Sources confirm to me exclusively that the ex-Mercy doc (and Men in Trees hunk) is joining Grey’s Anatomy in the recurring role of Andrew Perkins, a trauma counselor brought in to help Seattle Grace recover from that nightmarish season-ending bloodbath.
Tupper is on board for at least two episodes.
Grey’s kicks off its seventh season on Sept. 23 with an episode titled “With You I’m Born Again.”

I work in one to and there are a lot of inaccuracies, but it’s about the drama, not the medicine. I don’t think anyone watched it to critique the medical information.
You’re lame. It’s NOT a REAL hospital. It’s a TV show. FAKE. NOT REAL.
Never been in a code or a trauma without nurses, respiratory therapists, rad techs, lab, pharmacy and so on, EVEN in a teaching hospital. That part in unreal and they do need a better medical consultant, I am with you about that!! BUT it is a great soap opera!!
If Greys were a reality show I would say go ahead and criticize but you know, you can only but luv the characters of Greys – and the drama with a bit of gore and guts thrown in.
Same with TV shows involving the law. Makes it hard to suspend disbelief and just enjoy.
I’m a nurse too..have to remember this is entertainment, not a documentary….cut them some slack.
i have worked in the medical field and alot of the stuff like that does happen we do have clicks the nurses all swoon over the doctors now as far as the trouble they get in if that was real they wouldnt have jobs

Leave it up to a nurse to be critical. I am a Nurse too if I wanted real I would watch the reality shows. I like the drama of the people not the ER. I mean really not that many hospitals have that many cool doctors you can just hop into bed with either, or have I been working at the wrong hospitals!!!!!
I am also a nurse and I agree that they need better consultants… so if they need someone I am willing to travel, or be an extra or just put me next to McDreamy for whatever reason lol

I think it’s great, but does that mean that Mercy is going under? I love that show as well and would hate to lose it. They have so many hot hunks on Greys now, I wanna be a patient or better yet apply for a job, I’m a nurse. Yummy, wouldn’t get much work done.

Baby, Mercy was cancelled like two months ago. It bummed me out too. I enjoyed it and really like the finale.
I really got into Mercy towards the end after they decided to work more on character development. Taylor’s character “Veronica” had such a unique background and so relate-able to the American public, it makes me angry when they pull shows 1 season in b/c they don’t have the ratings. If you look at a vast majority of hits, they started off slow and then got good a few seasons in. Network television blows anymore.

Um I’m not asking for more characters to be killed off the show. But it seems to me that if you do kill off a couple of people and finally start bringing the number of cast members down to an reasonable level, the last thing you want to do is add more.
There are just too many people to keep track of. This show has gone from having an A, B and C storyline, to having A, B, C, D, and E storylines, or they simply leave characters out of episodes for weeks at a time.
If you’re not going to fully utilize your current cast, it doesn’t make sense to add more.

I was thinking the same thing. They have enough people already.
I think the problem isn’t cast size, It’s that the writers don’t know how to write for an ensemble cast, which GA has become.
Just my thoughts. Two episodes is OK, not more, please.
I hope he’s gone after two episodes. Maybe an appearance in an arc storyline (three episodes) in the near future… (January/February). But definitely not series regular. I love Grey’s to death, but it should stick with the characters they have an play with them for a while. I wouldn’t mind someone coming in later in the season (April/May) but now they should just keep it the way they have it. Mainly there’s so much now to explore after the shooting… adding another character would not make things better. Also out with the single character episodes. I can deal with one or two more, but stick to regular format. It works for this show.

Why not have them talk to Amy Madigan’s Dr. Wyatt? She is an underused treasure on that show.
Dr. Wyatt is too old and not attractive enough to sleep with anyone on the show. I bet anything Tupper’s character will be sleep with Teddy.
That would be true Shonda Rhimes logic… instead of just dropping the Teddy character because the Owen/Cristina/Teddy triangle has exhausted itself, the show should hire a new doctor to be Teddy’s love interest.

KAF, I think Julie’s comment was sarcastic. I think what Julie is saying is that the writers can’t think of anything to do with Dr. Wyatt on a regular basis, because they don’t know how to deal with a mature character and a romantic storyline.
I mean, it took until season 6 to give Bailey a love interest.
Maybe after AM stint in Fringe, she’ll come back. I doubt this guy will stick through the season and given Derek’s trauma, I think he’ll be needing a shrink for a while.

Maybe Dr. Wyatt was killed during the finale… The shooter was in the hospital for a long time and we didn’t see everything.
She has been cast as Olivia’s mom for the first few episodes of Fringe and that’s probably why they aren’t using her character.
She’s most likely going to need some therapy herself; she will also be affected by the shooting.
