You missed a Super Excited – The inclusion of Mike O’Malley in Guest Actor for his amazing work as Kurt’s father on Glee. So happy about that one.
Agreed about Tony Shaloub…at least he’s out next year. Hopefully that means a spot opens for Zachary Levi (Chuck) or Joel McHale (Community)!
Don’t get your hopes up! Maybe Community, but it’s probably too quirky for the Emmy voters, and Chuck is too ‘genre’ and both have moderate-size audiences but kind of under the radar in terms of buzz and general attention.
Ugh. I’m so pissed about Community being snubbed. And Bones, too! I want an Emmy nom for Bones!
I must say I’m very dissapointed there’s no nomiation for Bones. Just look at the 100th episode, that’s some outstanding acting!
All due respect, but you’re kidding, right? The only nod it should get is under the comedy category, as it’s the biggest joke on television. (And this is coming from someone who can recite seasons one through three on cue.)
I’m thrilled about NPH getting nominated for his role in Glee as well as HIMYM – and for Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit getting a nom too!
Yeah, someone else is happy about Neil Patrick Harris getting a Glee nomination. He was amazing.
What the hell!?!?! Where is Lisa Edelstein!?!?!?!?
I can’t believe it!… OMG
She wasn’t nominated because the ones who were are better
Sorry to see Lisa Edelstein did not get a nomination. A great actress overlooked again. Actually I am sorry House did not receive more nominations on the acting, writing and directing front. How can “Broken” receive a WGA award for writing this year and not even be nominated at the Emmys? It doesn’t make sense to me. Actually the Emmys don’t make sense to me at all any more. I can only hope that this year they at least shock the hell out of me and give HUGH LAURIE THE EMMY HE HAS DESERVED FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS!!! Fingers crossed Hugh!
MIke O’Malley NEEDS to win, he made me forget about Yes Dear. He transcended his shameful crappy situation comedy past.
I’m assuming the TREME snub has something to do with the show just ending and reel submittal dates? At least I’m hoping that’s the case.
Biggest snub but on I can kinda deal with(though I’ll sniffle quietly) is Parenthood(including Peter Krause, Mae Whitman, Monica Potter). I really hope there was a good reason for that one.
And of course, with you on Chuck. No Zach Levi. gah.
And umm WHY are we still nominating Tony Shalhoub? Is he holding something on the committee? Seriously? And cryer? come on, that show will barely make it this next season with all the Sheen bs. Let someone else get nominated.
Same goes with Tina Fey. Really over her and 30 Rock. Show borders on insane.
I agree with everything here.
Except Tina Fey is a goddess and deserves every award in the universe.
THE END.
The point of 30 Rock is the insanity of it all. Tina Fey is amazing, and I’m glad that 30 Rock is still getting nominations. Jane Krakowski definitely deserved her nom!
YAY for Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Mitchell, and all the House, LOST and The Good Wife nominations! BOO for no Lisa Edelstein!
I thought the blatant omittance of Ed O’Neill was completely wrong! Also, John Noble should have gotten a nomination!
Totally agree! Jon Cryer over Ed O’Neill…UNBELIEVABLE!!
Where is John Noble????
I’m super pissed that Zach Gilford got snubbed for his brilliant acting. Also super pissed that Cat Deeley didn’t get nominated for outstanding host.
YES! I don’t know why Cat Deeley isn’t on this list when Heidi Klum is. Although I have loved Project Runway, she barely counts as a host compared to the lovely Cat Deeley.
I’m also pissed about the Community snub and feel that Parks and Rec should’ve gotten more love, although I am thrilled that Amy Poehler got nominated.
And what about Bones?! Emily Deschanel? David Boreanaz? I’m really pissed……
For best supporting actor in Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser deserved it over John Slattery, who was barely in season 3 except the stuff with his daughter.
I don’t like Community so I was not unhappy about that, but I would have liked Aziz or Nick Offerman from Parks and Rec to get the best supporting nod instead of Jon Cryer, who is terrible and whiny.
I think the reality show categories are terrible–there are other quality competition shows and better hosts (Padma/Tom, for instance).
I think they got a lot right, more than they have in other years. I’m sure the winners will be unsurprising and boring though.
I’m pissod off about the Community snub and Zach Gilford snub.
I dont get why Big Bang wasn’t nominated as a show and I too believe Chuck was snubbed.
This was not Big Bang’s best year. The Penny/Leonard thing SO did not work.
I’m a huge geek, but I’ve never found The Big Bang Theory that funny. You can see the jokes coming a mile away. They have great actors, but they need better material.
The Emmy voters are obviously on the older side, so CBS is of course their favorite network, it always has been.
