Current V extra-terrestrial Laura Vandervoort has inked a deal to reprise her role as Clark’s Kryptonian cuz Kara during Smallville‘s 10th and final season, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Vandervoort—who left the show at the end of season 7 only to return briefly the following fall to wrap up Supergirl’s story—will be back for one episode (tentatively scheduled to air in October).
Smallville and V are both produced by Warner Bros., so it’s safe to say the actress’ comeback was signed off on faster than a speeding bullet.
Vandervoort is the second major Smallville alum to head back for the final season. Last month it was announced that John Schneider would appear in one, possibly two episodes as Clark’s late dad.

I agree! The last shot should be Clark in the Superman suit. It would signal the end of Smallville and the beginning of SuperMAN. I would love to see the return of Supergirl, Pa and Lex Luthor for the final season. I thought that Laura Vandervoort was a great Supergirl and I also like her in V.
I always pictured him flying up the side of the daily planet as lois and the helicopter falls and just before he catches lois..it goes blank with the words, the rest is history.

I’d kind of like to see at least one full episode in the suit, even though I don’t think it will happen, for a bunch of reasons – the fly out from the fortress would work well, though, I think…

That’s nice about Laura, but one episode is more than enough! And, PLEASE, don’t let her “teach” Clark how to fly. Clark needs to do that all on his own! Don’t belittle Superman in this manner.
And, I’m more excited about the return of John Schneider! Now, we need Martha Kent and Perry White to return in season ten for more episodes. And, perhaps Lex Luthor for a few also.
First of all they never really had a legitimate closing or concluding episode for Lana, all that last one was was that she could get close to Clark anymore. Then she just disappears??? What the heck, where did she go, whats her last story. CW2 you really need to conclude Kristin’s character better than that. I mean even in the past episodes like the legion, your story says that Lana will help the legion and Clark in the future by doing wonderful things to help the world. We need a damn conclusion. Complete hole in the plot sequence. I beg you bring back Lana for a closing episode for her please!!!!
Bringing John Schneider back would rock. I think it’s pivotal to bring Lex back. I mean the whole conflict between Superman and Lex Luthor is epic. If even for one episode it would rock. It would let fans know that the evil genius is alive and the legend will go on. As for Clark flying out in the suit, then into space, and smiling that would be an awesome end to SMALLVILLE as well as a tribute to Christopher Reeve. Whoa, brain storm: how about if they have a recall of Swann’s voice saying, “You musr write your own destiny Kal-El” just before he goes to the fortress or emerges, as long as it’s there.
this is great news but it would truly be incredible if the last season has Clark Kent meet Bruce Wayne (don’t need the dark knight) and have Clark put on the “suit” as he leaves the planet for a truly dangerous mission (secret one that is; would make for a great T.V. movie)
I would LOVE to see Luther come back and put Tess in her place and have him and Clark have a long heart to heart. I love Rosebaum

Kara was the shizznit. Plus she’s the hotest on there, right next to Lois. Didn’t really care for Kristin much, Didin’t like her charactor always whining and her 2nd class acting. She had a hot ass though..

No, you’re not the only one. I’m not thrilled to hear this.
Kara is a big part of why season 7 is my least favorite. She took the focus off Clark (this is supposed to be Superman’s story, not hers), she wasn’t very interesting, and every time I saw her fly it made me want to throw something at my TV. They did such a disservice to Clark and the whole Superman story by having her be more powerful than Clark.
In general, there have been way too many Kryptonians on this show (he is supposed to be the “Last Son of Krypton”, you know). Everytime another one shows up, it just makes Clark less…. special. The Kandorians weren’t too bad, because they were actually clones and spent most of the season without powers. But Kara bugged the heck out of me. She’d better not be trying to teach him how to fly again.
in case you have forgotten, kara’s way older than clark back in Krypton in this sidestory. it’s just that she was in this suspended animation state and that’s why the younger look. she actually arrived here on earth much earlier than clark too. that also explains why kara already has these superpowers that clark is still yet to learn.

She demeans Clark by trying to teach him how to fly when she’s so freaking stubborn she won’t listen to a single thing he tries to tell her. “Princess Kandor” seriously needs to get over herself.
By the way, I thought she had the ability to fly not because of longer exposure but because she never considered herself human. Jor-El said that was Clark’s problem at the beginning of season 9.

I Agree Smallville is the best show on TV.It’s going for ten Seasons.But rumor has it Season 10 Lois won’t be in every episode.Lois already knows Clark’s Secret.I’m interested to see how her Love relationship with Clark ends up.Bring back Lex Luthor.And will Clark finally start flying?.

First, I loved Lex’s character in the beginning, though it made me sad because he started out as such a nice guy. Then as the seasons wore on I loved to hate him.
Second, they have to bring Lex back somehow. The whole Superman saga is about the epic struggle between them. Having a Superman saga without Lex Luthor would be like Batman without the Joker.
Finally, I’m hoping to see more of the Justice League, Bart, A.C. Victor, Black Canary, Zatanna, Hawkman, all of them.

I actually don’t want to see Rosenbaum unless it’s a really good storyline. I love Michael Rosenbaum but I got tired of the Lex character. All he did was obsess about Clark or Lana and stand around in his mansion drinking scotch diabolically.
Agreed; MR is a terrific actor, but they took Lex as far as he could go. And, yeah, his obsession over Clark and Lana grew really old.

And, as much as I am tired of her character, it would be a shame for Smallville to go out without Kristen Kreuk having another episode or two.

you can’t bring Lana back. it’s too late in the story, and she coulndn’t get near him anyhow. BUT lana and clarks love story gave this show its biggest rating, whether you like it or not. she is gorgeous, and can act. she just needs to choose her movie parts better (or get a better agent)
YES! Laura is fantastic as Kara! She is my second favourite Smallville character. Now if only my favourite, Lana could make a return, this season would be perfect.

Shouldn’t she have been sent to the other dimension with the rest of the Kandorians after the end of Season 9? Except Clark of course b/c he has Blue K. Hmmm… maybe a flash back, dream, recorded message, etc similar to how they will have to work in Jonathan Kent since he is died in Season 5 and Brainiac played his ghost a few seasons back.

Wasn’t she off planet? Didn’t she head into space after she got out of the Phantom Zone to look for other Kryptonians? I’m guessing that’s why she wouldn’t have been sucked in the portal.
No she wouldn’t she’s out in space looking for other Kryptonians. It only affected any of them on earth.
Kara wasn’t on Earth when Clark sent the Kandorians back. She’s been off searching space for the real Kandor. So she should be fine.

Definetely pumped for John Schneider’s return! And hell, I loved Laura Vandervoort on Smallville…definetely made it easier to watch haha. However, even with those two I’m really hoping Rosenbaum will decide to reprise his role for the majority of the season…you can’t end a Superman show without Lex Luthor!

I agree, like i said they had no concluding episode for Lana, she needs to return to conclude her story of give it more meaning. She should come back and save Clark from something one last time. But i honestly think that the true Lex is not dead. I mean think about it, what about all the stories with Lex against superman in the future. Lex cant be dead, hes hiding somewhere. But other than that, if Lana doesnt come back to the show for at least one episode before the show ends, i will be pissed.
