Starz put themselves on the original programming map with Party Down, then decided “Hey, let’s get off this crazy map”??? We’re breaking up, Starz.
They realize they just don’t have what it takes to compete with HBO and Showtime in terms of original series. Best for them to stick with Rob Schneider movies I guess.
That sucks, especially since ‘Party Down’ seemed to be getting more press lately.
Not unexpected, but a bit sad. About Party Down, that is. Gravity was a giant steaming pile of awful. Here’s hoping that like Adam Scott & Jane Lynch, the rest of the great Party Down cast (Lizzy Caplan, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen & Martin Starr) all go on to bigger things. It’d be tough for it to be better, though.
By the by, it’s Lizzy Caplan’s birthday. Always good to find out you’re unemployed on your b-day.
Party Down was some seriously hilarious and underrated television. Too bad.
I’m sure Jane Lynch lost her Lunch when she read the above article.
really pissed about both… especially with the way gravity’s finale ended
wtf!!
Boourns. At least I can get my Adam Scott fix on Parks and Rec.
“*I* was saying ‘Boo-urns’…”
Vicious Kind…
I liked first episodes of Gravity but as it went on it got boring, nothing ever happened, not enough humor and the final episode really sucked.
Watched the first episode of “Party Down” and it wasn’t anything special.
Oh well Starz still has Spartacus…
and with that I no longer have any reason to watch Starz again. farewell, Party Down. Good riddance, Starz.
Mike, you might want to check your spelling here, I’m pretty sure that Jane Lunch was never on party down or glee
I’m so used to falling for great shows only to have them yanked off the air that this doesn’t even surprise me at all. At least Adam Scott had the foresight to get another secure job before this happened. Hopefully Caplan, Hansen, Marino and Starr will be back on tv very soon. Grab your destiny by the balls and squeeze hard, guys!!
Party Down may be a good show but no one was watching and you can’t blame it on Starz being too small;a ton of folks watched Spartacus.
This is so disappointing. Party Down is a brilliant show. I know the ratings sucked, but come on, it’s Starz!
very sad about party down. but at least there was a sense of closure in the last episode.
it had the potential for longevity with a revolving cast…
Haha, Jane Lunch…but seriously that is depressing. Party Down is one of the best shows on TV!
