Academy Award winner Javier Bardem is expected to appear this coming season as a rock star who befriends Artie (Kevin McHale).

Bardem pitched the idea to Glee boss Ryan Murphy, with whom he worked on this summer’s Julia Roberts starrer Eat Pray Love.

“We’re going to rock the house,” enthuses Bardem, who became an unabashed Gleek after watching the entire first season in one week. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.” (Reporting by Dave Karger)

There are many sites focusing on this kind of relationships such as “” B l a c k W h i t eC u p i d . C ○ M””… recommend it here, check it out “” B l a c k W h i t eC u p i d . C ○ M””!! ;)

      • ythu

Solid, this web site is prefered over True Blood.

    • DUSTIN

      No Country For Gay Men

    • Jersey Jeff

      Wow I hate this idea,and I’m Gay

      • Jersey Jeff

and you’re also not Jersey Jeff

    • pennysnotes1

Love Javier! So sexy and he has kind eyes.

  • Laura

Um, wasn’t this already in the magazine? Strange that it’s being posted online AFTER that.

  • VLH

I want to be on the show so will they write a part for me. Nope I’m not a famous person I thought the show was all about making people famous.

  • D

I really hope that Glee remembers what made it a hit to begin with- and it wasn’t the gajillion guest spots… I was a HUGE fan of season 1, but I HATE the direction that it seems to be moving in. Don’t alienate your fan base, Glee… they’re why you’re coming back for a 2nd season.

    • Zoey

I totally agree…I hope the second season doesn’t turn into “Let’s parade around a bunch of famous guest stars just because we can”.

    • Eric

You love season 1 but you hate guest stars? How many episodes of season 1 did you watch? This sounds no different to me than the parade of guest stars the show turned into during season 1.

      • Noodle

And Javier Bardem has some serious acting chops….I have no issues with this. Doesn’t feel like stunt casting, its more like when Idina Menzel was on….I think this could work. Now, if they bring on Britney Spears or something, then I’ll be disappointed in the show. THAT would be stunt casting.

      • Anna

Britney Spears would be effing exciting television. She managed to not screw up How I Met Your Mother during her guest spot…for the, like, two minutes she was on. XD

    • Mike

I don’t mind guest stars. Especially famous ones, BUT please do have them play themselves. Like Kristen Chenowith and Idina Menzel. Let them be other people (if they can act worth a darn). It was ridiculous to have Olivia Newton John on their as herself. She would have been better as the captain of another cheer team or another glee team.

      • Mike

Please DON’T have them play themselves.

      • anonymous

Unless it’s Josh Groban and Olivia Newton-John playing themselves as judges. “Brunettes have no place in show business.” But agree that they should have saved her guest spot for the finale and forgone the related Sue plot earlier.

    • Edmonton Girl

What is the problem with guests? I like all of them and think they have added to the show. And to have Javier Bardem not just admit to being a Gleek, but looking to participate is cool.

    • jackie

I’m not liking these ‘themed’ shows; the Gaga, the Madonna. It’s losing the plot quite seriously.

  • dee123

Um, does anybody else think this Combination is really bizarre???

    • Ella

      YES.

      • Ixarix

        No.

    • flower

YES! It’s another guest that is “forced” upon us. Please fill in characters. Don’t skew the show to fit another “star that wants to be on the show”. Don’t interrupt the show to insert them.

  • pop

love bardem, but glee is needs to stop with the celebrity guests!

    • Barry

They also need to stop with the show built around 1 artist’s songs like Madonna & “Lady” – I think I’ll take in a Yankees’ game in my bra & panties – Caca.

      • Gretchen

        Mets game

      • BlackIrish4094

Actually both Gretchen. First the Mets then a Yankee game a day or two later and she acted the fool at both but for the Yankees it was in the clubhouse.

    • Jon

Is true. Is needs to stop.

  • scarlett

Glee is the new 30 rock, haha too many stunt castings

  • redvector

Show’s like Glee make a big splash the first season or two then one misstep can send it all crashing down. The second season can be deadly and is the acid test of a show’s staying power.

    • Sara

While true, it’s already been renewed to a third season… so even if it all goes to hell in a handbasket it’ll be around for a bit yet.

      • Lina

Sure. The networks would never cancel a show they had renewed…

      • alex

actually, Lina, name a show that has been renewed and cancelled. And I mean official on it’s press release page and everything as YES there WILL be three seasons. A network would have to be desperate to get rid of that, as it would cost MILLIONS because that is a contract and breaking a contract is expensive (mostly because of lawyers).

      • ar

@Alex – SouthLand. NBC renewed it last Spring, then cancelled it in the fall right before it was supposed to premier for it’s second season. So it does happen. If the show tanks in the ratings, FOX would lose more money keeping it on the by breaking the contract. And this is coming from a huge Glee fan, so no Glee hate here, just giving you an example.

      • j

@ar: Wasn’t SouthLAnd cancelled in the middle of its first season? Then the “2nd” season, which was only the last 6 or so episodes that were supposed to air for the 1st season, were aired on TNT.

  • Leslie

I agree — NOT liking the “run ‘em through one after another” guest appearances. Get a grip, RM!! Back to the basics, please.

  • Brooke

Who cares about MORE guest stars?! Any Finn and Rachel scoop?

    • Nan

      AMEN Brooke!

    • Katy

YES! to more Finn and Rachel sexytimes. NO! to stunt guests.

  • Jessica

I loved the first season, I am worried though that the second season is going to lack in story. If it is nothing but guest star after guest star there will be no cohesive story line

  • Jose

As much as I loved the 1st half of season 1, what came afterwards made me stop watching Glee. This does not raise my hopes at all.

    • Cheery

Exactly. And it seems like they’re getting farther and farther away from that winning combination.

    • Marshall1

Completely agreed w/ u!!! I have allthe eps of the first seasonbut I think I will not own the second half

  • Pilar

I kinda like the idea of J Bardem in the show, but i’m so not not happy with Charice P (who has an amazing voice but I don’t really like her and she isn’t really famous) and Katie Holmes(who is just doing it to get more famous, if she is even considered “famous”), they are going to ruin the show if they keep doing these stunt castings.

    • brighteyes00

YEEECCCHHH! Katie holmes is gonna be on?

    • pinoiboi

      PILAR.. PILAR… PILAR… YOU ARE A BIG LOSER… BUA-HA-HA-HA… BIG SHAME ON YOU…

    • Maureen

Ugh! I didn’t know Katie Holmes was going to be on the show! >_<

      • anonymous

I may have to skip that show.

      • ythu

Katie Holmes would be terrific, she is so talented.

  • Bigref

This gleek is rapidly becoming an ex. All the things I loved about the second half of season one could have been in one episode. For me, the first warning was the cheap political shots at two conservative women. That just ticks off half of America while gaining…nothing. It is either arrogance or stupidity and I don’t believe that the people making this amazing show are stupid. Arrogance will always bite you in the a$$.

    • WTF?

What are you talking about? I’ve watched every episode of Glee and I have no idea what you are referring to.

      • Yvette

He’s talking about Palin. I kinda like the shots they took at Palin. I’m pretty sure, others were laughing with it – like me. You might not hear the end on conservative political jabs – the show’s creator is liberal himself.

    • WTF?

Thanks, Yvette. I must have missed that. Of course I think Palin deserves to be made fun of But Bigref mentioned TWO conservative women. Is there another one or does Palin’s inflated ego count for two?

      • ttrnet

There was an episode where RM clearly took a shot at Ann Coulter. I forgot the line but remembering that it felt so out of place. I’m a liberal myself but these snide asides like the Palin comment too really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The insertions felt unnatural and not in the context of the scene. YMMV.

    • BlackIrish4094

Who cares if they picked on dumb ass Palin or Coulter, they both deserve it.

      • Bigref

By the latest Gallup poll, 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative. That is a huge demographic to insult if you want your show to succeed. It is like opening a store and putting up a sign that says “No Protestants Allowed”, then wondering why your business is failing. The sign might as well say “This store run by stupid people.”

      • smoto

You’re so right. I notice that conservative-leaning networks and shows fall all over themselves not to say a word against progressives past or present.

      • Vannat

They’re not making fun of conservatives, just two talking heads. I would hope that cons don’t see Palin and Coulter as representative of them….they seem to me to be more of a fringe element. Reagan used to be the face of the movement….if Coulter and Palin can now claim that space then I’m just sad.

      • BlackIrish4094

That’s my point exactly. I don’t want to see them making fun of one side or the other in relation to politics (enough shows for that now) but those two individuals deserve anything they get. Both sow discord and hate, although Palin’s way is sneakier, right “real Americans”?

    • Jon

Have you looked at Palin’s approval ratings lately?

      • BlackIrish4094

Assuming you mean how good they are, depends on what part of the country the poll is from. And if she is popular, it’s more of a commentary on how vapid Americans have become if they fall for her shtick, She is simply not an intelligent woman and should not hold high office IMO.

    • flower

Really? It didn’t even stand out because that is the norm isn’t it? Making fun of Palin is just like saying the sky is blue. I didn’t even remember it AND I own all the episodes of season 1.

  • Chris

Like Bardem and love Glee. But the the two of them together just sounds awful. Enough with the freaking guest stars. There’s plenty of talent on the show already.

    • DT

Is he going to be stalking the halls with a cattle gun and a crappy haircut? I’d actually tune in for that.

      • aleksa

        And a coin to flip.
