NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Please dont go Steve, The Office wont be the same without you….

  • The Truth

I think Michael Scott leaving may actually help the show. The last couple of seasons I found his screen time to be cringe worthy at best. The minor characters have become more interesting and entertaining. I bet you will not even miss him after a full season after he is gone. But I do think the show would not be able to survive with either Jim/Pam or Dwight leaving.

well, no more michael, no more The Office thats obvious… and the end, sure with Holly! I think they should never made the “michael Scott paper company Inc.” story at season 5, they should’ve saved it to the final season. at season 6 michael should be pissed off with sabre, the printers and Jo. at the season six finale he shoulded quit and say “who’s with me” and the end. than now at season seven, 4 months later we see the michale scott paper company battling dunder mifflen sabre… the recurring cast, some would be with michael and some still in sabre… it would be fun!!!! holly come back married with AJ to sabre scranton, michael has to win her back, it’s hard because she don’t wanna quit dunder mifflin!!! and the series finale, they are back, michael scott paper company begins to grow! and also would be a great way to have david wallace working for michael!!! it would be a awesome finale!

I think the show was ruined when Jim got a promotion. He became a different person-no longer playing tricks on Dwight, etc., and Dwight’s character became kind of lame, too. I’d like to see them wrap it up-hopefully on a high note.

Seven seasons is a good run. Let Michael Scott and Holly reunite. Resolve the Dwight-Angela story by having Angela be promoted to corporate and having Dwight want to come to New York with her. Let Erin either get together with Andy or Kevin (just kidding).

Meredith and Creed disappear together somewhere near Tijuana. Oscar becomes Regional Manager. Kelly realizes how horrible Ryan really is and never looks back. Phyllis becomes Mrs. Refrigeration 2011. Toby publishes his book and becomes a millionaire. Darryl becomes President of the United States. Gabe gets a backbone and takes over Sabre so Kathy Bates can retire with her dogs.

And then David Brent wakes up at his desk in Slough and says, “I had the most loony dream…”

    • Nerd

Last we saw David Brent didn’t have a desk anymore, just a steering wheel, a mobile, and a fax at the nearest hotel. “Who does your tampons?”

Bob Newhart approves of this ending.

NBC would LOVE to keep this show around and Michael Scott is THE essential, pivotal character. That jerk of a character is necessary for all the other characters to react to. Steve Carrel is uniquely qualified to play this role. The show would NOT be the same without him. Changing the show would likely alienate the audience.
Either the producers need to bring another antogonist to replace the Michael character, or find a dollar amount to keep Steve. Otherwise, The Office should just have a satisfactory ending after seven seasons.

I love The Office but without Michael Scott, I can’t imagine enjoying the show as much. I hope NBC decides to end the show before this season starts instead of letting it go to an 8th season and fail and get cancelled.

  • Andrew

Karl Pilkington should take his spot.

  • Jeremy DC

I also think it should end after next season. Steve Carrell is leaving and the show isn’t as good as it used to be. It’s still good but not the same. What show ever stayed great after seven seasons? Actually I think seven seems to be the magic number in the world of television. Nothing should last more than seven seasons.

while i totally disagree with all this “the office has gone downhill” nonsense i do think that it should end with carell’s exit. he is the star of the show, although it is a wonderful ensemble, and the symmetry of the show ending with his happy ending and the realization of his evolution would be lovely. i will miss the office but i would rather have a tight 7 season show to watch over and over than risk it coming back as a shell of its former glory and dwindling out.

  • Ellen

Let Steve go and be with his family, and let Michael Scott and the Office end with his departure. It’s been an amazing run, even with the last couple of seasons going downhill, the show is still better than most. 7 seasons is respectable. Without Michael, the other character’s don’t have much to react to or go off of. He is the essence of the office. No one can replace him, and I don’t think anyone should try.

  • Adam

Henry Winkler would make an awsome manager for Dunder Mifflin, if they wanted to keep the series going.

  • Paul West

OK, if Steve goes, maybe Will Ferrell or someone else could replace him? Or maybe Ricky Gervais’ character moves to the states!
