Image Credit: Carin Baer/FoxCo-creator RYAN MURPHY on which one of the show’s 19 nominations made him the happiest: “I was obviously thrilled for all of them, but the one that I was just like, ‘Holy s—, that is just great’ was Chris Colfer. I think that was such a crowded, difficult category with so many great people. And, you know, he’s 20 years old and this is the first thing he’s ever done. He literally got off a bus in Clovis and walked in, and we wrote the part for him. I was just like a proud papa with him. People love his character [Kurt], and I think it was risky for him to be that young and play somebody who was so forthright and out and proud and struggling and flawed. But he stepped into those shoes and embraced it and made it his own. I think that he’s done so much for young people and showed them so much.”
Supporting-actor contender CHRIS COLFER on being nominated along with TV dad Mike O’Malley: “It means the world to me because I honestly couldn’t do what I do without him being such an awesome, awesome actor and a great person to work with. I’m more excited [about his nod] than I am about mine because he deserves it and puts his whole heart into everything he does. I’m so, so happy. I feel like his own kid because I am so proud of him.”
Leading lady LEA MICHELE on sharing this experience with good friend (and fellow nominee) Matthew Morrison: “I’ve known Matt for years now, and every time these things happen we have these moments where we are like, ‘Wow.’ From working on Broadway to being nominated for Golden Globes together and now an Emmy. It’s just unbelievable how life has been these days.”

I was so excited to see Chris get the recognition that he deserved!
I want a BJ from Lea Michele so bad!
Mark Salling, get off the comment boards!
I actually thought they would submit that episode too because Mike O’Malley is amazing in that episode, but no. They used the one where Kurt wants the girl solo and his dad fights for him to get an audition.
I want a BJ from Chris Colfer so bad
Hah!!
Grow Up! Seriously
what a pervert!!!
OMG, i was so excited for his nomination to! And he totally deserves it! He is an awesome actor!!
Do spammers get paid to pimp these sites? just wondering…
oops, I meant that comment for the one above yours. sorry. lol
i think kurk has the voice of an angel , and hes so cute , missing hearing you sing xxx
I’m ecstatic and shocked at Chris Colfer being nominated. He has been so good all throughout this first season of Glee. He truly deserves the accolades and I hope it is the first of many more!!
I bet they submitted the episode when Finn uses the f-word. Both Colfer and O’Malley did some amazing work on that episode and both deserve their nominations.
The Kurt and Burt scenes are the true beating heart of Glee, they have moved me to tears, and both actors should be proud.
Here, here! Behind the guest stars, the theme episodes and the drama, the show is all about coming to terms with who you are, being proud of and loving yourself. Kurt and Burt – Chris and Mike – are indeed the heart of the show.
Mike O’Mallay was nominated for Wheels, the episode were Kurt and Rachel had a diva-off.
The nod for Chris really warms my heart. He seems like a really sweet kid, and he’s done some wonderful work on Glee. I’m so happy for him, I just want to give him a big hug.
Me too!
Me too
So happy for Glee and especially Chris Colfer!!
Yay Kurt! I hope he gets his own Bowie or Prince solo next season. That would be hott!
I want a Glee sweep! Chances of it happening, not likely. But, I CAN DREAM!
Agreed, I was SO happy for Chris Colfer when I found out.
He deserves it!
I literally yelled when I saw Chris’s nomination. So deserved.
Sorry, but I don’t think Matthew Morrison is a ‘comedic’ actor. He was pretty much the straight man to everyone else most of the season. He’s a great singer and nice to look at, but I wouldn’t have nominated him for this category.
BTW, Chris Colfer and Mike O’Malley totally deserved their nominations, 100% completely. I’ll be rooting for them on Emmy night!
Me, too!!
Matthew Morrison wasn’t nominated as a “comedic” actor. He gained the nod because of the quality of his acting. Glee is in the “Comedy/Musical” category. That means anyone nominated on the show falls in the comedy category.
Emmys don’t have a Comedy/Musical category. The Golden Globes do, but the Emmys just have Comedy versus Drama.
Whyyyyyyyyyy so many people are interested in an i-nterracial relations-hip. black woman want to date white man and black guys want to have relationship with white women. There are many sites focusing on this kind of relationships such as “” B l a c k W h i t eC u p i d . C ○ M”" recommend it here, check it now!!
i agree with you. i really like him, but i don’t see him winning this.
I rather have Matt nominated than Charlie Sheen but I do agree that Matthew Morrison didn’t deserve the nomination even though he is pretty good on the show.
I don’t think that Matthew Morrisson has been nominated both for the GG and the emmys for his comedic and dramatic skills exclusively but because of his amazing portrayal of a passionate educator adored by his kids. In the world we’e living, a lot of kids need to have a Will Schuester in their life.
Matt was nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. That doesn’t mean he has to be the funniest actor on the show, or have the most jokes, he just has to be a good actor. The show is a comedy, the actor doesn’t always have to be. Your missing the true meaning of the category.
Thank you Lori!
GO GLEE!!
Well, he’s not really that great of an actor either. So…
Lance, if he’s not really that great of an actor he wouldn’t be nominated for an Emmy. Your opinion isn’t the only one that matters dollface.
Super Gleeks (and I truly used to be one of them–Pilot was incredible, first half of season 1 was very good, second half was uneven and poorly written) are becoming as irritatingly oblivious as Twihards. If fans don’t acknowledge that the quality slipped dramatically in the 2nd half of the season (by letting the songs dictate the story, by having characters doing things extremely out of character, and by introducing over the top, after school special style melodrama) then Ryan Murphy will keep thinking that he can do whatever he wants and people will just buy it because it has catchy songs. I agree that Glee should have earned many of the nominations that it did (Jane Lynch, best writing and directing for pilot, best guest for Kristen Chenowith and Mike O’Malley. I might let Lea Michelle slide for singing ability alone, but she’s not doing anything special acting wise) but the rest, to me seem like the Emmy’s drank the kool-aid too. I’m not a hater…Glee could just be so much better than it is if people would acknowledge the flaws and get the word out that the show has lost its way.
EXACTLY! Thank you, Lori. It is a fantastic show and they couldn’t have cast it any better.
Chris is so great/hilarious/heartbreaking/real as Kurt! So deserving of his nomination!
I’m excited for Chris, and for Mike and Jane. I’m not exactly doing cartwheels for Matthew and Lea, but I am rooting for the supporting cast.
No need to be negative to Lea and Matt they do a great job. I thik they both do a great job and Rachel Berry is a very amusing character and Lea plays her well.
I really want to see Mike O’Malley win, he’s got some seriously stiff competition though, Eli Wallach!
Mike O’Malley was the only actor on any show this year that moved me to tears. He is fantastic on Glee. He especially deserves the Emmy considering his career survived the awful “Yes, Dear” on CBS.
I agree – who would have ever thought from watching that show that he was capable of such a great performance! He has certainly made a believer out of me!
AND he was the “Global Guts” guy on Nickelodeon. Anyone?
I’m SO glad for Chris Colfer. Kurt has been my favorite character since day one.
I’m from the same school district as Chris, so I actually know people who went to school with him. And they told me he was nice but it was obvious that those people looked down on him and treated him like an outcast in school. It is so amazing that he proved all those kids wrong-he is amazing. Congratulations Chris-success is definitely the best revenge
Chris Colfer is a truly talented young actor and i am so happy to see how successful he has become. It is amazing to think that there was never even going to be a “Kurt” character until he auditioned
He has talked about that on occasion and how – now that he’s well known – everybody has come out of the woodwork ‘remembering’ when they were friends in HS. He quite rightly ignores them!
