Scoop: 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' subpoenas Skeet Ulrich

skeet-ulrichImage Credit: Stefanie Keenan/WireImage.comWe finally have a face to put to the name spin-off.

Sources confirm that Jericho survivor Skeet Ulrich will play one of the two lead detectives on Law & Order: Los Angeles.

Ulrich’s character, Rex Winters, is described as an ex-Marine who possesses the natural intuition of a cop. His experience during the Rodney King riots — which occurred during his second month on the job — shaped his philosophy on police work. Basically, he believes the world is in chaos, and people are either good or bad. As an added twist, he’s married to his ex-partner.

Ulrich is the first actor to sign up for LOLA duty. Five other roles — including Ulrich’s onscreen partner — are currently being cast.

Is NBC off to a good start with Ulrich? Sound off below!

    • ythu

I see why you are upset, you thought this would be about canceling True Blood. Maybe the next time.

      • Irish

Back to your cave, troll. Back!

      • Walrus

LOL… NUTS! is a reference to the show Jericho.

      • Nick c

    • etm

      Wow he looks old!

      • Jude

That’s what I was thinking. Aging sucks, Skeet. Don’t do it!

      • Jude

Oops. Is it aging or ageing? Either way, please refrain Mr Ulrich!

      • Cheryl D

Since the character “experienced the Rodney King riots,” am sure he would have to look older than you.

Jude: Aging is the correct spelling.

      • Paul B

No, it isn’t. Because you don’t know which country Jude is from. ;)
“Aging” is mostly used in the USA, whereas “ageing” is perfectly acceptable in British English. So consider yourself told! :)

James I was just thinking the very same thing..LOL.”Jericho” another decent show that wasn’t given a chance!

  • Charpie

      Huh… Love Skeet Ulrich.
Maybe there’s hope for LOLA after all?

  • Bia

I couldn’t care less about LOLA. I want MOTHERSHIP back. NBC screw up for good it’s audience.

    • Colton

Don’t worry Bia, rumors say that AMC is interested in bringing back the Mothership.

    • Sacto

I agree! I thought LOLA was a terrible idea this show belongs to New York! I HATED the idea of LOLA and I HATE the casting! NBC grow a brain and bring back L&O!!!!!

      • Cheryl D

Sacto: I am also very disappointed that the original L&O was cancelled. The L&O franchise has been a staple with my family since their beginnings. Sad that you hate so much. Only one cast member announced so far. We’ll certainly give the new entry a chance.

    • Su

Bia, re: your comment “NBC screw up for good it’s audience”: there’s no apostrophe in the possessive form of “its”; “it’s” is a contraction of “it is.”

I have discovered some new items from your web page about pc’s. Another thing I have aalyws assumed is that laptop computers have become a product that each household must have for most reasons. They provide convenient ways in which to organize homes, pay bills, search for information, study, pay attention to music and perhaps watch tv shows. An innovative method to complete these types of tasks is to use a laptop computer. These computer systems are mobile, small, effective and mobile.

        So are you Jeff.

        So.
        Are.
        You.

  • Dave

I like it. Hope the other lead roles are filled soon; I’m getting the feeling that this show will end up getting pushed to mid-season if they don’t get rolling.

  • Jackie

I like him, and I might try and watch this, but it just won’t be the same. Law & Order takes place in NEW YORK! Everyone knows that! And no, I am not a New Yorker, just a Law & Order fan :)

    • Scooptress

Jackie, your comment is malicious proposterous, outrageous!
We’re takin’ on the tabacco companies!

    • Andree

I completly agree with you L&O belongs to New York and nowhere else!

I LOVE that Skeet is returning to television. (I’m still grieving for Jericho.) I’m still not sure if I’m 100% sold on this new L&O.

    • Colette

You too? I thought I was the only one still grieving the loss of Jericho!

  • Don J

Not a bad choice. I can definitely see him playing a Cop. He did such a good job as the lead on Jericho that I think he will do fine on a L&O spinoff.

^^ I agree with Dave. Considering they are still casting and it’s already July, I think the chances of this making air by Fall are getting slimer unless they seriously get the ball rolling.

      Ha! His name is Skeet…
Other than that, I liked him in Jericho and Scream. Nice choice.
