In fact, in the premiere, we’ll see him smiling, laughing, and canoodling on the beach with at-long-last ladylove Cuddy. Clearly this can mean only one thing: The relationship is doomed, right? “I don’t think [so], necessarily,” Hugh Laurie tells me. “But let’s face it, neither of these characters has a clean license.
“‘Buckle up,’” he adds, “would be my advice.”
Lisa Edelstein, who plays House’s significant other, shares her costar’s trepidation. “I was terrified of saying ‘I love you,’” she admits. “But I think that in the final scene of season 6, Cuddy makes it clear that she’s ready to go for it.”
Laurie is ready too, weird as it may feel to him. “Even the appearance of happiness [in House] has taken some getting used to,” he says. “I had a week of happiness training before the season started up, and I’m whistling more than usual.”
Is his small-screen counterpart whistling more than he did, say, when he was with Sela Ward’s Stacy? “I’ve always thought of House as a romantic, and I don’t think romantics are much given to comparing,” Laurie demurs. “But speaking as a friend of House, he seems to be attracted to strong women. He likes to get as good as he gives—and I mean that in as many senses as are suitable for a family readership.”

I agree with Ranger99. It’s BORING as hell these past few years. But seasons 1 thru 3 were awesome IMO.

House will never get stale…he saves patients because he is a great doc…that’s what the show is about!!!!!! and his co stars are also great…Love You House Keep going strong!!!!
True but what was fun and interesting THIS past season was we saw a different House – a House with feelings and emotions. We saw him interact more humanely to his friends and even the patients. THAT is what broadened the Disease of The Week storylines.
I agree it’s time to change things up a little for House. I don’t think I could have watched another whole season of him popping vicodin. It’s the challenge for the writers of the show to allow House to be happy and still create a “mix-up” with the rest of his crew. He can still be outspoken, even if he’s happy. I’m just excited to see where this goes!
You forgot a step in the format: patient almost dies and then House has a revelatory moment while talking to Wilson and runs (okay, limps really fast) to the patient’s room to save his life.

LOL That’s the same Cameron saw as an immunologist. Foreman allways sees neurological. Only chase seems to come up with different ideas (and has, on occasion, solved the case instead of House). House said himself that when you get a sick patient, the cardiologist will say it’s a heart problem, the oncologist will say it’s cancer, and so forth.

Ignore “K”‘s comments. Ranger is spot on. EVERY show’s characters have to move forward within the storylines. Even Kirk and Spock’s characters grew on the TV show and in the movies.

First, I have to say that Hugh Laurie is brilliant. Second, the show’s success is at least 90% Laurie. So, I don’t really care about the storyline as long as Mr Laurie get a chance to show his talent. I wish House could turn into a blow up comedy. love when he play gigs, like in a sketch.
So, producers, what make the show boring is when like last season u waste various episodes On Taub subjects. Extremely boring. Nobody who sees House turns on to see taub’s issues.Very boring. Chase is more interesting, and I think u could transfer the drug issues to him. well just thoughts.

I agree. The Taub story arc was getting me ticked off. It’s rather dull, in my opinion, and a Chase one would be m,ore interesting. But now that there’s finally some real Huddy in the show, I hope they actually focus a bit on that and not ignore it to focus on Thirteen and the reason for her ‘vacation.’

me and my girlfriend are loyal House watchers. More me then her. I have watched every single episode and more then once that I could tell you the whole episode within the first 10 seconds or it. most of the time less.besides being entertaining and funny, it is a bit educational. enough that i will actually look up on my own what the disease is and more about it. people will say the show is repetitive, but what show isnt? CSI is the most watch show on earth right now with what like 2 other branch offs (NY and Miami) and it is tha same way. House FOREVER!!!

Yes, we know the formula is the same. But in case you don’t watch the show, what we’re watching is the interaction between the Drs: House and Cuddy, House and everyone, relationships, smart ass and funny comments to patients.
you seem like you watch the show. me my-self haven’t missed a show yet. question for you thou is have u thought or had any questions that maybe he is imaging that they kissed again like last season. because he rips off medecine cabinets is about to take some pills then she walks in and stops him. i was just wondering and since u seem to watch the show i wanted ( or really need ) ur suggestion because no-one i know really watches House enough to comment on it. thanks……
But that’s basically what happens in hospitals… you get a patient and you have to treat them, then you get another patient, and so on and so forth. How else can they change it about?
I disagree, a bit. Procedurals very much follow a procedure. Case is presented, dead identified, suspects identified, guest stars introduced, first 1-2 suspects don’t pan out, in the end the one guest star you recognize is the murderer.

I actually sort of like the derivations from formula that House made this past season, though I may be the only one.
In the beginning of the final episode House has a bloodied hand. Then the flash -back begins. At the end of the episode his hand is not bloodied. Did anyone notice this? I think his love affair with Cuddy is indeed a hallucination due to this discrepancy. Anyone?

i dont think it would last. not as long as we think. i think the show will go pretty stale if they do work out. its exciting now because well he is going threw his own personal turmoil is inner turmoil. so i think what the writers will do is have them last for a little bit, break it off and at the end of the series have them get back together. but all you also have to realize this show is largely based on Sherlock Holmes largely inspired by it. so tell me this does Sherlock have a wife??

I disagree that Hugh is a “Huddy.” He has to sell “Huddy” because that’s what TPTB are determined to give us, and that’s all Ausiello bothers asking about these days. What else can Hugh possibly say? There are a lot of people who are not on board with this at all; it’s his job to try and sell it to us so the show can regain some of their lost viewers.
And YES to Ausiello’s question about whether this “romance” (and I use that word lightly) has been the beginning of the end for this show. It is unrecognizable now.

I am pretty much upset that there are no plans for DVD. I am a big fan of Cher but I just could not aforfd to go to Vegas, so I hoped to see the show on DVD. I think this is going to be a really interesting season. We’ll get to see a new side of House which we’ve only seen glimpses of before. The show would be too predictable if House just continued to be the same grumpy miserable person for 6 years without anything new happening in his life. The medical mysteries are an important part, but are not enough to sustain the interest of the viewers for 6-7 seasons. And yaaay for Hugh Laurie being a Huddy!!

Hugh is a “Huddy” because let’s face it – Lisa E is one beautiful woman! And what’s nice about this – they both are “AGE APPROPRIATE” for each other. Makes it believable.
I did Jenny Craig some years ago and after four months on the prgroam I got sick of their food. It is a limited menu but some things were good like the cakes, pancakes with veggie sausage, cheesecurls, and the chicken sandwich.
Why to come here and tell how the show **cks? There are several other places where you can all get together and whine. Nobody forces you to watch I swear. Your life has become miserable ’cause David Shore doesn’t listen to you, that’s sad.
