PERFECT casting. iCarly is a great show, even though I’m probably too old to be watching it, and seeing Jane Lynch on it will be nothing less than awesome.
Same here. It’s a guilty pleasure my brother and me. This is such awesome casting!!!
I love seeing all the adult fans coming out on this thread. iCarly rocks!
How the hell does a kid’s show keep getting these big guest stars?
Because it rules.
I never would’ve given this show the tiniest chance if I didn’t have a 6 year old daughter but it is SHOCKINGLY good. Yes, it’s juvenile and kind of hokey at times but it’s really well written and the cast is better than they have any right to be.
It’s pretty much the opposite of everything that I despise about Disney channel and Nick sitcoms. It’s genuinely funny.
I actually have to agree with you. Usually Nick shows suck, but the humor is quick and snappy. The chemistry between the 3 leads is really great. It’s not as great as the shows Nick showed in the 90′s that I grew up with; but hey it’s better than Hannah Montana. Oh and I have a very strange obsession with Jane Lynch
I have to agree. Like you said, it has it’s real kid moments where it’s cheesy, but for the most part the writing is good enough for adults to get it and enjoy it. The other thing I think is good is that it focuses on things other than kids getting boyfriends and fighting with their friends. So many “kids’” shows are so melodramatic, and it’s easily picked up by most kids. I taught third graders and I swear the way they talked and fought you would have thought it was junior high.
Sounds like it’s because Jane’s stepdaughter is a big fan. She is probably doing it as a gift to her.
The show really is that good.
I’ve heard so many adults talk about the merits of this show, that I just have to stop in and watch. When is it on?
Every 30 minutes or so
You can turn on Nickelodeon at any time and literally have a 90% chance of catching either this or Spongebob.
She’s actually perfect to play Jennette McCurdy’s mother on the show.
I just graduated law school & I admit to LOVING this show! Jane Lynch is a PERFECT casting for Sam’s mom.. I can’t wait to see them interact! Jeannette McCurdy seems like such a good actress, so I hope this lets her show a little more of her range.
I am over thirty and like this show too!! It is one of those shows that Nick does so well, there is the silliness that kids like and the kind of more mature humor. Jane Lynch does seem perfect, hope she paid attention to all that Sam as said about her mother – and heck, what kind of woman would produce Sam (and Sam’s alleged twin, I am with Freddie on that one). I am very curious about Carly and Spencer’s parents though – we know where dad is, but where is mom? And like why is there a like ten year age difference between them?
Their dad is overseas in the military, and their mom (I think) is dead. So Spencer is her guardian. And there’s no big mystery for a ten year age difference between them… some families have medical issues having kids and maybe have a big gap between them.
The bigger question is how can they afford all that stuff???
@JMB, I think both of their parents are still alive. There was an episode where Carly was doing an award-show version of the webcast, and I believe she really didn’t want to be late for it, since her mom and dad were tuning in to watch it live from the dad’s military location on a Navy sub (at least, I think it’s the Navy).
And, yes – I always had the same question on how Spencer could afford his place. I guess he’s a more successful artist than we all realize
I love iCarly, and I love Jane Lynch. It’s two great tastes that taste great together! lol
My kids watch both shows (tween boys), YEAH!!!!!
I am an adult who loves both Glee and iCarly so I can’t wait for the episode. Jane Lynch is the perfect choice to play Sam’s mom, what a get for the show. I think that Jane and Jennette will work really well off of one another.
My 6-year-old son LOVES iCarly, and I’ll be honest it’s the one show that I can watch with him and actually enjoy. This is awesome news!!
This show is actually pretty good. I originally brushed it off as a kid’s show, but it’s pretty funny.

Damn it, I know a guy who might be on iCarly… if he ever ends up meeting Jane Lynch… I may have to kill him even more…
