Sounds terrible. I’m sick of Mary’s family and would like to know a little more about JOHN’S side of the family. I don’t care about all these random relatives popping up out of nowhere. All this tells me is the show is stretching really hard to get ideas and jumping the shark badly. It should’ve ended in season five. The show isn’t about SamnDean anymore.

    • wino

every season you have new people coming and going. doubt that will take away from Sam and Dean relationship. if i recall, many complained that Cas was interfering w. their relationship two seasons ago. now, some have focused their gripes on mary’s fam or lisa and her kid. good lawrd, the show has and always will be about the brothers. but you do need new blood to interact w. the guys.

  • Rhea

This is an interesting insight from the creator. I don’t care about anyone else but s long as Sam and Dean are back, I am happy. Their bond is like nothing i’ve ever seen before on tv, so much love and respect and hotness in this duo. God I love them. the Winchesters will always keep me watching.

    • Tara

I agree with you 100%. Sam and Dean are the show, and although the extra characters are entertaining, the most important thing to me is that the brothers are back and still have a strong bond.

  • Kat

I’m happy that there seems to be a return to fighting monsters but I’m a bit worried about all the new characters that are being introduced. I hope it doesn’t detract from the strong bond between the brothers – much of that was a result of them essentially being alone in the world. Now with new family and friends will they not need each other as much?

  • wino

Cas, Crowley, adn a back to basics storyline involving monsters?? sounds like a great way to end Supernatural, looking forward to season 6! also, there is no need to worry about the new timeslot, the ratings are not going to affect the ending or quality of the show.

    • cassi

What are you talking about? Nobody said season 6 is gonna be the last. Don’t confuse SPN with Smallville!

  • jaden smith

    Sooo.
    Its not ganna end? :D

I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!! I am so relieved the show didn’t end in Season 5 ! Dean domesticated and Sam in the hole? Oh…no,no ,no!!
When the show is over they just need to die together. I understand how Sam and Dean get into arguments but the huge intense split in season 4 and 5 way to heartbreaking. I almost stopped watching. They ended up finally trusting each other in the last episode, which took way too long. I think Season 6 is going to be very interesting. Im so glad there is going to be more mythology. Sam and Dean have to be a united duo. Their bond and how far they are willing to go for family is what hooked me, my family, and friends watching Supernatural. The mythology, the Impala, and classic rock made it even better. I relate to the tight family bond. I also hope there is going to be a lot of brotherly love. Their chemistry is so overwhelmingly rare and amazing. I don’t mean that in the teenager screeching fangirl way. Majority of fans don’t go there.Supernatural is nothing without Jared and Jensen being Sam and Dean. Both are extremely talented. I have NEVER cried, laughed, and gotten scared so much for a TV show. To bring those kinds of emotions out from a lot of men and women is incredible.

It sounds like it’s going to be a great season. I’ve always had faith in these writers. I don’t understand why some people worry about them running out of ideas (“what are they going to do now, the story has no good place to go, why can’t we go back to doing the same thing as in season one, etc.”). Over the last five years these writers and producers have proven to me that they are very talented and do not lack imagination. I’m looking forward to again seeing something differect from them but still, obviously, keeping with the hunter base. And since I am a fan of the characters and the actors who play Cas and Crowley, I’m really happy to hear about that. Also, as a former X-Files junkie, I’ll be happy to see Mitch Pileggi in any role.

  • walter17

not worried, i have to wait until it comes out on dvd. again hawaii does not have the CW unless one has a digital cable subscription. sad. i hope this isn’t an intervention like this years round of suckie movies.

  • Dee

    Castiel and Crowley! YES!!

  • Craig

I am really looking forward to this next season.

As much as I enjoyed the Lucifer arc, my favorite episodes of Supernatural have always been the stand-alone, monster-of-the-week episodes and it sounds like we’ll be getting a lot more of those.

As for the move to Fridays: there is less competition, so that gives me some hope, but Fridays are historically a low ratings night for shows across the board. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.

  • Nikki

Season 6 sounds promising :) can’t wait for it!

  • holy molotov

The Campbell stuff sounds a kind of interesting but we’ve had tons of stories from the Monster’s POV. Just off the top of my head, there were the shapeshifters in seasons 1 & 5, Lenore the vampire and the vampires in season 1, Madison the werewolf and Jack and ruguru. This doesn’t really strike me anything fresh and new.

But I have lost so much faith in this writing team after season 5 that I’m finding it really hard to work up any interest in this new season.

Right now I’m just in it because I still love a couple of the characters (Dean and Cas) but if they continue to some of the trends they started in season 5, I’m certainly not gonna bother staying in on a Friday night for this show.

Sorry Kripke. I thank you for four years and a few episodes but I’m starting to think the show did jump the shark with the introduction of Adam considering the way he was used last year.

SOOOOOO happy to hear about the 6th season! Best show on TV seriously!-

  • Kris

Sounds like you’re going back on your promise of “no One Tree Hill with monsters” there, Kripke.

  • Kari

I can’t wait till season 6 it sounds like it will be a good season.
