrick Ecclesine/TBSJordana Spiro has fallen out of Love Bites, NBC’s upcoming romantic anthology series from Sex and the City scribe Cindy Chupack.
Spiro’s involvement with the buzzy Bites (which also stars Ugly Betty vet Becki Newton) has been the subject of much speculation given the fact that she’s still contractually bound to TBS’ My Boys. Although the odds appear slim that TBS will renew the show for a fifth season (season 4 premieres July 25), it was a risk NBC apparently wasn’t willing to take. It’s unclear if her role will be recast.
The Peacock faces a similar dilemma with Spiro’s My Boys costar Kyle Howard, who is one of the leads of NBC’s new comedy Perfect Couples.
Speaking of My Boys, thanks to all those who participated in my informal poll in this week’s Ask Ausiello. The results are in and Kim is not the only fan of the show. Not by a long-shot.

SUPERlamesauce. Why can’t she do both? My Boys only airs during the summer anyway…and only airs about 9 episodes at a time. They can plan ahead for a talent like Spiro.
It certainly doesn’t seem like they tried hard to keep her. She could have easily scheduled both, especially since My Boys probably wont get another season.
This is a great show, and it deserves a 5th season.
Why wouldn’t she be recast? She’s one of the stars of the show.
because maybe they have hopes of her rejoining the show after the fate of My Boys is decided.
This is stupid. She was great in the promo NBC released. She deserved the show, both shows, she’s fantastic. Kinda lame, NBC. But I’m not surprised after the whole Conan/Leno fiasco.
I don’t mean to to stir the pot but maybe this has something to do with My Boys being on TBS also where Conan is going to be. NBC has a problem with TBS and is punishing her for coming from there and not immediately saying “I’ll chance it here and screw my other job.” Maybe they want someone to be exclusive to the network.
She won’t last in NBC anyway, Worst station to work for, they cancel half their shows every year
I HEART My Boys!
(but not nearly as much as I HEART you, Mike!)

Despite the fact I watch My Boys, it doesn’t surprise me it wouldn’t get renewed. Jordana is great, though, and I probably would have watched ‘Love Bites’ just to see her in it, but she would have been the only reason.

NBC did not make a good decision. I love My Boys and was very excited to hear Jordana would be in Love Bites…it’s the reason I had planned to watch it. Since I do not care for Becki Newton it’s not likely now that I will watch.
It’s NBC! Need I say more?
I totally agree. I planned on watching for Jordana; now probably not. That was a short-sighted decision for NBC.

Isn’t Kyle Howard ALSO in Love Bites?!?!
From the promo it seems like he would only be in one week- I heard that there are different intertwining stories about love in every episode, but the show seemed to be focused on Becki Newton and Jordana Spiro. To be honest, Jordana’s character seemed to be the only good part of the promo (still love you Becki!).
GG, read the WHOLE article !
good. My Boys is awesome and that new show looks abysmal. The trailer is so, so bad.
I LOVE My Boys. I hope it comes back.
GG, yes, Kyle Howard does appear in the first episode of Love Bites according to the preview at The Futon Critic.
I echo all the My Boys love, and don’t see why the leads can’t do other projects when the show has such short seasons and sits in limbo all the time anyway. But with Jim Gaffigan gone, and the way TBS has treated the show the last few seasons, I too fear this is the last of it.
Between Gaffigan leaving and the way TBS shuffles it around I am ready to give up on it too, though I really liked it alot. Mike and Kenny are such a funny duo, and all the characters are fun. It just never really seems sure of where it wants to go.
Love Bites sounds dreadful. Reviews have not been kind. Jordano is probably counting her blessing.
I had thought that with so many of the stars being in upcoming shows, My Boys was a goner. I’d be delighted if it weren’t, but since it seems to be going that way, I was happy that so many of them were going to be on my tv again anyway.
I don’t see why Ms. Spiro couldn’t have both jobs. She wouldn’t be the first actor to have a show on another network and I’m sure she’d have been phenomenal at both.
