Here are 10 reasons to vote for me for PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian!

edelstein-ausielloHouse‘s Lisa Edelstein and I have something in common besides our love of all things Huddy: We’ve both been nominated for Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2010! Even better, since there are separate categories for men and women, L.E. and I won’t be forced to go toe-to-tofu — PETA’s pun, not mine. In other words, you can vote for both of us. Or if you’re not a House fan, you can vote for me and fellow nominee Kristen Bell. The key point I’m trying to get across here is you really need to vote for me. And here’s why: READ FULL STORY »

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Gossip Girl,' 'Chuck,' 'True Blood,' 'Greek,' 'Grey's,' and more!

ask-asuielloImage Credit: Giovanni Rufino/The CW; John P. Johnson/HBO; Paul Drinkwater/NBCGot a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Just want to say hi? You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com

Question: I love the idea of Lynda Carter playing Ma Bartowski on Chuck. Do you know if she’s seriously being considered for the role? —Andy
Ausiello:
I asked Josh Schwartz that very question and here’s what the boss man had to say: “I’m a big fan of women with lassos. [Lynda's] an icon as an actress and is someone who fits the show’s universe…but not necessarily for this role.” Translation: It’s a long shot. So what kind of actress is he looking for to play Chuck’s MIA spy ma? “I don’t want to shed too much light on the character,” he hedges, “but we need someone who can kick ass.” Okay, let’s go with my second choice then: Jamie Lee Curtis. Who’s with me?

Question: I’m looking for a Community bulletin. —Frida
Ausiello:
If by that you mean, will I give you some fall scoop, sure, Frida. Though we now know that Senor Chang isn’t qualified to be a Spanish professor anyplace but Sesame Street, Ken Jeong will be back. Even before his character was exposed as a fraud, “I was worried,” he admits, “because I knew they couldn’t take Spanish forever at community college.” But now the teacher will become a student. And “I think he will definitely try to hang with Winger a lot more,” Jeong suggests. “He’ll relate to him, because [the former lawyer] is also at Greendale because he got caught without the credentials for his job.” READ FULL STORY »

giuliana-and-billImage Credit: The Style NetworkThe Style Network announced that it ordered a third season of the reality series Giuliana & Bill. The show’s season two finale on March 14 was the network’s most-watched telecast ever among women 18-49.

The show follows the celebrity marriage of Giuliana and Bill Rancic, who live 2,000 miles apart in Los Angeles and Chicago. “Style viewers have fallen in love with Giuliana and Bill, and have tuned in for every honest and open moment the couple has been through since saying ‘I do,’” said Style Network President Salaam Coleman Smith in a statement. “Now, with a baby at the top of their wish list, viewers will continue on this very personal journey as they explore new options for trying to expand their family and face some of the hardest issues a couple can go through. Season three will be a pivotal time for the Rancics, and we are looking forward to finding out what will happen next.”

The second season of the show, which premiered in January, was up 15 percent in viewers versus season one. The record-breaking season two finale attracted 304,000 women — more than five times Style’s first quarter 2010 primetime average. The third season will likely bow at the end of the year.

'Kate Plus 8' specials way up in viewers

Categories: Cable, Reality TV, TV Ratings

kate-plus-8Image Credit: TLCThe premiere of the first of two Kate Plus 8 specials was a boon to TLC on Sunday: The episode titled “6th Birthday Surprise” averaged 3.4 million viewers while “Inside Kate’s Worlds” attracted 3 million. Both episodes not only posted triple-digit gains over TLC’s second quarter averages in the time period but earned double-digit ratings and delivery gains over the November 2009 airings of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

The Kate Plus 8 specials — which focus on the divorced mom’s complicated home life — are different from Twist of Kate, a new TLC series debuting this fall in which the mother of eight will travel the country to meet families with challenges at work or at home and attempt to “walk a mile in their shoes.” It’s unclear how many specials TLC will produce, but the next one airs July 11.
